  • Saint John Bosco, also known as Don Bosco, was an Italian Roman Catholic priest, educator, and writer of the 19th century. Born on August 16, 1815, in Castelnuovo, Italy, he dedicated his life to improving the lives of disadvantaged youth. Don Bosco founded the Salesian Society, named after Saint Francis de Sales, to continue his mission of education and social care. His innovative teaching methods, which combined reason, religion, and kindness, revolutionized education for poor and neglected children. He also founded the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians to extend his work to young girls.
