My 13 year old Swiftie and I were at the Nashville show night 1 when she announced Speak Now TV. I was SOOOO emotional b/c my daughter was born the year Speak Now SV came out, she was a colicky baby, and I would drive her around blasting the album. To come full circle, be at the show with my daughter, singing every song together, and Taylor announce the rerelease that night...just magical.
you are SO LUCKY!!! when i found out "Haunted" was taken I was so bummed and literally nothing but "Back to December" could've made up for it... and that's exactly what we got for ours😭 we are The Lucky Ones lol
The way she was hitting notes in "Dear John," "The Story of Us," "Enchanted," & "Haunted." 🤩 This whole video is just Ashley letting out her inner Swiftie (in direct contrast to her once saying she'd let go of that life) and I'm here for it. 💜🌟
I'm a Switie who joined between Reputation and Lover. And as someone who dislikes country music, I stayed away from Debut, Fearless, and Speak Now. When Speak Now TV came out, I finally sat down and listened. This album genuinely broke me. Back to December, Never Grow up, Speak Now, Timeless...they murdered me. Don't think I've cried so hard since Would've, Could've, Should've.
same! I became a Swiftie during 1989 era, and ever since the masters fiasco broke out, i never listened to her pre-Lover albums (even illegally), except when I hear some of it involuntarily (TikTok)… so this is definitely my first time listening to Speak Now in a very long time.
i’ve been a fan of taylor properly since between Red and 1989 and declared a swiftie between the TVs and Midnights. So before all that, i knew a few songs from the first 4 albums but i was like, 7 years old and i liked all of them but i had no idea who Taylor was lol i just really liked those 10 songs i heard on the radio. So i fully listened to speak now for the first time with the TV release and….oh my god i had the time of my life. i cried a lot and damced around and felt so much joy. I’m currently 20yo so it’s insane to think she wrote this at my current age and it also makes so much sense. I love it, absolutely adore this album in my 20s 🥺🥺🥺 i kinda wish i knew it before but it also makes it so special to have heard it for the first time rn, especially now that she owns it !!!
the thing with Taylor’s music is whatever genre she does she still puts her mark into it. So it doesn’t matter what genre she does because they’re all so good. So if you skipped her other albums just because of the genre then you are missing out. Personally, I’m not a country fan but Taylor’s country music is just top tier. It’s the only country music that I like and that’s because they have the Taylor Swift mark.
It's insane when Taylor talked about how much stress she was under when she was creating Speak Now. She had follow up Fearless after winning album of the year and it became the most awarded country album of all time. She just went through a public humiliation after Kanye ran on stage at the VMAs. She's being slut shamed and questioned as a songwriter and singer. Yet she still delivered this songwriting masterpiece at only 20 years old. Speak Now is finally getting the recognition it deserved and I'm so happy for it!
@@itzcandy5896 Never understand why people who don't like her even bothered to click onto a video of her... y'all are just secretly obsessed with her :)
Now that you’ve mentioned Kanye, i’m having a second-hand embarrassment realizing that in Innocent "32 and still growing up now," is about his childish behavior he exuded during the VMA fiasco. Like? why are you as a middle aged man will come out of nowhere to ruin an awards night and bully a 19 y/o up and coming country artist?
and the way it’s mostly white girls who hate her for no reason… like Taylor Swift is the only good thing from your "culture" the least thing y’all could do is be thankful.

I skipped it after I heard the lyric change but I guess I hear the changes in the production they are pretty good, she probably added it to have something to make up for her lyric change 🤷🏻♀️
And OH MY GOD the way the instrumentation changed for the “No amount of vintage dresses gives you dignity” part! While this whole song (& the changes) are absolutely sending me this was one of my favorite parts!!!
And see, something that I feel people haven't been talking about is her vocals. The new version has grown on me, but I still can't help but feel she's purposely restraining herself? Like, she doesn't sound as passionate as she did in the stolen version? That's what threw me off 0_0
It's the Ashley Cat Lady Arc omg. EDIT: yeah, this has been my favorite album of hers EVER. Enchanted was my favorite song of hers. This was my whole personality when it came out. It is absolutely WILD listening to this in my late 20s. (Still can't listen to Never Grow Up w/o breaking down btw)
It SO speaks to Taylor’s fanbase that videos of people reacting to decade old songs get 100k views because people want to see other people enjoying their fav. So heartwarming.
personally i love electric touch. (and not only because im a massive fall out boy fan haha) hearing taylor talk about how fall out boys lyricism has inspired her it really felt like a full circle moment when their feature was announced
she grabbed hayley by the hand and took her for a walk in the folklore/evermore forest and they came out with one of the best songs in taylor's discography
Honestly being at the show where she announced this rerecording is something I will NEVER forget. It was absolutely insane. One big highlight of my swiftie life for sure.
