Nice story. Thank you for sharing All your videos have been very useful. Appreciate if you could also do a walkthrough of Question 1, Paper 2 - the Directed Writing based on 2 texts and answer based on 2 bullets.
The main reason I tend to avoid narrative writing is because of the 450 word limit as I find it very difficult to create moving characters, create a half-decent plot and include vertical time. How would you recommend balancing the different components of a narrative in 1 hour with such a word count?
It's difficult that's for sure. Cambridge won't penalize if you do go over, but of course you need to balance your time effectively as the directed writing q can be quite time consuming...
Hello , your methodology and teaching process really helpful in understanding the context as well the responses shared in English first language paper1 as " complete walkthrough " was way too good. Requesting 3 past papers(variant 21 , 22 and 23) with A star model responses for English Paper 2. This would really help students to understand the required responses. Possibly to do a walkthrough for Paper 2 2021 series. Waiting for your positive response.
hi! fle paper 2 is in 10 days, and i almost exclusively do descriptive writing, do you think you could create similar videos on that soon? or maybe if you have any tips right now? thank you so much though, your channel is life saving!
I don't really have time at the moment as I'm planning for this weekends vid. However, use the photograph method. Start with wide angle shot (describe what you see in its entirety), then zoom in... You want two paragraphs, which zoom into two different things. Cambridge love students who can create contrasting images, too - try not have one note throughout. Vocabulary and sentence structures are of course important. Last tip- make your images believable and don't use cliche similes, metaphors etc.
Think about something which you have experienced yourself. Try not to think of anything too crazy. Write from experience. One of my favourite narratives one of my students wrote was as simple as losing her grandma's locket and describing the different places she visited in order to locate it...
@@IGCSESUCCESS Yes, but some topics in narrative writing are more favoured to fictional writing, so I get stuck when I try to think of a personal experience for those topics, can you suggest what I can do for those topics?
@@IGCSESUCCESS thank you for your help and guidance, you're way more helpful than my paid tutor. I should pay you for all your hardwork, I really appreciate it. You're a infinity/10 for me. Honestly, the teacher of the year!
My teachers always confuse us, so my question is that "does a speech have a title?" idk but some of our English teachers say yes and some say no and am confused. plz do help me😕
no, you don't need a speech with a title. Just think of it, ever heard a speech where the person starts off with the title of it? You have to write the words of your speech, with no title required
We want more stories sir!! Your stories are just incredible:)
Thanks! I will definitely write some more soon

Hello! Thanks for your videos. Just a question - Are dialogues not necessary in narrative writings??
Not necessary, but I would include a little to show Cambridge you can use it to characterise…

Hey! I wanted to ask, should I not be ‘coffee had been my best friend during times like *those*’?
I just submitted a story writing assignment would you give it a check? I’m not particularly that good and online school isn’t doing any good.
Can u do a walk through for 2021 , please?
