I have a 53 wd45. Mine starts beautifully in the Minnesota winters. I have also noticed that it will bale with a smaller square baler and pull a wagon up hills at 1/3 throttle in first gear. My old 656 wouldn't even do that. It also pulls a 3 bottom better than the 656. They don't make them like this anymore. To bad. I bet if someone started making these again they would sell like crazy.
darn crazy kids what in tarnation do you need with a satellite dish 1:25 on a tractor for can't you wait to watch HBO till after you get the back forty plowed
@brole784 Well, The top of the belt is suppose to come flush with the edge of the pully. Not over it. One reason that it is suppose to ride like that is because it makes it stays tighter by clamping the V of the belt into the V of the pully. That way it reduces chance of slipping in the pulleys. Which causes a lot of wear.
@brole784 Well, Alot of people don't know your not suppose to do that. But hey! If it works, It works!LOL! It's just that I am a perfectionist when it comes to tractors.
Yeah sorry about that, I was 12 when I made this and had no experience making videos. It was probably three years before that when I attempted to spray paint it haha. It kept it from rusting though so that's all I cared about. Looks much better now that I'm competent.
It’s been a while now since I posted this video. I was only 12 at the time haha. Since then this tractor has been used in a wedding and a lot of field work. Had been running perfectly for six years straight but now it’s in need of a pretty thorough tune up. Might do an updated video in the near future.
i grew up with the row crop version and a old model B great tractors

I have a '49 WD that was upgraded to a 12 volt system. Runs beautifully and doesn't have any issues when starting.
Awesome tractor..grew up on a wd 45
I grew up with a WD45 in Wisconsin, We ran a 8 volt battery. Spun that engine over great all every morning all winter.
pulley width is adjustable on water pump, not sure why. as long as belt is not bottoming out in pulley, you are ok
I just bought one but I don't know how to work it my first time with a tractor ;can you show a video on how to work it please
I just happened to notice your fan belt is not wide enough. Belts are not suppose to run in the bottom of the pully.
What an awesome tractor

@brole784 Well, It ain't the biggest deal. it's fine for a while. It's just more ideal to run a wider belt.
Horrible "spray job" video made me dizzy watching what little I could stand.
