I'm 58 and I love it for my older skin! It's not only an uplifting and healthy look but it's also a skin care product. I pat it onto my skin and then press, just as you did with your palms. I'm using the Flushed color on my cheeks and bridge of my nose for a playful outdoorsy look. I let it sit for a few minutes prior to using the Face Pencil where needed. It doesn't stick to my hair if I use the proper amount and let it sit and sink into my skin. Oh - and humidity - I just apply a loose fine powder if needed. For me, the Miracle Balm is a game changer!

I agree! Actually I didn’t care for it at first because it’s a different feeling and the smell had to grow on me. I gave it a week and have grown to really like it. When I was younger my skin was super oily but at 61 it’s changed. It doesn’t feel tacky to me. And it’s a ton of product for the price!

      35. Can’t be any paler on spectrum. Skin is fine tho can get drier due to lots of air travel between NYC/Helsinki (and weather changes).I love JR. I’m a minimalist most times. I use my skincare(ole hendriksen) then MB in au natural. Skin pencil, cool lip gloss in pink or nude shade and MB in flushed or Miami Beach. Sometimes I use WTF. Sometimes just all iver MB dusty rose or su kissed. Brows and lashes tinted. So done in 10 min. MB takes a bit of practice (some like brush, some fingers) but when you get it, it clicks. It never gofers heavy or tacky to me and no hair issues. Just took a few mini MBs, face pencil and couple of lip balms for 6 week Africa/Europe travel. Never easier. I do think it isn’t for everyone. But it is for me.

I have been using it and playing around with it since it has come out. The Miami Beach and Flushed give nice color. The game changer for me was buying the Jones Road Everything brush. I put the brush into the miracle balm, and pick up just a bit. I press and blend the miracle balm into my cheeks with the brush. It isn’t tacky that way and gives a good subtle wash of color.

I feel it's great for the minimalist and who doesn't mind all that glow. If you have to use JB with it to make it look good......I mean what's the point? I can just use the JB and maybe a little blush/bronzer and be good to go. I have seen their ad and those face models all have a good tan on their face before applying this......very misleading/marketing in my opinion. I am basically less is more but I don't want to walk out in the morning looking just glowing with no color. If I have to try so hard to make a product work for me.....I ask myself......is it worth it?? No! There is so much hype out there about certain products that have 5-star reviews.....I almost just avoid them now. Thank you for your honest thoughts, Britt!

I bought the dusty rose as the foundation and flushed as the blush. I actually love it. This may sound strange, but my eyes are bluer when i wear it. I have very abused skin mature skin . I am an outdoorsy person and never wore sunscreen or makeup. I have noticed an increase in positive attention since wearing it. After showering in the morning, i first apply tretinoin, and then i lightly tap on castor oil. Very very lightly. I let that soak as I dress. I then lightly apply the Dusty rose all over, then the flushed on my cheeks, a tiny bit on my forehead, nose, and chin . Then, a light application on either side of my neck . This application was shown for those similar products that were the first to come out that are in a tube. I dont remember that products name. I just , on your recommendation, tapped on the lightest touch of IT powder foundation. Just to slitly set it. I like the effect, BUT i also still enjoy the look and feel without added products. I do live above 7000 feet, where it is dry winter and summer. Love your review! Thank you.

New sub! Like your style 💄👌 I am 60-ish, lifetime very oily skin, now down to T-Zone oily. But my cheeks are dry now, with snakeskin crepey layer on top. Never had dry skin before, and my cheeks hurt with little prickles when I smile. I now know how uncomfortable dry skin must be. I love the Miracle Balm on my cheeks, powder highlighters now look reptilian on my cheeks, but this balm hydrates and melts the crepey. In summer humidity, my cheeks go back to oily, but in winter I am slathering on this balm.
Just bought the new shade Pinched Cheeks. I use Bronze to reduce my red capillaries and for warmer makeup looks. I have Dusty Rose, Sunkissed and Au Naturel. Even wear it at night in winter. I really think a person needs that dry crepey aging skin to appreciate what this does. No problemo for me over sunscreen, and on top of powder (if using) is best. I pat into the skin with 3 fingers, I go very light, can always add more, or tissue blot if you put on too much. It does soak in, if it doesn't soak, then your skin doesn't need it and you can be glad of it. ❤

I love mine. I have 2- they last forever. I travel with a dimes worth of miami beach and flushed, side by side (because they're so thick!) In a teeny, nickel sized, container. It lasts for 2 weeks of travel! I don't mind the tacky feel. It moisturizes, illuminates and adds just a touch of color. And it takes 10 seconds to apply (fingertips and palms) . But, i do appreciate your review.

