Hey HW - another great video. On the stereo loops, could you edit the loop to make the preset pan hard left or hard right? That way you could select between 2 different analog drive pedals (or even stack them) in 1 loop in front of the amp (say a KOT and a KLON type), and then still have another stereo loop for other stuff. Thanks for doing a video so quickly, you're an incredible asset to the Kemper community! Honestly I've gotten less and less impressed with it the more I see it, but that's probably just me.
For me it's the opposite. I was just about to get my KPA and I couldn't decide if I want toaster or rack. Personally for my needs Stage is just perfect. It's the same Kemper, nothing more, nothing less (well, maybe a little bit more, because of extra FX loop, which is insane). It saves me a lot of money, because I don't need to buy remote and case/bag for the unit. All I need to do is build new pedalboard. I think this is an absolute win. Amazing unit in the form which takes less space, less weight and comes cheaper. I notice a lot of people in comments are trying to start a holy war, saying that other companies did better floorboards, and perhaps this is true (user-friendly, better screen, etc), but people seem to forget that Kemper mainly is a profiler which sounds AMAZING, compared to other brands. All additional FX comes as a bonus in my opinion.
Shon Stutes there’s no extra features. The toaster and the rack that are powered with a remote are actually imo easier to use. Lots of videos from kemper. Not a lot for the stage and you need to power it. Same features, different layout.
HW, my Stage randomly freezes and the screen just says...KEMPER PROFILER on it. No buttons or knobs work and I have to do a power cycle to get it going again. Have you experienced this? Is it because when I'm connected to the Rig Manager, my computer times out and goes into standby? Just curious.
Hi Tone Junkies, just received Stage and plugged my guitar in straight away. There’s annoying hum and buzz that can be muted by input noise gate, but when you’re playing even on clean preset/rig when the sound fades away you can still hear noise in background. Watching your videos I haven’t noticed any noise. Is there something wrong with my unit or it needs some tweaking?
Very important question: is the Soundquality the same? Is the CPU power the same? Would you compare one of your best profiles on each of the devices ??
I'm going monitor out but my reverb & Delay buttons do nothing? (even when I load something.) How do I get them to work? I can put an effect on A through D no problem but not on the Reverb or Delay Buttons. Going out monitor out left into a mono power amp.
HW.... I am a first time Kemper user and my Stage just arrived. I am looking for a good Tone Junkie pack to get me started. I play Praise and Worship music. Which pack would you recommend I get first to get me started? Thanks.....Greg.
Bigswampbushcraft Definitely the Free Pack!! Tons of great profiles and even a free worship performance in there. After that look into the ACE30 or the Match C30. Both are $10 packs and are very popular for Sunday mornings! Thanks dude!
Looks like a great product. I have to say though that it doesn't come across to me as something that i would take to weekend gigs. I would be afraid of it getting spilled on, trashed, etc, and be out $1700. I would have loved to have seen a version without a profiler. Just one that allowed me to store my profiles, make adjustments, and MIDI that was less than $1000. Missed the mark for me...
Splittin Aces I think that most of the hardware cost would be the same with or without the profiling. The modeling would still require the same DSP processor, kinda like Helix vs. Helix LT. They would have to reduce hardware components to reduce cost, but in this case I’m not sure where they would save since it doesn’t have an expression pedal... Maybe the I/O on the back?
@@Erik_Nordlund i agree. I think they could save money on the controls and display. It wouldnt need to be near as tweakable. I would rather buy another rack unit and a nice midi pedal. I really want a Kemper Amp, and i surely will get one some day. I'm already using a multieffect for live playing (POD HD500x). Now, this came out but i think i prefer the kemper amp with remote control over the Profiler Stage. I almost never change anything while playing live. At first, its kinda unconfortable with guitar on and second there's a lot of beer on the stage and in front of it (depending what kind of gig). I would be too scared :-( Is there any real advantage for you using the Profiler Stage over Kemper with remote? Maybe i just dont get it. Thanks! (i'm not native english, sorry)
Azlann I used to use the hd500x also, but I do ALOT of switching on stage. I didn’t have enough money for the kemper and the remote, so I actually now use the POD as a MIDI controller and it works fantastic. Not as easy to program, but you have all the functionality of the remote minus the looper. Highly recommended as an alternative to the remote. Best of luck to you brother!
