Awesome video! I sold a few of my 1/10 to get a scx6 and don't regret it. Expensive but worth every $. Plan to sell my other 1/10 too to get another one 😀😀😀 Large scale is a complete other experience, so real.
Finally, a real review on the SCX6 instead of the infomercials from those that got freebies. Also just a great RC video.. Thank you!
Those types have gotten worse nowadays. It's even got people crossing over from "vlogging" calling themselves doing rc reviews but have the camera stuck in their fugly faces for 5, 10, 15 minutes until they show the rc, but only for a few minutes...... AND THEN immediately stick the camera back in their faces AGAIN!

Great review of the truck! I was just curious to what people though of them and I think your video was one of the most honest ones I have seen. Everyone else's was ok but they were just so hyped up about it being the newest and coolest thing and giving a review after one run was not what I was looking for. I appreciate you going out and getting used to it and some decent run time over various areas before giving your thoughts.

Great review! My crawling days are in the past but I keep my Losi Comp Crawler running in case I get an itch. That is the cool thing about RC. We all go through phases and you never know when something may come back in your life. I had the gasoline 1/5th HPI Baja buggy and that thing was a blast to build and drive.
it is usually just the issue with available space ^^, i have now a hobbyroom plus a storage/hobbyroom in the basement, but it is getting tight :D
definitely-too big a hobby to do everything. I've sort of laid off the quads for a bit. Crawling is always a chill pursuit which I like. Gas cars are awesome!!
@@speedbastard81 I've just left the truck in my wagon for the last few days lol. Haven't found a good space for it yet.

Great video, and you are a big boy with a big truck dammit! I haven’t been doing any surface stuff since I sold my 8th Scale Mugen buggy and suddenly had time and money again. Despite the high price this seems like an excellent value. All the electronics are top notch, and that’s a hell of a transmitter for an RTR. Doesn’t seem like they cheaped out anywhere, really. And as a crawler, you won’t have to buy a new set of proline tires every 25 seconds, which really adds up.
They did pack a lot of good stuff into this truck :) Those tires will definitely last much longer than the rears on the Felony!

If I pull the trigger on it, it will get a FPV airunit installed on board for a whole new experience. Would also replace the RX with ELRS. Great Vid
Great review. I have a 1/8 redcat shredder which ticks the boxes for speed etc but as a Wrangler driver I would love to get my hands on one of these to do some scale crawling. Ugh. Spending dilemma for sure.

One of the best scx6 videos I’ve seen on here…. Have you done any upgrades or had any issues with it now that you’ve been running it for a while??
There's a trick if the battery goes out and you don't want to carry all the way back to your vehicle. Simply power it off and move the gear servo to the center between high and low. Once in neutral just loop some rope around the front bumper and you can roll it anywhere you want like a wagon. Probably easier if you hold the front wheels off the ground. Better than carrying it all the way to your car. 😉👍

I like seeing a review video with somebody hitting difficult obstacles. I use two 5000 batteries and one 5500 just to get me back to the parking lot. 🤙
Thanks for that honest review - much appreciated! I look into installing FPV gear (DJI O3?) into it. Are the windows tinted by default? Is it a sticker foil that I could peel off maybe?

Yeah if you're crawling with it don't try to catch it with your ankle when it rolls it'll leave a nice gash. Lol. I did a fender delete and removed my mirrors.
If SCX6 comes in a kit I might consider it. I like to drive things fast in addition to rock crawling. 4S for the SCXIII, 6S for my two 1/8 Traction Hobby Rubicon & Tank 300. I think the SCX6 should be powered by 8S capable ESC & motor. At this scale, its movement will be very nice at speed. Here is the problem though: it will not last long at 6S, and 8S will probably damage it in just a few minutes.😆

I was hesitating whether to buy it or not, with your video I finally decided to buy it. Do you know what would be a good video? An on the road comparison of a trx4 or similar vs the scx6 to see if the capabilities are similar or not. I haven't seen a comparison like this on YT

Great video. I’ve had mine for about a week and I love it. The only issue I’ve had is a seemingly minor roll over causing a side mirror to punch through the body pretty good. I think that’s just a factor of the weight. Collapsing mirrors would be nice. I think I’m just going to reinforce the body where it cracked and leave the mirrors off from now on.
yeah can see that happening - I've just been lucky with the rolls its taken. Be cool to see some different bodies for it altogether.

Excellent review! What this thing lacks in speed, it totally makes up for with its scale like characteristics! Not my cup of tea, but very cool! If you like it, it's totally worth the money!

3brothersRC is coming out with a 6s sensored outrunner. Plenty of speed and 1lb less than stock motor

i have an issue with mine which lost my interest when i bought it :( servo doesnt turn to the right at all ! turning circle is bad to the right. straight out of the box ! cant find a fix. tried calibrating and everything.

I lost mine at the bottom of a river for about ten minutes. Sunk like the RMS Titanic. When I found it, it drove away unscathed. All I had to do was dry out the foams after. Even the bearings survived.

I get this for 259 dlls it turns on and steers but wont move, the Front diff wont move either any Tricks for this???

@@DiscoverRC literally the only thing I can fault on this rig.
An SCX10/TRX4 is $550, add a Brushless Motor ESC, 2 speed transmission, metal gears everywhere, you’re at $900.
That’s not too far from $1100.
That’s how I look at it.
Though I will say an SCX6 is best just plain stock, cause if you mod it out completely, that’s when you go broke.

A fantastic job on the review yeah at one point I was thinking of getting a X-MAXX but the price of the truck and all the parts pretty munch made me just want to stay in the air with my planes&quads LOL.

Nice review. Too expensive for me unfortunately when it translates to I think £1100 here in the uk. The other consideration is that no one I go crawling with will have one so you'd very much be the odd man out.

That thing is massive wish I had the $1,000 bucks I would snag me one up. If I did buy it what other batteries work on this or do I have to use the spectrum smart batteries
You definitely don't need the smart battery - any 5000 mAh with EC5 connector or adaptor to EC5. I am not using a smart pack.
@@DiscoverRC That's good. Most of my batteries have a deans connector on them can I chop off the EC5 and use one of the dean's connectors

Ok if u want something to 'play with'. Theres not anywhere to compete with 8th scale, much less a bigger 6th scale. & No replacement parts nor upgrades are available anywhere, now.

Axial/horizon hobby should HAVE reinvented the scx10 6x6. I would have paid as much as this 'thing' FOR a scx 6x6.
It's all play lol. Anyway, seems like all spare parts are in stock on HH site. I only clicked on the first 15 items or so since there are a lot of them. What 8th scale or larger 6th scale is better? Maybe I'll get one.