They were great for my dry skin this winter when I wanted some moisture and color to look slightly highlighted but not at all glittery. I actually love Magic Hour as a highlighter. I get a bit on my fingertips, warm it up by rubbing my fingertips together, and lightly pat on my cheekbones. The glitter isn’t obvious when it’s warmed up like that and it’s super fast. And not sticky.
I can’t see putting this all over a face.
I have average, older skin but I don’t use this all over. Just cheekbones.

I got MB in Pinched Cheeks (lot more color payoff) but the texture is too much for me with other makeup. But I was surprised that I like it a lot on weekends by itself over SPF. I get a super small piece, warm it up on the back of my hand, and pat on my upper cheeks , using leftover on my lips. Less is very much more, so I think this pot will last me about 100 years
In general, I’m seeing that non-makeup people often love JR, esp. if they have older skin (I’m 57) and/or live in a dry climate (I’m in Colorado). Lot of people who enjoy makeup seem to hate it, particularly MB and WTF. (I love WTF)
Their return/exchange policy is painless - I ended up exchanging MB for their lip/cheek stick, which I’m waiting for now

I bought the four-pack of minis at the holidays. (And they accidentally sent me three minis and one full-size.) I have mostly used them as a little highlighter or lip balm. There is one slightly more pigmented color (Flushed) that makes a nice no-makeup subtle lip and cheek color. Magic Hour is super sparkly, but it does look nice on my lips. I find that rubbing the balm between my fingers until it is very thin and soft helps. I have used Dusty Rose on my whole face, after sunscreen. I made sure to let the sunscreen set completely first. I wish the little pots were metal or glass, and I think they should sell a more moderate size, like the mini or slightly larger, and maybe sell the regular size as a jumbo one. Because the regular size is not great for carrying around with you. And the price of the large one discourages a lot of people from even trying it. Bobbi Brown hasn't asked me, LOL, but I'd love to see the mini size be available all the time, in a recyclable container. The problem is, if they do that, they will raise the price of the minis, which are already not exactly cheap. Oh! And I'd love it if I could use this around my eyes; that would add to the value greatly.

I have the Miracle Balm in Flushed and Golden Hour. I’ve had them for more than a year and still don’t know how I feel. I like the Flushed way more and occasionally do use it as a light wash of blush, but it feels like a slog to use and makes me irrationally angry. My main issue is that there’s just too much product! If they could make it half as big, I would have a better attitude toward it and use it more. I know they occasionally come out with mini sizes but they are too small to be worth it. C’mon Jones Road, this Goldilocks needs a “just right.”

Apply with warm fingers, like after washing your face. You’ll feel the balm melt while swirling in the container already. And you’re supposed to just tap on the face. Since the balm is melted you don’t need to rub

I enjoyed the video and your thoughts on the Miracle Balm. Though I must ask that if you have to work that hard to make a product behave is it worth the bother?
I have tried the Miracle Balm in the store. I didn’t like the texture and the sticky feeling it left after application. The marketing claims make it seem as the ONLY product needed for so many makeup needs. Also not all “older” women have dry skin, if I over hydrate my face I get breakouts. I have somewhat normal skin and I don’t want to look greasy and I don’t like a sticky surface for my hair to cling to. This product was a pass for me.
I tried all the different Jones Road products at the makeup counter and I honestly wasn’t that impressed. I love the idea of simplifying my makeup routine. But I don’t like the implication that hydration and skincare is key and THE panacea to many makeup and skin woes. I think it is very strong marketing toward mature women and their “dry skin” that is popularizing the Jones Road brand not always the quality of their products.

I couldn't really care less about the miracle balms.. I have the nude one which works like a primer when i use it... otherwise i'd rather just use vaseline for extra moisture (at night)

I’m wondering how this does with fine lines and wrinkles. Every commercial I see is for older women. I am 52 so, yes, I’m older. I also have extremely dry skin . I have tried so many products for mature skin (made specifically for fine lines) and I have been disappointed with all of them so far. I’ve been wanting to try this so that’s how I found your channel 😉 Is this waterproof? Wondering how it would hold up in the Florida heat (sweating) and swimming pool.

    • @BrittWitkin
      @BrittWitkin  4 місяці тому +1

the brand doesn't mention it being waterproof anywhere that I could see - I think if you use a very small amount, it could work. But I too am curious about how it will hold up in humidity when the heat hits over here. It wouldn't be my go-to because it is heavier, but some people swear by a small amount being just what they need on lighter makeup days.

