Rest in peace, Iohan. Of all your videos, I probably watched this one the most. You were an amazing adventurer full of positivity, curiosity, enthusiasm and joy. It was always so heartwarming to watch how excited you got meeting new animal friends. You were an inspiration and you will be missed.
Whenever I have a moment of silence by myself, I'm thinking of you. I'm thinking of you each day since the last year when I found the sad news. So much, that is even weird for me. I've never been that sad for someone I never met, and for that long. Your passing hit me like any other. Neither musicians I admire. You were a symbol of all that is right in this world. An amazing human full of kindness, curiosity and a fierce will to to surpass oneself. You were so great that it hurts just to think you are not here anymore. Makes this world a sad place. I'm writing like if you are still here, but somehow you will always be. You still inspiring people, and forever will. For the rest of my life, I'll never forget you Iohan. What an awesome person you were.
Boy.. It's incredibly sad for me to scroll down to the comments of one of my favorite shows to see he won't be making any more of these. Life can be what you make it, and just this adventure alone, I think we can agree he made it.
I miss you, your personality, the music and how you entertained us. Adventures and life is everywhere. Find that peace and adventure my friend. I miss you. You inspired me to take those chances😄
Wow, simply jaw-dropping! I was not expecting you had a kayak with you and could carry all the gear on your back. Thanks for the inspiration! When ever I feel miserable due to the weather or something when bike-traveling, I remember your videos and remind myself that everything is possible! Keep sharing your adventures!
Iohab, I'm an older dude but I've purchased a bike mostly because of watching your videos. I'm conditioning to do a trip (hopefully). I sincerely am inspired watching your videos. I'm a retired broadcast TV engr and I'm amazed at your doing the back cuts where you have set up the camera to do the lead ins or follow shots. Lots of work for you! Thanks again my UT friend NC USA
Hey Iohan, I’ve been watching your vids and I gotta say they are very motivating and relaxing. If someone were to look up the definition of explorer, they would see you picture. I’ve watched almost all of your videos and just when I think I’m done, I find more. You’re one heck of a guy and your are truly blessed. Thanks for being us along on your adventures. We hope to see many more. Good luck and stay safe out there.
Wanted to add a comment about my dad who was in the 341st engr that was the first engineering company that started the AlCan hwy (1942). He said the permafrost was impossible to deal with and they ended up cutting trees and made a cordwood base after they kept getting dozers stuck in the spring thaw. I thought of him watching your videos and reminding me of the army bedtime stories he would tell me as a child and about bears and wolves (no lions, oh my!) and dealing with the elements. Thanks again for your videos !
This video, esp. with Xavier Rudd's song starting from 12:40 was a spiritual experince. Iohan was so deeply connected to the earth, nature and animals. I feel it made him able to overcome these extreme struggles. I wonder what other great stories he could have told. Or maybe he already gave his all.
Hi Iohan. I have watched all your films. I am not the first to say they are awesome. After some thinking I came to the conclusion that you are amazingly brave. And I really think that you are real explorer. There is no mountains that you would not climb and no river that you would not pass. Keep safe and healthy. All the best.
Your videos just keep getting better and better. Think this one is my favourite, love the rugged beauty and solitude of the north. Thank you for sharing.
Another epic adventure...Great film too! I cannot believe you managed to paddle those waters in the little inflatable kayak loaded with all your gear!!
An amazing video. You are one of the bravest men around. For you,no mountain is too high,no river too deep. Thanks Iohan for being an inspiration. Stay safe, god bless.
Iohan. Thank you so much for such an inspiring video. You determination is so big that it spreads willing to live out in the Wild as much into the Cities as well. Take care. We appreciate you very much. Be your way filled with spiritual strength and wisdom. We are waiting for you in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I think this is the best video I've seen posted on youtube yet! Wow, amazing camera work, editing, image / video flow! Super captivating, picturesque vistas. We all should be paying admission for this clip :)
Just a fantastic video! Thanks for sharing your amazing journey with us. Had to be both ridiculously challenging yet also soul cleansing. Inspirational for sure!
Wow watching this video brings back so many memories of when I went and did the Canol Trail. We made it to the river a few kms past Ram Head outfitters. My profile pic is in the valley before Ram Head. Thanks for the video. Cheers.