you posting this in the minute i was going to wash the dishes... don't even need to look for something to watch while doing hahahahhahahaha thank you for one more amazing taylor video of you ❤
i completely understand why she changed the lyrics for better than revenge and i think that a lot of people forget how badly she was slut shamed later in her life, so it was different to shame a girl this time after she was on the receiving end
no, the crying to never grow up is real. like when the original came out and i think i was about fourteen, my thoughts were just "yeah, i never want to grow up". but when sntv came out all i could think about was my little sister. i've been right there for her her whole life (she's nine years younger than i am). "your little hands wrapped around my finger", i remember meeting her for the first time in the hospital and now she'll be leaving for college in a month. like, this is now one of the songs i have to skip to protect myself emotionally or i'll sob (currently crying just typing this)
I loved it Ash! My favorite from the vault is "I can see you" and I cried a lot with "Timeless". "Innocent" is difficult to me because of what happened, but her vocals are incredible. And I like the new lyrics in BTR, so smart! I really love this album.
I SAW HER PERFORM DEAR JOHN IN MINNEAPOLIS! It was f*cking insane! I had floor seats and a clear view to the stage...i sobbed, the way you sobbed to enchanted. That song has always been my song, ever since this album came out and I'd just broken off my first adult relationship (at 19, mind you) with someone named John. Oof. To see it live... my brain 🤯🤯
Idk if y'all noticed (probably yes cuz y'all swifties...ya'll figure things out) but she changed the lyrics on Long Live from "ALL the kingdom lights shined just for me and you" to "HOW the kingdom lights shined just for me and you"
When she said on her tour the other week about how her fans need to not attack those she wrote songs about back then, I took it as don’t say shitty things to Camilla Belle, because to nobody’s surprise, she’s had people in her comments giving her grief for Better Than Revenge ://
Ash: "Miko, what do you have to say about this album release" Miko: Ash: R I V E T I N G Side note: I adopted my kitty when he was about 13 or 14 weeks old, he is pure chaos, and I adore him Another side note: you will get many scratches from him, I convinced myself that mauling us is their love language
Im honestly surprised that so many people were mad at the lyric change in better than revenge, especially after the documentary where Taylor talked about how hard she’d worked on deprogramming the misogyny in her own brain and just like. How vocal she’s been about feminism in recent years?? Plus like the whole point is reclaiming these albums as Hers and who she is Now too, I feel it would have been so weird for her to not change it??? Also “he was a moth to the flame she was holding the matches” is a good fucking line idk I love it
timeless is one of her best songs of all time it should’ve been in the standard it should’ve been the title track i’ve been crying to this shit everyday it is so good i’m so proud of mother
34:35 from the start of the tour i had only 5 songs that could break me into pieces if they were played and i wasn't there: 1. I Know Places 2. I Did Something Bad 3. New Romantics 4. Dancing With Our Hands Tied 5. no body, no crime THEY ARE STILL INTACT! all of them
i’m so glad someone else feels the same way i feel abt speak now (the song) BC I JUST COULD NEVER GET WITH IT??? AM I MISSING SOMETHING??? nothing has changed my mind abt that song
Okay so I haven't been a TS fan for a while now (I think the last album of hers I really listened to was 1989) but this album was EVERYTHING to me when it came out (I think I was like 16 at the time). And I really did not expect it to hit so hard all these years later, but fuck!!! I had forgotten that 'Never Grow Up' sent me into instant tears as well lmao and apparently that is still true! What a trip.
facts about how songs heal during a certain time in life and what lyrics and eras can mean for someone. shooot i was crying before one of my concerts ever started cause of how much that album healed me
The fact that we've gotten rerecordings of ENCHANTED, BACK TO DECEMBER, STORY OF US, AND DEAR JOHN, not only that, but you've also blessed with so many amazing vocals, our mothers are feeding us 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
the fact I can say I was at the album release show for my favorite album, got to hear never grow up and long live, and saw taylor lautner do a backflip on stage is possibly my biggest flex ever
speak now is so fun to me because its about hayley williams of paramore and a story about hayley being in love with an old paramore band member and having to watch him get married to another girl
I'm so here for the Castle Crumbling recognition because it honestly felt like getting punched in the gut the first time I heard it. But so many reactors kind of just glossed over it and I kept waiting for someone to appreciate it.
