- Let's take a look at my Matchbox Rolls-Royce collection, from early 60s models to the 90s, including a Japanese model. Plus I'll unbox the newest model to arrive, and I'll show you a couple of models from Tomica.
Great RR collection 👍
Thanks Rudi.
Great collection of cars. For me it's all about the vehicles. Boxes are nice to have but the cars are meant to be a hands on experience
It’s an odd feeling knowing that a car you’re holding has never been handled before, in perhaps 40+ years. But yep, this is meant to be a hands on hobby.
Beautiful casting 🤩 and even opening parts! I miss those good old matchbox wheels
Nostalgia is a powerful thing, and these cars really strike a chord with me.
Perfect RR & MATCHBOX
Thanks, Mehmet. These Rolls Royce castings are some of my all time favourite Matchbox.
Finally found clean matchbox Rolls Royce to my collection found at local swapmeet, nice casting!👌
Oh, the gems to be found at a swap meet! Well done, V.J. 🍻🦘👍
Surprisingly I'm the fourth Dutch speaking viewer commenting, you've got quite a following in the low lands! Awesome collection, I only have four Matchbox Rolls-Royce cars, all different models, and they're some of my prized possessions.
I was in Holland as you were changing from the guilder to the euro. I was embarrassed by the level of English being spoken...Anglophones are so lazy when it comes to learning other languages. The first Audi TT I ever saw was in Amsterdam. My most vivid memories of cities around the world are of cars I saw there, lol.
This is one of my favorite castings in all 1/64. I love the accompanying story also, ha ha. I’ve got one of the newer Toyota Century models on the way from EBay. I’m with you, it’s all about the cars....not an investment instrument requiring perfect care of the box. -David
Thanks David. Ebay can send you broke if you let it but if there is something specific you're looking for, it's the best place for a quick result. I use it more than I should!
I bought tons of matchbox cars from Woolworths in the 80s, I never liked those blue plastic boxes, so I threw them away as they didnt seem as collectable as the much nicer original boxes with the drawing of the car. But I have the late 80s dark red RR, AND the gold coloured RR. but I managed to aquire older Rollers, the Lesney ones. But your collection is so good.
Thanks, Stormtrooper Vader. The Rolls Silver Shadow II is such a classic casting from the best era for MB. I could happily triple the fleet and keep going. 🙄👍🦘
blue corniche is my fav, i had it as a kid and if i am not mistaken it came with the white/blue boat and trailer
There is a gold one out there somewhere with my name on it, haha.
Nice collection greetings from holland
Thanks Tim.
Personal preference indeed. These are collectibles OR simple toys to be played with by children. Really, what good are they inside a box? Yet, I feel afraid to open them. Strange. I’m with you. Open them or not, as one wants. Some I want to hold in my hand, or even roll around. Some I can appreciate through the plastic. Locked in a cardboard box, it might as well be a rock. 😊👍👍
Great Collection 🚗
Thanks, NW. 👍
I use to have the second oldest RR in your collection. No big deal ripping open those blue MB boxes. I was never crazy about them. I prefer the boxes with picture of car on it.
Everything was better back then! They knew how to make things properly. Man, I feel old 😂
@@buildingtheultimatematchbo257 I wish we could go back to those better days.
Matchbox Rolls. Royce collection
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I had a little rolls Royce car a long time ago too.I had a corgi blue whizzwheel from 70s and I had on that was a kind of silverish color matchbox size and I think it was a Lesney but might have been a corgi and it’s driving me crazy because I’ve tried to find it online but can’t. It’s a big phantom looking one like from the 50s and there are ton of those out there bu I almost could’ve swore mine had a red interior and a little tiny window between the front and back seats.I always loved rolls Royce as a kid
I recognise these symptoms, John. Sorry, buddy, but you’re a Diecast Addict. Polite people just call us ‘collectors’ 😂😂
May you enjoy many hours searching for that one piece that is lost in time...and when you do, may it be replaced by that other one that went with it.
Welcome to the channel, John. I hope you find what you are looking for, my friend. 🕵️♂️
@@buildingtheultimatematchbo257 haha, your right, I’m gonna start collecting.Hey I found out it’s a Tomica Rolls Royce😂.Its gonna be my first in a long journey
@@johnavy1722 Tyrone’s top tip: only use eBay for specific hard to find pieces. Otherwise, Facebook marketplace or other local sites are the cheapest way to add to your collection. Diecast conventions are good, too.
@@buildingtheultimatematchbo257 Thanks,I saw a cool Corgi limo today from the 60s that has a tiny TV in it and I think the guy in the video said it lights up because the car takes a battery.I knew I was gonna get into this hobby.I think I’m gonna start with getting my Rolls Royce collection started and go from there.I had that old 1970s corgi Rolls silver shadow and mom gave it to me after I moved out but I never hung onto it but now I’m gonna chase those old gems back.
Tyrone, I am late to the party! 😳😳😳 However, I must admit, that I TOO do NOT collect cardboard! Like you saidm I try to maintain the box if possible but it isn't a prerequisite! The cars in MY collection are just THAT... MINE. I am the only person that needs to be happy with them! Besides! My offspring will probably sell them off in an estate sale for $0.25 each! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But, as you said at that point...I don't care either! Touché Sir!
I get told off occasionally in the comments about destroying packaging so I’m aware it can be a big deal for some. And I do get a pang of sadness sometimes, as another very old box or blister hits the studio rug but as the French proverb goes, ‘the destiny of a glass is to be broken.’ 🤷♂️😂
❤❤❤❤you are very coolll❤❤❤
Nice casting cool box and also nice big logo of matchbox were did you get that.
Thanks. The sign was on Facebook Marketplace. I wasn't sure what I was getting in terms of quality but it is doing the job.
@@buildingtheultimatematchbo257 ah Okey thanks mate
hi,.. I like your show, but do not be concerned with destroying boxes, just buy loose,..it will cost you less.