greatest video account of the trail I've ever seen. awesome music, nice production. thanks for letting me live my dream hike. knees are shot, but bike trip is still a possibility. thanks for the inspirational video. ~GrizzLee
Thanks GrizzLee, glad you like the video. I think even with a bike there is a lot of walking, but definitely much lighter on the body since most of the time all gear is on the bike cheers! looks up "see the world 13" for the full episode with more narration if u'd like
just watched it. spectacular!! Dream trip for me. I've ridden my motorcycle up the canol road to the NWT. BTW, my son's name is Johann. :-) subscribed and watching more. u da man! Thanks ~GrizzLee
Wow! That was terrific. I have that trail on my mind to hike . I live in Alaska and know how insane and deadly that country is. The river crossings yikes... To walk it has some but not all of those I hope!
dudee! i have decided to live my life in a verys similar way. in nature doscovering the world before it's gone. i am starting on nov 15th the east coast greenwaytrail from maine to georgia, then hike the appalachian trail in february. after that, i hope to complete the pct on my!! i would love to see you out in the world and meet you one day. i adore you. thank you for being you :)
will do! i have a few questions that i'd like to ask you about your experience bike touring, if you're available to answer any questions that would be awesome! my email address is leelukg@gmail.com
Hi Iohan, enjoying your posts and adventures. Just a point, but when paddling your gear round (e.g. at 17.00-18.00 in this video), swap your paddles round 180 degrees; the straighter edge of the blade from the shaft to the point of the paddle blade should be along the top edge, and the curvier edge should form the bottom edge of the blade and be fully in the water, to get a better catch on the water and give you more efficiency and control. Happy paddling (and riding). Cheers, Laurent.
thanks laurent, i got scolded about that 2 days into paddling the atlantic ocean to colombia, then i had it right for a while but forgot after and now i just did 50/50 on each side while in Oman since i wasnt sure, haha :)
Hey Iohan, awesome video again! They're always so beautiful. Your choice in tunes is awesome. What has inspired you to take on these lengthy trips? There's so much freedom in these videos. I feel I'm going to start doing these types of trips soon, you're an inspiration. I'd feel as though this would be a 2nd chapter, a new beginning when I start doing it.
not sure. i would do a trip then get idea for another one and keep things going, it kind of seems like the path of least ressistance and somehow it all works out at the end
Yeah man, it's really unbelievable what you've achieved so far. Thanks for these videos, be safe. You're awesome, man! I'm in Southern Ontario, Canada. I hope you have some plans to visit northern, and eastern Canada. It is just as beautiful. I wouldn't do it now though as winter is approaching! Cheers!
it wasnt that feasible in the long run but i did carry it for short sections to give a break to my hand, with all the muskeg I had to constantly lift the front of the bike to get over the bumps
Didn´t know he was no longer with us until I read your comment.
What an absolute loss for all of us.
Thanks for everything
I got the same attitude like Iohan and wanted to meet him in Poland, sadly it will never happen 😢. I was shocked when I heard about his passing

16:30-17:15 that part almost brought me to tears.
Exceptional video, beautifully combined with that song.

i cant imagine what those people went through working in the winter there. all the storms and the cold and of course dealing with old equipment.
You are a beautiful human, Iohan. I hope you can keep riding forever.
I am about 2 weeks from finishing the Appalachian Trail, thanks for the inspiration and advice. I'm 2038 miles into the hike..
Hi Iohan. I have watched all your films. I am not the first to say they are awesome. After some thinking I came to the conclusion that you are amazingly brave. Sadly he passed away in 16 of August 😥😢
The music works so well at 16:02. Reminds me of 'Into The Wild'. Glad you're safe man. Thanks for the upload.
I was thinking the exact same thing!
Thank you. Some of the scenery gave me chills and a longing to get back out in nature.

he was showing us that it was too dense to ride or push the bike and have to carry it on his back.
cheers
it wasnt that feasible in the long run but i did carry it for short sections to give a break to my hand, with all the muskeg I had to constantly lift the front of the bike to get over the bumps
Nicely done! The Canol has been on my "to do" list for quite some time, but you beat me to it. Wonderful job on the video.
