Her parents were her groomers. She says in the book she dated Elvis for 8 or 9 months before he left. In his post army interview 1960 at Graceland he said that he was seeing a little girl whose father arrived in Germany 2 months before he left but it was no big romance. That's a different timeline than Elvis' explanation in the public interview. Elvis was telling the truth. Her pattern of lying is obvious. Thanks Louie
Saw an old clip of Charlie Hodge talking about when Elvis first met her. He said that E said to him after she left "Did you see that bone structure, it's everything I've been looking for in a woman." (paraphrasing) He didn't fall in love with her heart, he fell in love with her looks. Love cannot survive on looks alone.
Who is Loretta Lynn? Ummm, where does one begin? United States. Country music. Subject of a great movie starring Cissy Spacek, 'Coal Miner's Daughter'. Worth a look-see.
Me too - the more I learn about Elvis, the more I admire him - to the point that I'm starting to admire him more as a human being than an entertainer - which is crazy, because he still is the greatest entertainer, singer, etc. etc. When PB said in the Piers Morgan's interview that Vegas has not been the same after Elvis, it just proved me that she wasn't his fan when they met. She can't even name a pre-army song he sang. And to think that the Beatles, Roger Daltrey, Cliff Richard, David Bowie etc. etc. were all inspired by pre-army Elvis tells a lot, doesn't it? The rebel Elvis, the white guy who sang Blues, who didn't discriminate, who gave autographs, presents, who loved to sing since he was a little kid. Again - Elvis and PB were worlds apart - and it looks like that Lisa Marie and PB were worlds apart, too.
Hi ,Louis thanx for this mornings live ,great as always ! I watched an interview last night from the Joan rivers show, from years back.she was interviewing 4 of Elvis co stars ,including Nancy sinatra and Mary Anne molbly they had such lovely things to say about Elvis ,they were all asked if any of them were romantically involved with him! They all said no ,but I had to laugh ,when one of them said that Elvis invited her up to her room, she said she was hoping that something was gonna happen! She cracked me up when she said that ge got his book out that referred to medication and started to show her it ,she was left disappointed ,he didn't try it on.i thought that was hilarious!
I always thought Suspicious Minds has told everything about Elvis and PB. PB said that when Elvis heard it on the radio, he wanted her to listen something in it, but she didn't because she was distracted by something else. IMO he wanted her to listen something about them he didn't want to say it in words - but she didn't get it. PB is not an Elvis's fan - they were worlds apart.
IMO I think she felt like a trapped rat. When she realized that Elvis was not going to allow her to become a Hollywood star, she just couldn't live with that, being a stay at home mother. No way.
Reading what Michael Edwards told or wrote about his relationship with PB, one can sense opportunism from his part. Now there's the Kruse's lawsuit against PB - IMO, PB made wrong choices during these 50 years after Elvis. It is also my opinion only - Elvis's wrong choice was the colonel.
Elvis' wrong choice was Priscilla, the Colonel was supposed to make money from Elvis, not his wife; but she did. Even after the divorce, she said in 1974 : I'm happier than I've ever been in my whole life" managing the shop Elvis paid for (before an after his expensive divorce with an unfaithful wife). The Colonel was not the worst mistake of Elvis.
Who trusts Michael Edwards ? The main problem is that Priscilla had no problem to live several years with this kind of guy. Their relationship lasted longer than her marriage with Elvis.
I got married at 18. I graduated from high school in June 1988, I was married in November 1988. My husband was 19. As we've grown older I have come to love and appreciate him more and more.
Elvis was very ill, depressed and alone. Maybe his only confidant at that time was Billy Smith, who couldn't be with him 100% of the time, could he? He should have taken the advice of giving a long break, but there was the tour ready to start in August 1977. I sometimes feel that Lisa Marie was re-living those days close to her passing.
Good Morning from Judith. Elvis and Priscilla were very different, and both had big dreams in every way. There was no way, that this marriage stayed alive for a long time. Please also follow-up on the news from "Presleymania" with Rhonda, a lot of news. 😅
I stand for Baz Luhrmann's movie because it is called 'Elvis' and not 'Presley' or 'Elvis Presley'. The 'big name' that PB claims for herself is Presley, not Elvis. A possible meaning for Elvis is: ... may be derived from the Scandinavian Old Norse word Alviss which in Norse mythology means “all-wise” (in Wikipedia). And this one of the ways I remember him by: a wise man!
I can't understand why anyone would unsubsribe from this channel because you're trying to be fair about everything. That boggles my mind. Trying to be fair just shows integrity in my opinion. Keep up the good work.
Ann Margaret serms to have more loving respectful attitude towards Elvis she wrote in her book about him but not in full details same when interviewers ask her questions she only reflects nice things and says very little on their relationship and out of his past relationships he may have had. She hasn't cashed in with another book spilling details of her time with Elvis.
You haven't head of Loretta Lynn ? She was one of America's biggest country singers in the 60s 70s & 80s .She did marry at 13 .I have never heard anything about plans for She and Elvis to write songs together . I don't think they ever met .