Ok HW, Anyone else, I have an Axe Fx 3 and I have no complaints about it at all, More amps and cabs than I will ever use, sounds great, Editor is easy, many many good things! However I must be honest in saying that I only use maybe 8 specific amps and a handful of patches and am very content with that? I always thought that the Kemper was a modeler and the term profiler was a gimeck? Sorry? NOW! after my music directer at Church started using one, IM BLOWN AWAY!! I am sooooooo leaning towards selling my setup and getting a Kemper. I have never owned a real tube amp and good cab so that whole feel thing is very subjective to me? The fact that the Kemper actually profiles the amp I can for the first time actually hear the difference. My concern is that the Kemper is a decade old and in concerned if I buy one then soon there will be a new version of Kemper and so im hesitant? The Fractal has waaaay more than I will ever need and or use so im stuck? I go by what sounds good not feel and I know that will not relate to you true players but that is how I see it? So, should I sell my Axe and get a Kemper? Im asking because I dont know enough about this to make a decision on what will work better for me by facts rather than emotions?? Can you give me some thoughts on this??? Thanks!!!
If you already have Axe Fx3 then don't sell it. Kemper is a little bit better in simulating tube amps but not that much so you would want to sell Axe fx3. Also, Axe fx3 has a superior effects quality comparing to Kemper so it wins in that area every time. I own Kemper Stage and love it but I did try axe fx3 reverbs, delays etc and it sounds much better then what kemper has (I do own many paid profiles, including tonejunkie profiles and effects).
I don't know if I missed this - but can the floorboard also be used as a remote to control the rack unit? thinking, for example if I got this for live but could plug it into my rack in the studio and use as the remote then I won't need the remote anymore?! Would be cool but either way great product and video!
@@thegodless2904 for live use only - easier to transport and don't have to remove the rack and remote from the studio if I don't want to. Was just an idea 😂😉
@@IanNorsworthy Fair enough but a rack bag would be a lot cheaper and easier, more money for a new guitar then too ;) Also it has MIDI out so i see no reason why you couldn't use it as a controller for the rack though you would probably have to re-route the midi commands to match up with the preset locations. I used to do something similar many years ago when i ran a Framus Cobra or Marshall JMP-1 with a TC Electronic G-Major using a Boss GT-3 as a controller.
I’m not seeing anywhere if there is a direct out to be able to run a second Kemper off of the direct signal from the Kemper Stage. Does anyone know if this is possible?
@@Triumphinchrist1 No idea, just ordered it for 1599 EUR @ Thomann Germany plus a Moog EP-3. They say 1-2 weeks delivery time, but typically if not in stock it takes longer than the guess. Wanted to have a Kemper since 2012, but >2000 EUR with floorboard was not within the budget I was willing to pay. Now the usability is a little worse for editing, but the functionality so much better than 2012 (e.g. performance mode, delays, reverbs, great profiles from MBritt or TAF, better overdrives to come soon) that I can not resist any longer.
Would you recommend buying the Rack Power Version with the remote or the Stage ? I Mean the price is an arguement, but can it hold up to the Rack versions?
the head or rack def. let the other companys do the floor pedals. Thinking this floor unit might have problems with connections on back, with jacks coming loose etc.. The head with the remote is way to go for me and many others Ive been observing.
I believe that the stage controller can function as a dedicated midi controller. It's really up to you which is best. I prefer having the head unit away from the stage, away from drunk people, beer, etc. The remote can handle abuse. It's tough as nails. I would not trust the stage profiler on stage in that environment.
If the price wouldn't have been the reason for me not buying the Kemper for 7 years, I would have selected the toaster and the fcb1010 with uno fw. For tweaking the sound in the practice room, the toaster seems to me better suited. But 25% less than toaster+remote and easier to transport lets me chose the stage.
In my opinion the product seems already old.. Mooer ge300 has tone capture and a best screen as the headrush.. Maybe Kemper has more true sound but for the most of people is hard tell the difference.
I dig the concept but way to many buttons options.... and banks, parallel amps, cab's, EQ's ,push this button with that button and you get this but if you select this button and go over to this stomp box and loop effect you get a reverb while programing this switch allocated to this loop and you can send it over to any foot switch you want by simply saving it to .... Ok I'm lost now. Let's go back... I guess I'm to old school but again they seem like a cool deal but plug and play baby !!!
As an owner of the powered rack system with floorboard this unit seems unnecessarily complex and will surely invite a stray beer or bottle of water .. sorry but it's a NO from me... thanks for the "making this review 🙏🏼 x
You must be new to Kemper, because if you get up to speed with Kemper‘a interface, it’s actually pretty intuitive. Yeah the Kemper from any other system is a learning curve. But they didn’t make the stage to be the same as any other multi effects pedalboard (which would be counter intuitive to their original plan and design). To me, Kemper is original and with all that it does, it makes it really approachable.
A thought on this: some people want the expression pedal on the left side and some people don’t want the pedal so I get why they didn’t add one but I agree I would personally like it.
@@aaronshortmusic It is something that doesnt reallly matter in the grand scheme of things. But helix... headrush... gt1000... ge300.... all have built in exp pedal.
Should be a very easy software update to allow you to press and hold A/D simultaneously to select entire stomp section. Same thing with X/Reverb for entire effects section. And that’s if they haven’t already thought of that (mine arrives later today so I can test it then). If it isn’t in there yet... a future firmware update could easily add that ability.