I never realised how much I loved speak now until the re record came out. It has so many hits! I’m so glad you enjoyed it too!!!! Also would you listen to the barbie album when it’s released? It has Billie, Dua, Lizzo & Charli 💕
Speak now was at Tampa N1. I think everyone freaked out because it was (in my head at least) the beginning of the start of the speak now era because she said it had been on her mind a lot. I remember the stadium erupted when she started playing it, and she announced the re-recording 3 weeks later. Was never that into it myself either but it’s now a nice memory.
this has to be my favorite video of yours. the feel good vibes, the music, your (and our) genuine passion for this album, the swiftie cat Meeko! It just warms my heart ❤
OMG! Speak Now is the first album that I met Taylor!!! And it was around my birthday in 8th grade too. I was more of a Avril Lavigne kind of girl back then but I loved the speak now album because of the electric guitar on my favorite song 📜the story of us🖋 It still is my favorite song and the album brought back memories of 8th grade😭😢
this is my comfort channel, especially since Ash is a fellow Scorpio and I can relate to so much of her…. just dropping some love queen, keep up! ✨✨Love the new background and your kitty is so cute (and you’re beautiful as always, your makeup was phenomenal in this video) ❤
u forgot demi on re-recording the rock versions of (heart attack , sorry not sorry and cool for the summer) , she already had crazy notes back then but now they're even higher and sounds easier to her
Ash, I watch a lot of your videos but never comment. Came here to say… Peace is my song also. I’ve been with my husband for about 8 years now and for whatever reason that is one of the only Taylor songs I relate to our relationship. That probably says I need therapy butttt anyways, it means so much to me. The line “people say loves for show but I would die for you in secret” is everything to me. Also since having our son “give you my wild, give you a child” etc is all so present. I’m not an easy human to love and had so many walls up (hi daddy issues) but he was so patient. I never thought I would find that person and I did and I think so often about giving him what he’s given me and this song is everything to me.
I actually saw your channel first when reputation came out, I was a first year college student in India🇮🇳 so didn't have access to album at any online platform and money to buy the album, so I saw ur video to listen to album and just stayed all these years since. And now I am a working professional and I don't know if I'll be able to watch your reputation TV, cause I would be a emotional disaster 🥲 you have gotten me through some tough times. Best wishes😇😇 hope this makes ur day

Also “he was a moth to the flame she was holding the matches” is a good fucking line idk I love it
Just realized how half of this album is basically my childhood.
Am I the only one who keeps track of Miko in the background while mom Ash is freaking out? He's so cute!
to think the sparks fly was written debut era (correct me if i’m wrong) is CRAZYYYY
Electric touch is literally my life right now, I feel personally offended
timeless has been my fav ever since i've heard it and i need more people to praise it!!
Praising✨
YESSSSS BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!! HER BEST ALBUM 💜💜💜
Truer words have never been spoken.
I disagree personally, folklore's her best imo
@@lanadelreyheyso valid!!!!! love all of her albums but speak now is def my fav:)
timeless is one of her best songs of all time it should’ve been in the standard it should’ve been the title track i’ve been crying to this shit everyday it is so good i’m so proud of mother
I know right it’s one of absolute favourite of Taylor 😢
34:35
from the start of the tour i had only 5 songs that could break me into pieces if they were played and i wasn't there:
1. I Know Places
2. I Did Something Bad
3. New Romantics
4. Dancing With Our Hands Tied
5. no body, no crime
THEY ARE STILL INTACT! all of them
am i going insane or is i did something bad on the setlist? anyway my top 5 has one left, she stole ciwyw away and it’s my fav song from her so 😢
@@Izzywildflowerr idsb is not on the setlist 😭
@@Vlad.989 oh i thought it was i’m going to the eras tour next year and was excited for it rip 😭😭
i’m so glad someone else feels the same way i feel abt speak now (the song) BC I JUST COULD NEVER GET WITH IT??? AM I MISSING SOMETHING??? nothing has changed my mind abt that song
Okay so I haven't been a TS fan for a while now (I think the last album of hers I really listened to was 1989) but this album was EVERYTHING to me when it came out (I think I was like 16 at the time). And I really did not expect it to hit so hard all these years later, but fuck!!! I had forgotten that 'Never Grow Up' sent me into instant tears as well lmao and apparently that is still true! What a trip.
facts about how songs heal during a certain time in life and what lyrics and eras can mean for someone. shooot i was crying before one of my concerts ever started cause of how much that album healed me
The fact that we've gotten rerecordings of ENCHANTED, BACK TO DECEMBER, STORY OF US, AND DEAR JOHN, not only that, but you've also blessed with so many amazing vocals, our mothers are feeding us 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was at the Denver show last night when she sang back to December, it absolutely broke me. I cried the entire time.
