They want to provide 8 couples but realized soon after that it wouldn’t be feasible at that moment. Which is why they returned with this update once they had the freed up resources and time. It literally can not be pandering if this was ALWAYS their vision, instead of bowing to some political agenda or group after the fact.

Nope. It’ll make you happy while you play it, but once you put the controller down, the shock you go through when you remember you’re alone will make you feel worse than ever :) Still worth it, imo. Feeling happy, then sad, is better than feeling nothing at all

What's the fourth option? The three relationship preferences have been covered. If you're talking about a male Kay with a female Yu, the update isn't about that. I think you might be essentialising her/his character in a way that the developers aren't interested in and which might not be helpful.
I got this game hoping it would be sci fi broke back mountain. But man the voice acting for male Yu is horrid. Its like he's being voiced by an A.I program with how emotionless he is and that's the strange part seeing how sassy and witty the Female actors are.
I will get it once/if there is a physical version of the game at normal price. The limited run has been, surprise surprise, ruined by scalpers once again and the game is now being sold at prices I refuse to pay to such criminal asshats. As I dont support the practise of scalpers I will only buy physical versions from a store or from rebuy people who ask normal prices. As that is not a thing right now It seems I wont be able to support this game. No physical, no buy. I have a large backlog though.. so that wont be a problem. Just a bit sad to see it become harder and harder for people who actualy care about collecting games to actualy collect them without being exploited hard. Games should always release physical and digital. The choice should be there. Anyway, fingers crossed some company OTHER then the stupid limited run games will print these games out at some point so people can actualy buy a physical copy for a normal price without a time limit breathing down their neck.
Male Yu just looks weird. And you might as well just let players mix and match however they want, even as far as letting them date clones of themselves. Weird, yes, but wouldn't be any weirder than it already is

Because this was always their plan from the beginning. They just couldn’t feasibly develop the 8 relationships they wanted for the game with the time and resources they had. They planned to come back and add more after launching the game.
