What a terrible company to work for. To be publicly ridiculed for something that Todd and Thurber have both done themselves. If you look at old shows you can watch them driving around without a seatbelt on. So for Thurber to be threatening to punch my kid in the face I probably offered to do the same for him. That was drama made for TV. I’ve done work at the colowyo mine and MSHAW doesn’t F around I either missed what they did or didn’t show it. But if it was as bad as they made it out to be Todd would not have had a say in the matter MSHAW would have kicked them off the mine site and fined Todd
and they would fine him everyday that those guys worked after being blacklisted. Even in construction my boss will tell me when osha people are coming and if i see ANYONE i dont know or trust,I follow all the rules. Last thing i want is when a contractor goes to hire me is he see's a bunch of osha violation on my record.

I have worked on multiple job sites that required full PPE with cranes over head and I understand that safety should always be #1 but that MSHA guy is a little extreme to cause all this over a seatbelt. Then again he was just doing his job.

Say what you want about Parker but his attitude was on point when it came to taking this seriously as a kid
It's amazing how they can't pass inspection yet when I worked as a train mechanic maintaining the worlds largest privately owned train with just a 2 other guys we never failed an inspection and railroad inspectors are notoriously picky and will cite you for every single thing they can. From air brake hose couplings being 1/4 inch too low to dust caps that have blown out of wheels, hell if a wheel was 1/16th of an inch too shy they would stop the entire train and make you fix it on the spot.
Maybe he found out some of his crew taking a cup of coffee while the others are busy or in mesirable situation.

Um that should've been taken cared of on day 1. Can't blame the crew if you don't pay attention. As a Supervisor, that should've been drilled into the crew since day 1 and should've been taken serious. Once the crew realize the importance, that's when it gets easier. Safety in the work place should be monitored most of the time.
