    It seems France is going the same path of Brazil regarding higher education, here Lula did the same thing helping the private enterprise build new universities and courses and giving state sponsored fees for students to go to private institutions. Now we have a huge amount of people with a poor quality higher education, and coopted by liberal ideology passed by these universities, and the owners of these private institutions have a HUGE power in politics after all the money they gained and will further push their agenda in the congress using the money that was handed by the state to them.

    I will say, I hate the American “big truck” thing. As someone who owns a 96 tacoma, that little thing can do anything I need it to. Wether its working on a farm 100 miles away from the nearest city or driving in town and still being able to fit in a parking space. Nobody “NEEDS” a ford F450 unless you are doing very specific types of work. My truck is pretty damn gas efficient, has never left me stranded, and isnt an eyesore when driving anywhere besides the middle of nowhere. Ive never really had the inkling for a giant vehicle for any other reason than thinking trains are cool.

    Love this guest. Another thing about university that sucks is that you really DO need to go to one to make good money most of the time. This is bullshit. Now because of capitalism going to university is less and less likely to get you a good job and what of the people who just aren't cut out for university? Good jobs and good living conditions should be accessible to everyone, not just people who are talented in a particular field. It's not our fault that we're poor because we didn't go through the right program university or that we didn't go to university/college at all. It's not because we're lazy or stupid. It's because the economy and job market sucks for everyone.

    The real problems with homeschooling are that it's prohibitively expensive for most families, and parents generally lack the education expertise of actual teachers. The socialization problem is way overblown, and as far as conservative religious influence is concerned, if we can imagine a socialist alternative to conservative gun culture then surely we can imagine a socialist alternative in homeschooling. Socialist homeschooling may even prove vitally necessary in the long term.

    • @Ajente02
      @Ajente02 7 місяців тому +3

      Socialization problem is not overblown. School is one of the first and most important spaces of social interaction of kids in their youth. Most of their relationships until adulthood are formed there, as well as the social skills needed to survive in society (how to teamwork, how to share with other kids, how to solve conflicts peacfully, how to ask for help...). Cutting all social interaction with kids of their age is very problematic.

    Good for Hakim being absent on this episode. He would go full-blown National Socialist on Alice💀
    Also in 1:00:05 pls ask this question into HasanAbi ffs. The state of Turkish left is very interesting to talk about with him.
    It is almost none from the surface but you really can't predict them as people on the mainstream liberal TV can go full communist when real shit goes down before returning to lib talking points. Our lefty movement was so strong during the Cold War that the NATO operation Gladio literally created the largest underground bureaucracy in human history to counter it.

    : France is that sibling America absolutely hates but refuses to disown. We wouldn't be who we are without them and vice versa. I like and respect the French - if they've gone through four republics, two empires, two kingdoms and a fascist dictatorship in the time we've been around with our singular stupid ass republic, they have to be taken very seriously - but god damn it, the urge to make fun of them is utterly irresistible.
