Inn South Africa we also do deep ripping. Generally we will put one shank going more shallow right in front of the deeper tilling one. 1ST 400 mm 2ND 600mm. This prevents upwart compaction - such a thing is possible here and the implement also require less power.
@@mexicanfarmer Over here it happens in wet sandy soil, we have large areas with less than 14% clay percentage being cultivated. These 10% -14% soils have to be deep ripped .
Very, very impressive. This is a great example of the brilliant minds that built the greatest country in the world. Absolutely brilliant way to break through that hardpan that years of repetitive practices have created ( no till excluded).
Good day from Ontario Canada Yrs ago said to dad , go deep. Now up we have subsoil that comes up & mixes with other soil, which does not improve it. Good luck what u should do is leave a strip in middle & mark it, wait for results. Thanks
I've seen an old skidder pulling a deep wing that lifted everything between the two ripper shanks, but how else to undo soil compaction, without bringing up subsoil?
We had a hard Pan deeper than we usually do tillage, so when there was a lot of rain and flooding the beans died and we needed to break it up so the water can drain faster
Keep doing what you do! Not many men at all here in america can do what you do. They know nothing about farming and argiculture. Nothing about keeping and caring for livestock. They know nothing about farming equipment or how to fix things and mantain them to keep them running. Sometimes I feel like chashing my dream of being a homesteader and having my own small family farm, means I'll be doing it alone my whole life. Because not many men enjoy this type of life or even want to do it to begin with. It is very hard work, and not for everyone. However, the rewards are worth the effort. If only there were more people who enjoyed/lived this lifestyle, perhaps it wouldn't be so hard to meet someone new who 😂
That's a bada#$ ripper I have an ancient 1shank ripper I run about 22 inches deep on around 3-5ft middles here in West TN I also use it for erosion control
@@mexicanfarmer I'm jealous of your soil. I shudder to think of all the rock and orange clay that thing would bring up in my fields , however you would probably be jealous of all the rain I get, so I guess makes it fair. 😊

Wow, thats interesting, never heard of upward compaction

Hello! That's a fine ripper! Greetings from Portugal.
Just right, simple and makes a great job without fuzz,. Keep up the good work🤠
Yeah, thanks
Rock protection? I don't see spring resets or even sheer bolts. So what happens when you hit a large, buried rock?
It has sheer bolts, but haven't broken one yet, we have almost no rocks
If that thing is custom built…. What an amazing, awesome, beautiful piece of equipment you made. My hats off to you my sir!!!!
Yes we had a guy build it for us, He's good at what he does
@@mexicanfarmer no kiddin😀
That should break up compaction. Nice work!
Ótimo trabalho de subsolagem do solo ,👏👏👍

Great looking design. I like the bit of overkill better than field repairs.
dirt doesn't break therefore it can't be repaired.
magnificent piece of earth prep equipment and ingenious engineering : fantastic, in fact ⁉️⁉️🔥👊
Can someone tell me what the purpose of deep ripping like this is for?
We had a hard Pan deeper than we usually do tillage, so when there was a lot of rain and flooding the beans died and we needed to break it up so the water can drain faster
@Mexican Farmer gotcha I sure appreciate the explanation thank you
@@chadtaylor1530 no problem

Now that's what u call a ripper
Back where I grew up it would rip the hard pan up and most of the clay tile out.😄. Dang that digs deep.
That some good looking dirt!!

Good golly! That looks like a ripper on the back of a big bulldozer! Sure would hate to hit a big rock with it.
Impressive. What are you growing?
Mostly corn, barely, wheat and beans
Pero eres mexicano o norteamericano?
Soy de los dos
Wow.....that thing will be ripping up tile lines left and right..
That has to be all that 9300 will suffer.
Look up Dave Koenig Enterprises. Real deal! Factory made parabolic 4' Ripper!
Great footage

Would work great for the Imperial Valley in So. California.

I'll take no till any day! That would get so damn and not as well they five shankes.
What hard pan
Exactly
Good thing your in Mexico cause you wouldn't get ten feet in Maine, you'd be hung up on bedrock 😂 That's pretty slick rig though.
Yeah, we have olmost no rocks in our area.

You need an aggressive double crumble attached to it or have someone following behind you with a field cultivator with double crumbler.
Pretty common to see it California but bigger
