So, one of the cornerstones of Elenor's character is the death of her mother in the Rosario Raids. It was a terrifying experience that affected her very deeply, and I can't imagine that Woodes Rodgers didn't know about it. With that in mind, the fact he brought Spain to Nassau really adds an extra sting. I've mentioned in other comments that I don't think we're meant to 'ship' Elenor and Rodgers as such; or rather, their relationship isn't meant to be healthy. In the beginning it feels to Elenor like they are on equal footing. He listens to her advice, and seeks it out. He knows the awful things she's done, and tells her he loves her anyway. But we see as soon as she becomes his wife how quickly her role changes, is *expected* to change. And here, with his actions, we see that Rodgers never truly knew or understood Elenor at all, nor she him.
Madi and Eleanor, one of the most credible relationships of two characters who supposedly grew together but just learnt of at the last moment... and yet, as I've said, it's totally convincing. Credit to the acting and writing.
just like they brought their own asses there lmao, also wtf, that's impossible, are you telling me that the First Nations didn't have horses befor europeans arrive ? I'm very curious
the asian character is joji and he did have a line in the very first episode. when the blacksmith sharpened his sword, he handed it back and said "again".
And yet if someone told Flint to sacrifice 3 randoms in his crew in exchange for the urca, he would do it without hesitation. That has always been Flint's flaw. To him the ends will always justify the means because he is a product of loss, pain and suffering. A great man indeed, terrible but great.
@@BhBc8f8 he does what he does, for the greater good. He almost always sees the bigger picture. He'd kill a dozen men if it meant he could save a hundred.
Okay, I will take one for the team and defend Eleanor for once. Yes, she killed Vane out of revenge but if you noticed, Vane's death was a great completion for his story arc as he inspired the resistance in Nassau which played a heavy part of season 4. If the writers had Eleanor die just out of revenge for Vane's death, then thats how people will remember her character, while having her die like this gives more weight to her backstory and character development since her mother died in a spanish raid, and believe me, Black Sails is all about characters.
Totally agree with this. We were all enraged by what she did to Vane, but her backstory and even the fact that she was pregnant, added so much more to her death, that it was, indeed, heartbreaking to watch. Excellent story-telling!!💯
12:53 ........ maybe a little too excited about the violent murder of one of several morally grey characters.... Eleanor wasn't perfect, she often valued power and financial gain over the lives of others, but that's the case for Silver, Flint, Vane and Jack as well, and they never got any vitriol.
You guys need to react to The Last Kingdom on Netflix. Definitely reaction worthy. And if you like these history action stories like Black Sails and Vikings, you will definitely enjoy watching TLK 😁🙏
I am finally catching up with the 4th season. I binged the whole series this weekend. I love it! I have Black Sails and TLK, so i prolly should get on Vikings. I have heard a lot about it.
PCGaming I’m neutral when it comes to Billy. He just felt betrayed after everything he tried to do for the pirates, but at the same time he made a very stupid mistake because of his vendetta against Flint.
@@bushidoblvck_ in truth, it kinda feels weird hating on a specific person, since basically everyone in this show is a horrible person (with the exception of a very few). In truth i really do not get their hate for Woodes, despite the keelhauling
ww12tt yeah, Woodes was just as bad as the pirates. I can see why they would hate him because we’ve followed the pirates for so long and we saw things from their POV. He was definitely one of the most complex characters of the show.
"That Asian dude in the back that's always doing stuff, who is he?" Those of us who have seen the ending of the show: ......... Shhhh let's not talk about this
37:26 Ummm, so did you become a Ninja halfway through Season 1 Suraj? Honestly thought you gave up too as we couldn't see you then you show up in the Season 2 Premiere LOL :). Also, am so looking forward to your post discussion in the Series Finale and hopefully, someone from the cast will show up like they did in Blind Wave's Season Finale reaction and answer some of your questions too.
The Spanish raided Nassau twice & so did the English (I think!) & that pretty much ended all the pirates who were living on the island at the time, they all ended up taking all their stuff & moved to different countries or back home to England!
After you guys finish black sails - you have to react to a film adaptation of "treasure island". Any adaptation will do, including muppet treasure island and treasure planet
Joji is the samurai pirate and the pirates and Marron Chiefs came to the Camp because they heard pirates took over Nassau that's why she didn't send the chest
With Eleonor I hated her since the death of Vane and it's a nice sting to Rogers that it was his fault that she died but I was a little sad of the Eleonor pre-Rogers, I wish she would have come back to the pirates' side. Esp. Flint cause they had a strong bound in the past and they never returned to it. All we saw was her and Rogers and Flint's tales of whathisname. Even though she died in Flint's arms, I was disappointed that the writers never went back to it. For one thing I never bought he relationship with Rogers, it happened way too quick to me. And when Flint gave himself up as hostage, I was exstatic cause I thought it would rekindle the Eleonor-Flint thing but never did. That said, I don't hate the execution and decision for her death cause the reason that this is a great show is that no character overstay their welcome, if their story ends, that's it. They don't linger like Game of Thrones in the late seasons.
lol i didn't want it like this neither!i mean i get why they gave elenor this heroic death since she been around from the beginning it was still way too generous though-and yeah on top of nassau being a thriving place it was just a threat to the(british, french, spanish, etc)empires
I know i'm a little triggered here, but that dude next to Mickey annoyed me more than he usually does with his reaction to Eleanor's death. Yes it's easy to hate her, she has done some really bad things and many of the fans focuse solely on them. But such shallow judgment can't put a finger on the complexity of her character which makes her more human than anything. Going through her past, in a way, you can reason every choice she made. For me she is one of the best characters in this show filled with amazing characters. All i can say is: #LongLiveTheQueenOfThieves ;-)

At the hands of a Spanish soldier? You might as well say the same for Vane, who died because he had brutally murdered Richard Guthrie back in Season 2.
