    Hi, I have a XM with the diravi steering. I did a lot of research and found these to work beautifully. Beck/Arnley part # 103-3095 .

    Hi can I ask, do you know where to get the seal kit that is now cx-basis?

      Link is in the description. As far as I know they are only one selling them. I have messures of them also somewhere if you want them.

    Great video, do you know where to get the rubber gaiters?

    • @dailyingxm
      @dailyingxm  2 роки тому

      Thank you! I’m afraid that they have been NFP for a long time. Mine are still in good order so I can’t give you correct answer for sure but I would try if 2 left side gaiters from regular XM can be fitted. Other option is to seek universal gaiter that is close enough to the original. If you want, I can measure out mine for you in few days.

      @@pablogimeno464 Hi, I have a XM with the diravi steering. I did a lot of research and found these to work beautifully. Beck/Arnley part # 103-3095 . The right dimensions and perfect for the long travel of the steering rack ( thinner and lots of ribs ).

    Did you have internal or external leaks on this rack?

    • @dailyingxm
      @dailyingxm  2 роки тому

      Hi, I really don’t know if this rack was leaking. My original rack started to leak in the right boot and after a while, it also started to leak in the left boot so I bought second hand rack and re-sealed it just to be sure. At this point I have internal leak from the inner housing and I’m guessing that the new teflon seal broke. I just received new one from a mail so I’m going to make another video where I try to solve this issue. If you have any questions, please let me know.

      @@dailyingxm thanks, I’m monitoring mine, I think it leaks a little on the right external side but not much. I’ve just discovered a leak from the suspension pipe that is just above the rhd steering gaiter so it had me confused thinking it was the rack . Is the rack seal kit the same used in the cx rack?

      @@dailyingxm maybe you know if it is too complex to take out the front rhd suspension pipe, I can see it goes to the center of the car just below the rack

      @@pablogimeno464 As far as I know usually, DIRAVIs start to leak from right side. Usually it’s easy to tell because lhm is running from end of the boot to tie rod end. There is also possibility that the return line have come off and it’s dripping from there.
      It depends how “willing mechanic” you are, from my experience almost every mechanical job requires lots of time and patience. I also can’t answer to you with confides that how big job it is. From my memory, there are two brackets holding it in place and I bet that it will be very fiddly job but doable.

      @@pablogimeno464 Oh yeah I forgot to add that, yes the kit is basically same but the oil seal that goes on the input shaft is different on a cx and that kit does not come with seal that fits on xm. Personally, I didn’t bother to source on that fits because I think that those rarely fail.
