Have you tried splitting the USB-C so you can use an external drive? I imagine the weight makes it only useable with the gimbal locked as a tripod. But it would allow ProRes when a tripod setup is fine.

I recommend the iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro when using the mic. I also tested it out with the 12 pro max which worked too. However the 13 pro max is quite heavy with the mic which will result in the gimbal not working properly.

You are welcome! If you have an older iPhone and experience wobbling turn of image stabilization. On newer phones this isn‘t am issues and I keep it on.
Does the Mimo App Work with the DJI mic simultaneously? and does the mic start recording as soon as you his record on your iphone camera video app and or the dji mimo app? And when you record on the Dji mic does it record in stereo on iphone with the two mics?

My gimbal DJI 5 rarely start with the red button. Is there a secret? When the gimbal is at my feet I can’t tell if I’m filming or not. How do you know? Two great set-up by the way if you want to upgrade the audio quality even more hook up a lav mic with a short cable to the DJI Mike you can just plug it right in and now you've got sure mvl or even a nice roads lavalier microphone capability
I’ve noticed that in almost all of your UA-cam presentations you rarely use accessory lenses like moment or Sandmarc and instead rely on the 3 lenses built into the iPhone. If ever, when do you you use external lenses. Great video by the way. Thanks
Thank you! For most run-and-gun type videos I prefer to use the built-in lenses on my iPhone as the quality you get is quite good in good lighting conditions. I am alsomuch quicker in calturing moments. If I can’t get physically closer to the subject I like to use the telephoto lens by SANDMARC and put it on top of the built-in telephoto lens to get a 5.5x zoom if I can’t physically get closer to the subject. Especially for travel type videos I use this quite often :)

I don’t mind recording in mono, also for vlog type videos. If its for an interview then I do prefer recording in stereo to have two separate audio channes for more control.

Would you mind checking what’s the gap in mm between the receiver body and Iphone base when plugged to an iphone with the lightning connector? Found a pretty big problem with this setup with the iPhone. When you use the lightning plug you lose the stereo setting immediately. So when recording with 2 mics you can’t split the audio between left and right channel. This us not a issue with the Type C Plug.
@@BenettGraezer the issue I’m having is we are using it for motocross. So my son is mic’d up in the bike and constantly losing signal while I’m operating the camera. I’m starting and stopping recording constantly and not having the ability to remove his bad audio when he’s starting to lose range is a problem. Maybe there is a better way to so what I’m attempting to do? Very disappointing that such a great product falls short in this one area.

Was looking at the Comica but it seems the sound quality is so much better with the DJI after watching your video along with some other reviews. Worth the extra money. Actually it seems it was not the firmware update, It seem like the DJI Mic cannot record stereo audio into the iPhone. If this is true it is a tragic flaw and I'm truly upset that I bought this system. Please tell me I'm wrong about this. Thank you.
The biggest problem with the OM5 rig is that the selfie cam is still the best way to do the recording when the rear cameras are SOOOO much better in image quality.

For the moment, I suggest you check out the Zhyiun Smooth Q4 which can handle the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the wireless mic 👍🏻

Yes it works with both mimo app amd default camera app :) I doesn’t record in stereo as it uses the mic from the dji.

You can operate with it just make sure to use it without the case.

Unfortunately for iPhone it only records stereo however you can use the internal recording and have two separate audio tracks.

If you are using a heavy phone such as the iPhone 13 Pro Max it won‘t perform as well.