I agree with your brother about Priscilla's affair with Steve Peck. I believe she has a lot of built-up resentment towards Elvis by that point. After that affair, the marriage was effectively over. This is just my opinion. They both made massive mistakes. I also think that Priscilla was so young, and she had settled her mind to marrying Elvis, so when she grew up and got attention from men she was just ready to go for it. This also goes back to the built-up resentment. JMO
I just rewatched a clip of the movie Elvis and Me when she told him she was leaving and he shakes her saying is it so and so (I think they inserted fictitious name for Mike S.) and she says no. He says don't lie to me and she says no the only place you want to be is on that stage. I think once he got back to live shows the adoration from fans was just too much to give up. She was competing with that. I know how some women feel about her, but like you've been saying we do have to try and put ourselves in her shoes just for a minute. According to June J., she asked him once how it felt being on stage and he said it was better than the big O!🤣🤣
IMO, PB was more sex-driven than Elvis - she wanted to prove (to herself, at least) that she was still attractive, even being a mother. Unfortunately - IMO - the thought of aborting the baby (this is in the book) horrified Elvis - no way he would be put through this again and with the mother of his own child.
Good morning Louie! It’s 7:38 am here and I’m just checking in. Jo Smith spoke of the amount of time that Elvis and the Mafia were absent from Graceland. She said that as they pulled out of the gates on their way to location, the wives with children who remained behind would throw rocks toward the gate. Jo said they openingly wished they would die in a crash while on the road. To say the least it was an impossible situation for the well being of families. Regarding Priscilla, however, it’s easy to forget that she could have walked away anytime prior to their wedding. Anita Wood did just that when finding that Priscilla was in Elvis’ life as well. Rather, Priscilla stayed until married. Was she waiting in order to set up a plan for revenge or simply bidding her time until she could realize her coveted title of Mrs. Elvis Presley and all that yields. Either way, I believe that from front to back, she was poison for him.
She also says that Elvis was very selfish in those days. She talks about how hard it was. I'm sure there were times she told Billy "it's me or him" (Just my opinion) but you can tell sometimes she wants to say more, but she doesn't.
Even Joe Esposito was taken by PB's looks. He didn't believe she was younger than she looked. This is another wrong thing in Sofia Coppola's movie. All we know is that what's in the movie contradicts the book and the Piers Morgan's interview. PB said she was happy for Sofia - she doesn't say anything about her opinions on the movie she produced. A lot can be revealed just by comparing the movie and the Piers Morgan's interview.
Priscilla has always said interviews she knew from the very beginning what she was getting into so she knew from the start in my opinion how Elvis was like before they got married even the fans show up and different places they lived together at the gates and about Elvis love for his fans and people he genuinely loved having people around him and he invited them all . And i think Priscilla got tired of that and wanted more one on one time with him to herself behind closed doors . She comes across as being competitive and we can see that in her book and wanting attention thats also in her own book along with being manipulative person. She has condicticted her self to the public multiple times on t.v inviews , magazines interview that goes back to 1973 but that wasn't her first interview in Germany she gave interviews even posing next to an elvis record to his picture beside her and even her sitting at desk holding a pen while his army picture was on the desk like she writting him.
There is a passage in Careless Love about people close to Elvis asking PB to talk to him about finding treatment to his condition - she never confirmed that. It is even in Baz Luhrmann's movie (the scene they talked in the car).
@@anY-bf9ud Thank you for the information about the treatment. What I find strange is that PB never confirmed it herself. It is in Baz Luhrmann's movie, though. In the Piers Morgan's interviews she confirms the phone calls - she made it look like flirtation. She wanted to sell the 'love-of-my-life' image - which is no secret to Elvis's fans.
I read about one of the cast of one of his movies in the 60s named Sandy was asked to move in to Graceland too but her mother said no. This was about time Cilla moved in. The women that moved on were the smartest cause he liked too many to just settle down. It is clear Cilla was not his soul mate, i doubt anyone was unless it was June Juanico who would not take a back seat. Great info coming out, thanks🎉
Totally agree. IMO I don't think she got the golden goose because she was "chosen" I think she got the spot by default. I've read interviews that Joan Blackman has given and she says he wanted to marry her and she said no she was in love with someone else and wanted to get married (or something to that effect). Then he would move on to the next one and when they said no then the next and so on. Yvonne Lime has a diary online somewhere that I read. When he asked her to come visit Graceland her friends were worried because they told her "he's fickle" and that was early on after filming Loving You!
There's been letters that have been released of Priscilla writting Elvis . I was thinking why haven't any letters been seen of him writing her? She has said they wrote letters and even sending each other songs back and fourth but we never have seen one letter from Elvis to her only lettes from Priscilla to Elvis .
I do agree PB was beautiful. I don't agree she was pining over him when he came back to America after serving in the army. She had a plan. We will never know the truth about everything. When elvis unfortunately passed away he was with ginger it was said by her they were going to be married even Elvis own jeweler confirmed it and said how her ring was made. But when you go to graceland and see elvis own ring it doesn't even have that description on the replacement of his diamond why? Cause its in ginger ring now rather if he lived he would follow through with his engagement noone can't confirm but priscilla does try to act like she's his widow instead of his ex wife. And in a interview by ginger herself she even said on national t.v when lisa found out of Elvis engagement lisa told ginger infront of Elvis I'm call you mommy and ginger repled i don't think your mother would approve and lisa said i don't care. Lisa was alive when she did that interview and lisa never went against what ginger said about it.