@@ToneJunkieTV But just to clarify, you can't save an entire stomp section on the unit anymore and have presets for those group of 4 slots? At least not until the editor?
They seem to be implementing exactly what their customers ask them to be implementing on the forum... as long as those do understand the technique right. It just takes some time...
But, why the stage kemper is cheaper than kemper head + remote if it's all the same if everything is the same i think it is not fair Kemper + remote owners have to lose money if they want to sell kemper + remote everyone wants less equipment when on a tour, the price should be cheaper I understand that but it is not fair to the owners of kemper head + remote and i am one of them
Would you rather they drop the price on the head and remote before you try and sell yours? If you are worried about not getting as much when you sell yours... be thankful they didn’t drop the price of the heads and remotes. Because that would mean you would get even less when you sell. So it’s a good thing for you they didn’t lower head/remote prices. There are plenty of people who will still use head/remote... especially those who don’t want their KPA out in the elements of a rain or shine festival or those running a full pedalboard of effects and don’t want to double their footprint by having the Stage next to all of that. I got the Stage and I’m not selling my head/remote.

I don't now about you... but if they keep putting out new products (and if I'm interested in those new products) I hope they keep lowering prices of new stuff they bring out. A) I see no reason to ditch the "old" (original) profiler. I love it. And B) If I'm going to be dipping my toe into new product waters... the more affordable the better. =) And for those new to the Kemperverse... more affordable products means less of a price for entry so it is great for them also. The only people I see this affecting negatively is people wanting to sell off their old kemper gear to replace with new Kemper gear. I don't know how big of a percentage of Kemper customers that pertains to. I'm usually not one to ditch old stuff just to get my hands on new stuff. I'll hold on to the "old" stuff and if it somehow becomes obsolete (which I don't see anything Kemper has released causing the old stuff to become obsolete) THEN I'll ditch it (at a loss). But that is just how technology works... the longer you hold on to it usually the less you'll get for it when selling it.
Toaster and remote had a stable price for 7 years and the price is still staying same for new ones... that was VERY fair to users. If you bought another unit 7 years ago, it will be worth max half the price now...
Making this way to complicated. I honestly think they should of not came out wth this. let the helix and all those have the floor models. Also i looked at one of these floor models and the first thing to go will prob be the input jacks etc.. where the chords go etc. in time loose connections will happen, does every time. Maybe im just full of shit. Lol, I;ll stick with my O.G. kemper.

That guitar always impresses me. What pickups are in it?
I don't know if I missed this - but can the floorboard also be used as a remote to control the rack unit? thinking, for example if I got this for live but could plug it into my rack in the studio and use as the remote then I won't need the remote anymore?! Would be cool but either way great product and video!
Why on Earth would you buy one of these when you already have the Rack and Remote?!!
Seems to be planned to connect via midi. Reason: you could produce a dual amp profile, like with the Helix.
@@thegodless2904 for live use only - easier to transport and don't have to remove the rack and remote from the studio if I don't want to. Was just an idea 😂😉
@@moskitoh2651 ah makes sense! Thank you for the reply!
@@IanNorsworthy Fair enough but a rack bag would be a lot cheaper and easier, more money for a new guitar then too ;)
Also it has MIDI out so i see no reason why you couldn't use it as a controller for the rack though you would probably have to re-route the midi commands to match up with the preset locations. I used to do something similar many years ago when i ran a Framus Cobra or Marshall JMP-1 with a TC Electronic G-Major using a Boss GT-3 as a controller.
Could Kemper make a combo unit without the profiling capability. Just the ability to play profiles..
They say that removing that feature won't really make the unit smaller or cheaper. So I think we will keep seeing it on all units.
Are those numbers backlit? Or is it just highly reflective paint?
Yes. He says it at around 10:48
Yup!!!
I’m not seeing anywhere if there is a direct out to be able to run a second Kemper off of the direct signal from the Kemper Stage.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
A kemper for monitor and a kemper for Foh? 😂
Nick Sigman for running two different profiles in L and R.
Nevermind, took a look at the manual and Send 1 will send the original (dry) guitar signal!
what is the input impedance?
Cheaper, floorboard included, additional functionality... but people still complaining? I don't get it. :(
Moskito H How much does it cost in the US?
Because it doesn't brew coffee!! Dem nowadays customers... 🤣
Will I be able to transfer my performances from my toaster to this unit?
Yes
Wouldnt want this on stage at no brutal metal show. Shit would break. lol
1:45 "There was some concern that maybe there wasn't a profiling mode on this unit". Seriously? On a unit literally called "Kemper profiler"? =D
thumbs up before watching!!
And after...?
Can you control it using a PC platform?
valen once the new editor is released.
This is my son, H.W.