I’m glad reviewers are trying this stuff now. I bought it out of total curiosity, and because the white-haired older model looked SO great in her after shot. I’ve been using Bronze for two months, and I’ve decided I really wish I had my money back. I’ve tried using more, using less, using it alone, using it under light foundation, using it over light foundation. The smell is perfectly nasty, which is another disappointing thing about it. I found your review thinking, “Maybe I”m just using it wrong…?” Well, I’m giving up. I’m 69. I still have fairly glowy skin (It was oily much of my life). I was hoping for a healthy color sheerness to pair with a concealer here, but this stuff sinks into every line and pore. Maybe I’ll just use it as a leg moisturizer and call it a day. I won’t be buying anything Jones Road again.

Similar experience for me. I’m 53 with dryer skin. What I’ve found is there’s no real reason to get more than one color. I got the sample sizes with four colors. I have to put about four layers of the flushed color on before I see it and then it feels like a layer of gunk sitting on my skin. That’s the other thing, it just sits there. It feels just as gunky at the end of the day so I don’t think it’s moisturizing? So disappointed. I loved the idea and thought it would be an easy option. It is not.

I have a question for you or anyone reading this who might know. I am trying to get back into makeup I have had a bunch of babies back to back and have been nursing straight for like 5 years now almost. But I have like really messed up skin. It's been getting better but I believe I damaged my moisture barrier and never realized it an my skin just got burned and burned so even though I should have very oily skin it barely produces moisture. Due to all this I am super red over my entire face and I have acne scars. Like old big ones pretty much every where. I have the hardest time with makeup. I have to put a lot of moisture on my face just to actually be able to put on make up and it all just comes off or settles very badly. I don't know it just looks terrible and I have tried a lot of stuff. When I try and bronze it just looks red. So I have been binge watching jones Road reviews to see if I can gleen if this would be good for my face. I actually do use castor oil on my face and in like 30 minutes it's completely absorbed into my face. What do you think?

Don’t keep switching products.

@@missmayflower I have a regular skincare routine that is working really well I don't have overly sensitive skin it's just sorta always red all over bc I lived in the north west in dry cold climate and wasn't doing anything for my skin I don't know why guess I was just young. I didn't even know about the skin barrier then but I believe I damaged it and didn't even realize that was what the problem was for so long that I just burnt up the under layer of my skin. Anyways it has gotten much better over the years and castor oil at night before I go to bed has really been helping. I did go see a dermatologist not to long ago but she just said there was nothing I could do but get Lazor and Micro dermabrasion treatments. So she wasn't a big help lol. Anyway I use essential oils and they don't really bother me. I am more sensitive to artificial fragrance but I was more wondering about how the makeup would work with my skin. I can't get any other kind to work well. Thanks for your input ❤️

Why would you even use this if you're in your 30s or even 40s. Wait until you're in your mid 50s then talk about products that you now claim are "heavy" and "greasy". You will have a completely different opinion when you reach the age where other foundations that are supposed to make you glow don't do a damn thing for you. Since turning 53 about a year ago I started noticing that nothing I tried made my skin glow or look pretty and I'm a fitness person who eats a super clean diet of mostly organic fruits veggies proteins and moderate carbs. I've tried completely cutting caffeine, alcohol, and many other foods that make the skin look dull but nothing has worked. I've done diamond glow microdermabrasion, IPL, red light and tons of guasha massage which all helped to bring some of my glow back but this product is what finally made me look as youthful as I feel from my lifestyle. If you're under 50 you probably don't need this but once you hit that hardcore perimenopause/menopause stage it may be exactly what you need. WTH do any influencers in their 20s or 30s or even 40s even care about this brand? Oh right clicks and money. Also if you prefer chemical scents over natural scents that sounds like a personal issue. Personally I would rather smell like plants than cleaners.

Magic hour is meant to be a highlighter. That’s why it has mica (not glitter) in it! Of course you wouldn’t want to apply it as a blush or tint 🙄 Dusty Rose is meant to be an all over tint for fair to light skin tones. The brand doesn’t warn you away from using it this way. It’s recommended when you take the quiz! All JR balms are a wash of color that is buildable if you want more payoff. I don’t own Jones Road yet. I’m doing research and looking for people who know how to use it and give an honest review. You’re honest…a plus for you, but you seem too jaded against this brand from the start of your video. You don’t appear to know how to use the product so I’ll keep researching. No disrespect intended…I have seen other utubers go the opposite direction with way too much shine to love. Maybe I should just dive in and spend some money…and invest in a great finishing powder 😁 btw, oily gals should never use this. Am I psychic? Nah, just realistic.
