WENDYYYYYYY 😱😱😱😱 Why you gotta go breaking my heart like this 🤣🤣 This video was soooooo helpful ... and the No.1 pen for me is the DecoColour so I am glad it came out better than the rest ... such a helpful video thank yoooo ! I wonder would they stick better if the surface was sanded ?? So If I sand my edges it will stay hopefully 🤞🤞🤞
Maybe Claire 🤷♀️ It’s certainly worth trying huh 😀 I think the main thing is that the thicker the paint the more it took to get it off. I don’t think that came across in the video very well 😂😂😂 Thanks for watching 😀❤️❤️❤️❤️
I really appreciate your thorough investigative works such as what you taught us about these markers we use to put the finishing touch on our projects. First , I’d like to Thank you for thinking of the importance of this and how a failure can effect your product, therefore also having an effect on your quotient of repeat customer. Secondly, it’s brilliant that you made this video testing these markers. I think we all know they aren’t your favorite type to film but your honesty and the necessity shown makes You absolutely a wonderful artist!!!! ❤❤❤
What an absolutely wonderful comment 😊😀❤️ I really appreciate it and it’s great to know that my efforts didn’t go in vain. 😀😀 You are very kind and I thank you so much. Stephanie. 👍❤️
I prefer a clear edge but when I do use a pen it's before my top coat. I just like to play it safe. Well done Wendy, it was a great test and answered my question. I always played it safe because I didn't know how well the pens would hold up. Thanks for test, much appreciated.
Thank you so much Christi. Playing it safe is a great way to be 👍 You obviously have pride in your work and love to create beautiful pieces 😀 Happy crafting and thanks for watching 😀❤️👍
What a great test! So great knowing what keeps and what doesn't. These pens can be expensive, thank you for the information. Think peace and stay well my friend.
Hello! I loved the video on markers. What I prefer is that I use more frequently is Ukida primocolor premium, for its brilliance and its hold. But it's the first time I've seen a video as functional as the one you did! You have made many and all useful! A thousand thanks Sabina☺️😊🤗
Sabrina thank you so much 😊 I try to make different videos than the normal kind to help and guide resin artists. I really appreciate your comment and time. Thanks for watching and your lovely comment 😀😀❤️❤️
Good test Wendy. I always wondered if the pens would eventually rub off. Since the deco colour gold pen is almost everyone’s favourite pen. I will be sharing this video with other crafters. Thanks for the experiments.
Excellent Wendy! I’ve never trusted a pen on the edges bc it’s just paint. I’d like to see what happens when a few of them sit there with water. Because it’s the condensation that would be prolonged over long term use. Especially with hot liquids like coffee or teas. Thanks for sharing this 🙌💯💯💯🌹🌹
Debrajo you are not wrong 👍 It really depends if you want to make decorative pieces or practical pieces. Both have their place ofc 😀 Thanks for your comment 👍
Ohh my gracious, thank you so much for this! On the bright side, it’s good to know that I can find a way to remove any paint pen mistakes before I seal them. ^_^
HI Wendy, Thank you so so much for a great Experiment tutorial 👍 🤗 like Claire, my no one pen was the DecoColoour I have got the gold & silver ones Looking forward to your next fab tutorial Lin ❤️👍✨🤗
That’s a great test! I don’t sell anything I make but, for those that do.. this will help avoid annoyed customers. Also, if I make something as a gift; I’d feel bad if it looked like hell after continuous use.
This was great, I often wonder how durable those pens are! I just bought a few pens I hope to use on coasters. As it's not a brand tested here I'll have to do a wipe test first!
These videos are like you are reading my mind, as I am trying to decide which brand(s) to buy gold/silver pens right now. But I do have a question about the chameleon powders/flakes you used in a previous video. They impressed me so much that I got both. Now I am trying to figure out how to use them. My sister wants a pen holder and sent me a mold. In trying to use the powders, my question is: if I can see through the applied powder in a bright light, am I using enough powder? Do I need to apply it well enough to just make sure there is a sheen of the powder over the mold, or do I have to be sure that the bright light doesn't show patches of thinner covering? I don't want to waste these expensive (for me) powders, but I definitely don't want to waste the resin by turning out inferior quality work. You are SO appreciated! Thank you.
Thanks for your question JayKB The easiest way to explain this process is to put on powder and blow off excess. What ever doesn’t stick to the mould isn’t needed. Make sure you have no missed areas but don’t worry about a bright light. If you are referring to the flakes It will look as if it is patchy and that is normal I hope this helps Good luck with your project 🤞👍😀
@@Toonpish I'm not sure we're on the same page. 🙂 I always work under a bright light, and this she's that my application is very splotchy. I'm afraid I'm putting on too little. I'm working with both flakes and powders. But what I am referring to is just the powder. Flakes...they were a mistake with my limited (hopefully, temporary) vision. But can you (I) put on too LITTLE powder? It covers the entire area that I am working on. It's just that it's not a consistent coverage. Is this going to show through when I put the black resin into my mold? The only things I have used it on so far are small pieces of jewelry. This hasn't been large enough to test the amount needed for powders, as the coverage was evenly distributed. I'm just worried I'm not putting on enough powder. Your videos showed an even usage of the powders, as far as I could see. (Which...🙄🙂) isn't something I can swear by right now. Swear about...🥴 I REALLY appreciate your help and willingness to answer (dumb) questions from me and thank you so much!
Okay 🤔 I think you need to be sure the surface is covered completely 😀 I take it the mould is a coloured one? So you can see the colour of the mould through the mica? Let me just say this and hopefully it might help you -- Mica sticks to silicone and once the silicone is covered in mica it can’t stick anymore, The rest will sit on top and will not do anything other than float off into the black resin. Take a soft brush ( like a makeup blush) and gentle blush over the entire piece. Turn it upside down and shake then take it outside and blow off the excess. When you check the mould again under black light it should look more uniform shade all over. It sounds as if you are overthinking things a little which is perfectly understandable when wanting the right outcome the first time due to financial constraints. I can not give you 100% guaranteed success, but if I were you ( and I never use black light) once you do that soft brush tip- you should be good to go 😀👍❤️
@@Toonpish you made an excellent point about the silicone not holding more powder. So far, I have been putting the powder on sparingly and rubbing it in well. But if I go back and try with those thinner spots and it won't stick, then I know it's ok. No black lights here, but I have a small hand-held LED light that I use for flash curing UV resin. My mold is a very heavy clear one that has diamond-shaped patterns (14) around it. I am trying to do the diamonds in different colors. BIG mistake! But you gave me the courage to try in one of your videos. It will take forever with a Q-tip to clean up excess powder/flakes. I'm using both. The flakes are gorgeous, but...not really worth the effort on large projects. (My husband would tell you that I overthink everything trying to get perfection in whatever I'm doing. 🙂) I am so thankful for your help!