This is phone conversation between Elvis and Anita in the 60's because as we all know when he met Priscilla he already had girlfriend then he met Priscilla and of course when Anita heard Elvis and Vernon talking in the kitchen she made the choice for him. ua-cam.com/video/9T0k_fJ6qL4/v-deo.htmlsi=MOX4BG_fXkTFyBWt
If you can find it there is an interview with Sonny West in which he regrets ever doing the book and admits that things were embellished to sell the book. Make it more interesting. This was I believe the last interview before Sonny passed.
To the colonel there was this fear of Elvis losing his fans because of PB - it happened to Jerry Lee Lewis (he married his 13 year-old cousin). The colonel was in charge of the publicity, so - IMO - the meetings, shows Elvis, PB and the MM members and wives went were publicity - the colonel was there, too. The MM wives knew their husbands were unfaithful. PB had an ally - Joanie Esposito, who helped her cover the Stone's affair (it is in Elvis and Me, but not in Sofia Coppola's movie). What was the message in Sofia Coppola's movie - IMO, that Lisa was absolutely right!
@@TheSolidheroes That's right! But for the colonel, a 'misterious girl' living in Graceland was a menace to Elvis's carrier. The sad thing is that this image of a girl kept behind the Graceland's walls is in the Sofia Coppola's movie - it is a total misinterpretation of the actual facts, as explained in the EFM and MMK channels. Why PB wanted to continue supporting with this misinterpretation and against Lisa Marie's protests is an unanswered question.
@@giannagarda7598 Yeah that whole Coppola movie is one huge mistake by everyone involved. I haven‘t seen it but I saw the bad reviews by Elvis fans its just a big moneygrab. And that‘s why we come together on this channel to set the record straight, have a great day!
@@TheSolidheroesRegarding the Sofia Coppola's movie, I thought that the trailers were quite good and that the lack of Elvis's songs would not be a problem - which in fact wasn't. But there was no chemistry between Cailee and Jacob and the 40 cm-height difference was really disturbing, because it made PB look like a forever 14-year old girl. Coppola didn't bother aging Cailee (she was supposed to represent PB from 14 to 26 years of age). Except for Cailee and Jacob, the other actors did not resemble at all the people they were representing. Currie Grant was given another name because of problems generated by the Child Bride book. Bill's, Jo's, Danny's and his daughter's comments are really worth to be listened to.
I guess she graduated in Memphis (sponsored by Elvis) a little later than the usual age of graduation in high school - is it correct? PB said in an interview that Elvis didn't keep the promise (or whatever it was) he made to her parents. IMO he treated her the same as he treated Jerry Schilling (just to give an example). She wanted their relationship to be sex - it is crystal clear in Elvis and Me. She called it grooming and then denies it in the Piers Morgan's interview. Linda Thompson was right - he should have married a Southern girl. It was too late, though - the divorce was costing him loads of money.
I always question why did she come to finish high school with only about 2 months left? Why wouldn't her parents have said NO you are going to finish here and graduate you only have two months left. Maybe because if they didn't pull the trigger then they were afraid he might move on to someone else??
@@cherylspencer8024 Exactly!!! And to graduate, she cheated in the Maths exam - the price was a meeting with Elvis - did it happen? Lisa Marie said in an interview that her father was authentic, and I'd say she inherited it from him. PB admitted many times that she would do what (she thought) he wanted her to do - to please him. She admits she started having karate lessons so that they would have something in common to share. To me, it just proves two things: the marriage was over and there was no turning back. Mike Stone was her revenge.
@@giannagarda7598 Agree. And I think Lisa being the spitting image of her father was another contention for her. Lisa was very unpretentious. When Lisa talked about her exhibit she said something like who cares, no one wants to see anything about me.
@@cherylspencer8024 Agreed! Also Riley respects Elvis so much - she said: "My grandfather, such an iconic, incredible performer. I wouldn't compare to him - beyond amazing". Lisa was also proud of the twins, because they were so proud of their legacy.

Very interesting Melissa’s
This is phone conversation between Elvis and Anita in the 60's because as we all know when he met Priscilla he already had girlfriend then he met Priscilla and of course when Anita heard Elvis and Vernon talking in the kitchen she made the choice for him. ua-cam.com/video/9T0k_fJ6qL4/v-deo.htmlsi=MOX4BG_fXkTFyBWt
Thanks Melissa
If you can find it there is an interview with Sonny West in which he regrets ever doing the book and admits that things were embellished to sell the book. Make it more interesting. This was I believe the last interview before Sonny passed.
Thankyou
Thanks Gianna
Now what‘s wrong with marrying your 13 year old cousin?? (Just jokin)😂
You tell me Gianna
Priscilla loved the Hollywood life. Elvis didnt.
My opinion.
Happy late birthday
Thanks Shirley
I don’t beleive for a second she wanted to die - she loved her kids too much