Can you recommend me a patch to get a Carlos Santana style sound. thank you
Lots of Mids, learn no scale
Lots of mids is the name of the patch ?????
@@fabriziocapecchi yeah, the center frequencies of the EQ = Mid. Don't forget to roll back tone.
Paul Evans Rahal ok thank you
Well done Kemper while Fractal just f@*#ked up
2 Kempers, 1 remote
2 girls, 1 cup - nice ref.
How do you compare this to Mooer GE300?
There is no comparison
Yes there is ! Go and look
Not as far as quality of sound..I checked theres no comparison to Kemper.
In my opinion the product seems already old.. Mooer ge300 has tone capture and a best screen as the headrush.. Maybe Kemper has more true sound but for the most of people is hard tell the difference.
What Bout the sound?
so without the 'touch' browse knob .. I probably won't have that three tier browse-ability with 7.0 on my toaster?
maybe the knob from the head is a "touch knob" from the beginning, but only without function. We will find out soon i guess :)
@@shulai7097 haha nah, kinda looks like the other knobs..
@@sstutes1972 yeah you probably right. :D
Do you ever play something dirty and nasty or is it always clean and polite?
lol, no shit huh. lol. Slayer or something , too funny
Hey Kemper 1990 called...........They want their screen back
FM what?
Just touch it!
Thats why i sold my kemper and went with a Helix. The kempers user interface is a fucking joke.
Just wait for the editor.
@@dilbert666 lol, people have been waiting for the editor since 2012. How much longer are we suposed to wait?
w0mbatina it will be here by end September 2019.
😍
Does it have an iPhone or android app to control it?
Unfortunately not. There is just USB connection, no WLAN or Bluetooth, so I also do not expect one.
For easy tweaking, toaster and remote are better.
@@moskitoh2651 thanks.
As an owner of the powered rack system with floorboard this unit seems unnecessarily complex and will surely invite a stray beer or bottle of water .. sorry but it's a NO from me... thanks for the "making this review 🙏🏼 x
Wow
OMG!
Hmm great video but it sounded awful when you were playing it not sure if mic problem or something.
just watching you operate that thing gives me a headache - headrush did it well as far as UI is concern - one touch screen and a couple of knobs
Only small thing from the start is, i wish it had a built in exp pedal. i know its easy to connect one... but still.
Paul Davis Right but there are pros and cons to both ways of doing it.
@@aaronshortmusic yeh there is. Its just generally decided to include one isnt it lol.
So no way to easily Copy and Paste the entire Stomp section anymore?
Doesn't look like it. That's sort of lame
@@brockbarnes9795 banking on future updates in Kemper land to fix something in a timely manner is about the worst thing you could do 😅
No but, you can still lock the entire section switch profiles, save and then unlock. It's not quite as efficient but still doable.
@@ToneJunkieTV But just to clarify, you can't save an entire stomp section on the unit anymore and have presets for those group of 4 slots? At least not until the editor?
This shit way too confusing.. sticking to my Headrush
1st?
I think so!!
When the designer is NOT a guitar player...this is the result.
Dear lord, this needs an editor!
What specifically don't you like about it? Looks good to me.
They seem to be implementing exactly what their customers ask them to be implementing on the forum... as long as those do understand the technique right. It just takes some time...
You were too eager to get this out so soon. Terrible camera angle. Descriptions were confusing. 3/10
Way to do your homework boys!
Very complex user interface ☹️. tiny display in 2019. footswtiches light colour isn't assignable. Mooer ge300 is much better and sounds good.
But,
why the stage kemper is cheaper than kemper head + remote if it's all the same
if everything is the same i think it is not fair
Kemper + remote owners have to lose money if they want to sell kemper + remote
everyone wants less equipment when on a tour, the price should be cheaper I understand that but it is not fair to the owners of kemper head + remote and i am one of them
Not every kemper user playing live.
@@brockbarnes9795 just imagine someone who wants to buy a new kemper for live gigs
kemper head price -1809.66 euro
remote price - 478.95 euros
....................................
2288.63 euros
my used kemper + remote say 2000 euro
kemper stage new - 1708.22 euro
if it's all the same .... what would you choose and anyone else?
Of course kemper stage, smaller, cheaper, less equipment, all the same, sound, functionality, connectivity
PRICE has already dropped
I just wonder what the next ...
kemper combo amp + remote with all options and profiling for less than 1000e ... hahahaha
but before that they have to make some active cab for 1500 euros and after a year BANG ... kemper combo amp + remote under 1000e
I think Kemper lost it with this complicated monstrosity. I enjoy electronics and computers and I find this unnecessarily complicated.
Jerry Robitaille seems to work pretty much the same as my toaster 🤷🏻♂️
While I'm sure it sounds great and all, the interface sucks and is too complicated and expensive compared to the Helix. The interface is important.
Lol, I;ll stick with my O.G. kemper.
