Thank you so much for sharing! As someone who is not excel savvy, you have helped me make the basic line graph, I have been trying to figure out for years!!!
I have followed your instructions on your video which has been very helpful but I can't get the spacing between the baseline and the other data to show up on my graph when I go to make it. It connects all the points together.
MaryLeigh226 is there a blank row in your data set between the data that you want disconnected? That is probably the easiest way. Another way is to right click on the data point that you want disconnected and select format data point and then no line. Hope that helps!
FemmeLifeOrg sorry I got an email with your question but it doesn't show up on this page. Your question: Hi! How do I add the gap between baseline data and the following data? Answer: either adding in a blank horizontal line in between baseline and intervention data OR by disconnecting the line on the data path (double click on the data point to select only that point-->right click -->format data point-->select no line) hope that helps!
Late reply, sorry, but I’ll answer in case someone else has the same question. You have a few choices: 1. Add a blank row in the raw data or 2. Right click on the data point on the graph and format the data series to ‘no line’.
When I do this my spaces don’t show up in the graph. Like you have between your first three dates then the second set of dates .my graph doesn’t recognize the space .
Sorry don’t check comments often but I’ll answer anyways! Do you have a space in your raw data? That should add one right away. Alternatively, on the graph select the data point that you want the line to the left to disappear-right click -choose format data series-click on the paint can to get to series options - then on the line select no line
Sorry late reply, just saw your comment. You can either add an empty row in between sets of raw data or double click to select the data point on the graph, right click and select ‘format data point’, and choose ‘no line’
@@jennabales2144 how do I know when I need to use it? Like how do you know which date is consider the baseline? How many days should the baseline go up to?
@@LemonDropTopHopScotch You should be taking baseline data prior to any intervention, at least 3 days worth but really enough to ensure that data is stable and that the behaviour isn't already increasing or decreasing (depending if its targeted for increase or decrease) for some other reason. Are you in a course sequence? This will likely be reviewed in much more detail at some point if you are.
@@LemonDropTopHopScotch sure you can, there are also alot of great groups on facebook where you can get great feedback for these types of questions where the response may be quicker
You don't explain how you draw the Phase line. You didn't draw it so how did you place it where you wanted? You never explained the process. You assume too much, you must go slower and explain what you are doing otherwise the video is of no value.
At 2:55 in video- click on your ‘insert’ tab and select insert line. As soon as you click anywhere the line will automatically insert itself and then you can drag it to where you want it to go.
Out of the 15 videos I watched, this one was the least complicated. Thanks for uploading this tutorial!

Thanks for this! I have been needing to figure out how to do these properly for ages!
I'm just learning how to do these. This video was very helpful! I can't wait to watch more of your videos!
Hello. I wrote mine down like yours but my line graph did not separate between the spaces. Is there a reason?
Every semester, this video saves my butt.
You explain so well with an outstanding gentleness. Asante.
Thank you so much for sharing, I'm Brazilian and your video helped me a lot

We need more people like Jenna Bales. If the Avengers were real I have no doubt Jenna would be one of them.

Excellent demonstration!
I really enjoy your channel.
I appreciate that!
Same! I wish I could have a tutoring session with you on graping
Jena I have a pretty crazy schedule but if there’s a specific topic I can try to make a video within a few months!
would it be the same procedure for momentary time sampling?
For MTS you would graph the percent of + intervals, over sessions or days, yes
thank you! you just saved me !
would you like to do some consulting work for my comany Safe and Stable Families Wellness Center PC in Richmond VA?

Thank you so much for your help🙌
Happy to help!
thank you so much!
THANK YOU FOR THIS
thank you
You're welcome
Why do you need a baseline?
Baseline data helps show whether your intervention is effective or not.
