- MBR Acres is a Beagle breeding farm located in Cambridgeshire that "ship" out puppies just weeks after they are born, to be experimented on.
Animal welfare activist and actor Peter Egan says it is "absolutely disgusting" that these dogs are being bred for experiments "which have no value at all."
Veterinary surgeon and science adviser Dr Andre Menache explains the pharmaceutical industry continues to use dogs to test drugs intended for humans. He says: "These are 75-year-old tests at a time when we have 21st-century technology that could replace those animal tests."

@@Aloh-od3efdon't understand your argument......there is sufficient data to know if many drugs are safe for humans or not.....Companies that use non human animals for testing drugs that are intended for humans make millions of ££££s.....the more tests the more millions ....the more experiments the more millions .......for a limited group of people.....who can they be🤔....there is always some element of risk with medicine....testing drugs on a dog or a rat or monkey is not a fail safe sign that is will be safe or even useful to humans....drugs act differently on different species....drug companies are mega rich and powerful.....I doubt their motive for testing any product on helpless creatures is the quest for the better health of the human species.....

£2,000 per puppy x 4,000 puppies per year = £8,000,000 per annum gross income. Gross in all meanings of the word.
If the pharmaceutical company can be cruel to animals, they can be cruel to humans. I think we can see the evidence of this in recent years.

What product are they testing them for - I've seen pictures of rabbits with raw sides and bones showing that were 'operated' on for cancer research? Also the RSPCA had managed to get a law ensuring animals were stunned before slaughter and they now have to stand and watch cattle slaughtered to obtain 'Halah' meat - that practise alone is medieval in its entirety - humans are a disgrace to this planet.

I am speechless! I have signed petitions to stop this before! It is more than shameful, on everyone involved in this! As has been mentioned it is entirely unnecessary and done purely for profit. What kind of people (animals) not only allow this but make money from it!! There is! They’re outside the place day and night. They managed to rescue 4 dogs on Wednesday before they got caught.

I am shocked seeing, hearing and now knowing what's happening. And in Britain, England of all places. I only spoke to my sister, this morning, saying how Britain has animals welfare Police, a rarity around the world. And then I see this, to conclude it is absolutely a 1000% onacceptable. My sister and myself are already for decades saving cats, having them sterilized and giving them a lovely warm home, food, vet care, but on your own there's only so much you can do. This has to be fought through court, as Britain has animals welfare. But primarily those dogs have to be freed, free from the horrible loneliness, assault on their body's, turning them literally mad. No it's unworthy for this country. Fantastic it's been brought out, let's hope now, that people wake up to this horror and vehemently expose their anger. In this case quantity counts. A few people are absolutely not enough to demand closure of this farmaceutical unusable madness........
Thanks Kevin, i think people don't realise that this still goes on, we assume that science has found better more effective ways of reaching new meditations, but these useless, pointless methods continue and with absolutely no benefit to mankind. When I and many others were protesting this year's ago we were looked at like we were the problem yet the same people looking down their noses and judging us as terrorists yet claiming to be horrified by the cruelty are the same walking brain dead who Hand out support to the RSPCA who themselves do next to nothing to stop this horror, this situation only covers a minimal amount of the abhorrent treatments that have and continue to go. Animals don't start wars, don't backstab you, don't lie and cheat they are the only living creatures that can be trusted. The horror needs to end!

This must be made illegal, it is torture with no point to it whatsoever!, it is just a money making scheme for the companies involved. You are so right it is a concentration camp for dogs. Three to four thousand dogs a year.....and in the UK i am appalled. In some testing facilities, I believe they take the dog's voice box so the place is quiet. It is disgusting beyond belief seeing these poor dogs in such an unnatural environment, being tube fed toxins until they die. This is dreadful!

Well said. Many objections going into relevent government departments and bringing attention to the cambridge concentration facility is a positve step.
I live in Ireland and we have horrific cruelty here including recent shannonside horse abuse scandal which is kept alive by top race horse owners. I would gladly travel to cambridgeshire to help with objections to close this secret torture chamber for animals.

Problem with over breeding is that .... these puppies will have a lot of health issues. So they do not make good 'test' subjects....

I went on a protest march in the late 1990s against Huntington Life Sciences and am appalled this beagle torture is still happening!!!! The argument is if first world companies don’t do it, third world ones will - and it will be much worse. There should massive exposure and consumer education.

This is torture. Imagine living in this hell place day after day and not being allowed to be a dog. So many beautiful souls living in misery and then murdered. Its so sickening.
No living creature should be bred to be tortured and abused. I don’t care what they want to test but as usual, anything goes for the sake of money. I’ve just had to witness my 16yr old dog die due to heart failure, but he had a brilliant life filled with love from a puppy right up to his last breath as I held him. This is heartbreaking, I would rescue one tomorrow if I could. This must stop immediately, it is inhumane and disgusting. 😪😪

One can sign petitions, contact the active groups already on the ground in cambridge if we are unable to travel to this facility to add our personal objections, and asking how we can assist in other ways.
If one can write a comment one can sign petitions, email relevent government people, or even make posters.

Well this has been going on for years i was protesting this last year to get enough signatures for a hearing in parliament its horrendous how this is legal in the UK the things that go on to these poor babies babaric and its good to see it being talked about on a bigger platform as a lot of people are unaware this is happening here in the UK ppl often mistake the fact testing for cosmetics was banned in the UK for this so i was often told i was lying or wasnt aware myself though this is legal for household cleaning products and medicines ...