the fact I can say I was at the album release show for my favorite album, got to hear never grow up and long live, and saw taylor lautner do a backflip on stage is possibly my biggest flex ever
When you realise the 1500s relationship Timeless talks about is Romeo and Juliet, and that’s how Love Story came into being❤my jaw was on the floor
Got tickets to see her in Liverpool and I am praying for more songs from Speak Now
ALMOST AN HOUR? ashley this made this awful week totally worth it you have no idea
sending so much love to you and the kitty
I'm sick of the electric touch slander I LOVE THIS SONG
I literally cried to enchanted and long live… this re-recording hit home on so many levels
speak now is so fun to me because its about hayley williams of paramore and a story about hayley being in love with an old paramore band member and having to watch him get married to another girl
I'm so here for the Castle Crumbling recognition because it honestly felt like getting punched in the gut the first time I heard it. But so many reactors kind of just glossed over it and I kept waiting for someone to appreciate it.
Literally sobbed at Long Live (TV) lyric video with the old music video.
Loveeeeeed it before and it hits different now
I never realised how much I loved speak now until the re record came out. It has so many hits! I’m so glad you enjoyed it too!!!!
Also would you listen to the barbie album when it’s released? It has Billie, Dua, Lizzo & Charli 💕
Finally!! The 1 one review I've wanted to see! I've had the album since release but Ashley's Taylor Swift videos are THE BEST!!
"It's the same thing just in different fonts". Oh that was a lovely line Ash, really really enjoyed that.
Needed this to end my evening on a positive note
Speak now was at Tampa N1. I think everyone freaked out because it was (in my head at least) the beginning of the start of the speak now era because she said it had been on her mind a lot. I remember the stadium erupted when she started playing it, and she announced the re-recording 3 weeks later. Was never that into it myself either but it’s now a nice memory.
this has to be my favorite video of yours. the feel good vibes, the music, your (and our) genuine passion for this album, the swiftie cat Meeko! It just warms my heart ❤
I'm so glad you also thought Electric Touch felt like a continuation of Superman, not lyrically of course but sonically
When she was showing the bracelets and said "this one's my favorite" my dumb ass thought she meant "this scar is my favorite."
this is my comfort channel, especially since Ash is a fellow Scorpio and I can relate to so much of her…. just dropping some love queen, keep up! ✨✨Love the new background and your kitty is so cute (and you’re beautiful as always, your makeup was phenomenal in this video) ❤
i’m such a simple person, ash uploads, i grab a snack. watch it all. 💘
As an only child, you are literally my honorary older sister. Your videos give me sm comfort girlie 💕
When Emma falls inlove is the older sister of Jump Then Fall
Never grow up BROKE ME. Instant tears, and I also think about my little sisters when I listen to it :')
Stop electric touch is my favorite vault track! 😭
I cannot express how happy watching you be happy makes me feel
Ashley hitting those dear john vocals was irresistibly satisfying
Meeko is giving me LIFE- through this video so far… like “meeko please come out of the closet” KILLS me-
u forgot demi on re-recording the rock versions of (heart attack , sorry not sorry and cool for the summer) , she already had crazy notes back then but now they're even higher and sounds easier to her
Ash, I watch a lot of your videos but never comment.
WHEN THE TIME WE NEEDED YOU, YOU CAME!!
The fact that Ashley and I relate to the same songs thanks to our daddy issues is so wholesome to me honestly 💖😂
I love how everyone is like "did you guys know what Sparks Fly is actually about 😏" and then they get to I Can See You and are DUMBFOUNDED
hey mom i just got tickets to see her in Madrid so this made me sooo happy, the timing of this video 10 out of 10
Your screaming and freaking out is just so good! And honestly, you are so right.
Ash Reacts (Ashley's Version) (From The Vault) (10 Minute Version) (53 minute Version) (Better Than Revenge Letdown)
THE THUMBNAIL ATE 💯
i was 12 turning 13 so to have grown up with this album and getting to experience it much more mature hit hard lol
This video is such a serotonin rush. This is exactly how listening to this album first time felt.
When Taylor said Speak Now she wasn’t talking about john mayer and yet he still had the audacity to say “why you no love me”
I actually saw your channel first when reputation came out, I was a first year college student in India🇮🇳 so didn't have access to album at any online platform and money to buy the album, so I saw ur video to listen to album and just stayed all these years since. And now I am a working professional and I don't know if I'll be able to watch your reputation TV, cause I would be a emotional disaster 🥲 you have gotten me through some tough times. Best wishes😇😇 hope this makes ur day
