Happy April! I would've said Fools but I've just been so busy playing 10 billion lobotomy levels for this.
Not gonna lie, I thought I wasn't going to make this video on time for the day but I somehow edited all of this in 6 days + 2 day of research and recording + revising the script on top of it. This was supposed to be 7 minutes like the Level Names video but thankfully, I decided to do more research and I found a lot of levels to talk about!

it's always about "fire in the hole," but it's never about the hole that the fire occupied and it's upsetting how the community can forget such a tragic event 😢.
Anyways, it is clear that lobotomy levels are byproducts of the new 2.2 update, with all the camera motions, alteration of music, sound effects (most notably, the infamous phrase "fire in the hole"), the ability to place the difficulty faces in levels (of course), and a lot more. What I want to explore is the question of 'is this byproduct inevitable?' Additionally, how did this concept make such a big impact to media? The answer to both questions is the act of sh1tposting that is popular among Generation Z and Alpha. During the 2010's, UA-cam Poops (YTPs) were very popular to the young generation because the randomness of the editing of popular videos is a general humor to most humans (Larry the Cucumber, 1993), which eventually carried on to the late 2010's and early 2020's to the form of 'sh1tposting,' an act of sharing videos, usually memes with random editing, that generally doesn't have a particular reason as to why it was posted. Geometry Dash was also a popular game during these decades, so most, if not all, Geometry Dash players are familiar and entertained by such videos. Many "recent tab levels," even before the 2.2 update, are somewhat a form of sh1tpost due to their careless placement of portals, orbs, blocks, etc., which were the closest form of lobotomy levels before 2.2. This was, once again, carried on and added more randomness elements to the 2.2 update, as seen from the various levels displayed by Puueds in this video. Therefore, lobotomy levels, or at least levels that follow this sort of strong entropy, were pretty much an inevitable byproduct of popular media and the random humor the young generation have popularized, and since this act is popular to young people, many media-users, even if they aren't Geometry Dash players, have been familiarized to this concept, which eventually led to this generation's usage of 'lobotomy' to things that they think don't make sense or are random (e.g. brainrot). As to why the word lobotomy was used, it could be a pure coincidence or the person who made the first 'lobotomy' level, or at least popularized them to have such a name, in 2.2 was familiarized to the fact that playing these levels felt like having no sense of reality, thus the parallel of having a lobotomy. These levels clearly visualize the popularized humor that the young generation have an interest in, and the fact that these kinds of levels are currently becoming less popular gives us a sense that the act of sh1tposting is nothing but a short relief that helps us take a break from reality.
