Not just for war but it applies to for more aspects of life. The battlefield is not just one for combat. Like you said from any one thing you should be able to know 1000 others. True sages of wisdom I feel are lost and why it’s so important people implement philosophy into their lives. You’ve seemed to have a new spark of creativity and passion with your videos. Every thought in the Book of Five Rings is so well thought through and packed with innate experience that yes, every time I read it your always learning something you didn't pick up before or your able to extrapolate more meaning out of the same passages. Though most of it is directly related to the heat of combat, even Musashi himself states that through understanding of one thing deeply, you can take that knowledge and leverage it to all things you face in life.

If you want to know about Musashi's life I suggest you read Miyamoto Musashi his life and writings by Kenji Tokitsu. It has the book of 5 rings and Musashi's other writings in the book.
The only incorrect thing Natural Hypertrophy said is that Musashi is self taught. Musashi learned swordmanship from his father. In Tokitsu's book Musashi was criticising his father's technique when he was a boy and his father got so angry that he threw a sword at him.

Miyomoto was awesome for writing this book hundreds of years ago. Not only does it give us insight on how life was back then but also teaches us principles for today.
Long story short musashi was extremely dissapointed on how many useless techniques were being taught by fake masters and to find your own way and strategy.
If you read about him when he was 13 and dualed the grown man, miyomoto used a bo while his opponent used a short sword called wakizashi.
He never fought a spear man and his only lost was against an opponent using a jo.
He tried to find a lord to serve but couldnt because unfortunately he had a lot of followers where some didnt have the best reputation.
Thats why when i read this book, i since he wished he would had change his way and strategy.

And if you like Vagabond I would also strongly recommend the novel "Musashi" by Eiji Yoshikawa which is the original work that Vagabond is based on.

@Natural Hypertrophy I took your advice and just read all 241 pages of the Book of 5 rings today. I drew many paralles from the Way to the path I am trying to navigate in my life and I feel I am better off having read this book and will reference its teaching frequently throughout time because of its timeless practicality.
Perfect timing too because my Addex Mark Wildman edition adjustable club bell came in the mail today so I'm feeling especially inspired to cultivate my dicipline and baptize my weakness through salt and steel.
Im still thinking about Emptiness it was the shortest chapter I will have to reread it but was he talking about a form of flow maybe?

So speaking of Training & Morals , i am at a loss when it comes to *offering help* , i usually love to help people genuinely giving information , explaining things , even making programs for my friends when they need to ..
and the moral dilemma when i see people in the Gym specially Newbies maybe they still new to something like a Deadlift / Squats and i can see their form is not good at all ... (Not form police form check) but i mean the form is really off as they still don't know what they're doing still ..
so the 2 sides in me goes against each others :
One side : i should go and help out genuinely even if they didn't ask for it because doing good in itself ,if i can help out 2 guys maybe save them some gains or even injuries at worse .
Other side : No i should just leave it be (remember people saying : don't offer to help out in the gym unless they asked for it) , and i just mind my own business and walk away ...
and yes ofc i won't be helping every guy in the gym and be on the look for it .. but when i can and the chance is there ...
