Great video. I personally use Cassie with her Brawler variation. I can get 30% combos, but in the corner. I can usually get 20-25% mid screen with YBY into her command grab. But I enjoy using her cause like you said she is very agile and quick and her diagonal X and forward AA are great 3 hit combos to control your opponent.
LOVE ALL YOUR VIDS...there are details that the netherrealm twitch stream didn't even show... you display everything in all the characters except one major move..... XRAY
One of my favourite things to do is a continuous D3 poke to frustrate my opponent and then do a F3,3 in order to do her overhead kick that usually catches them off guard then follow with either a rushdown or back up and fire a few shots with the pistol to keep distance and again frustrate my opponent and reset myself for another attack. I find the D1 and D3 pokes are insane in this game and while I feel I do spam them, I get the win more often than not. My weakness is my inability to reliably pull off combo strings at will. I can do most but the more complicated ones catch me out and then I miss the second or third part which then messes my flow up and psychologically causes me to have to reset and my momentum has dropped by that point. If anyone sees me online, remember to block low!
Tbh i prefer to play as Johnny Cage, so i kinda underestimated cassie. But shit her mixups are waaaay better and diverse. Specially in brawler. Combo standing resets are so dirty. In a good way

Sajam, I'm at a crossroads. I'm trying to find a character that can play footsies, control space and punish people. I was spending a lot of time with Takeda, but am finding his strings a little too slow to punish people. Was also using Ferra/Torr but found their moveset kind of limiting. I've had a few characters suggested to me (Cassie, Ermac, Jax, Kung Jin, Shinnok, Kano), but I'm having a hard time finding someone because I feel like so many characters in MK do so much of the same things, just some characters do some stuff better than others. Do you have any recommendations?
Play lui kiang his dragon fire has good zoning and pressure but I prefer flame fist cause his overall damage is good, his buff increases all his flame projectiles and any combos that make contact with his fist are buffed as well
In Hollywood, can you do instant-air gunshots? I know instant-air projectiles are not as abusive in MKX, but is it still a viable option to use once in a while?
New to fighters and my question is how did you find out what is safe? I spent some time going through the move list and comparing the numbers but it didn't get me any closer to understanding

What they see is your example as a parent. They see you playing so it must be ok. It saddens me when i hear parents giving their kids violent games like cod or a wrestling game. Then when they mimick this stuff and bad stuff happens they are shocked. And for the record im a guy who grew up when austin was battling the rock. And i still remember their battles to this day. But at the time i didnt know it was stagged like the rest of tv. All im saying is don't be that parent. There are other things your kids should be exposed to not mortal kombat. Mortal combat......
Dinosaur Noodles You'll notice a lot of high level players don't use X-ray because of the value of Breaker and EX specials that help chain together massive combos. Good players can execute combo strings that lead to damage equal to an X-ray while also keeping their meter for either Breaker or to do another combo string. However, it's hard not to be enticed by an immediate 30+% damage attack that only takes two buttons to pull off.
X-ray is good for guaranteed damage. If you just need to pop off 30ish percent and you can get in the X-ray, it's a good bet. It's also good for resetting your opponents mentality. They may get more frustrated because all of a sudden they just lost 30+% in one shot and there was nothing they could do but watch. X-ray has its place.

it's funny how people went crazy about early KI season 2 animantions and nobody sais anything about how clunky and stupid the animation of this game are. but who cares, it's mk right? NR can get away with anything, even selling 30 easy fatalities for 5 bucks -.-
Maybe it's a matter of getting used to it, but to me NR games always give me a "puppet" feeling, animation wise. Maybe is a combination of model design and animations that make the fight look like a puppet show in my eyes. Jumping kicks for example are so funky looking, but I guess it's to mimic the original MK games. Btw, I'm not hating on the game, it has awesome production value overall. I just felt IG got so many people hating for something the do better then high-budget competing games. Anyway great vid man, keep it coming, you are the only one who could convince me to buy this game:P
Gianvito Toscano I know exactly what you're talking about. Injustice and MK9 irked the hell out of me because of odd, herky-jerky animation. It was hard to play them sometimes because it bugged me so bad. MKX is a huge improvement though. So much more fluid. Still very unique animation, but you can tell they've been working hard on this area.
The animation in this game is art. And I say that as someone who trains MMA. The moves are in no way a realistic representation of martial arts, but they feel heavy in game and have so much fluidity and personality behind them. Every game shouldn’t animate like Street fighter or DBFZ. I feel like the animations from MK9- Injustice 2 really had a lot of personality and flare to them. Imo the animation team back then tried a lot harder than whatever kids they have animating the newer NRS games.

I don't really know how do you feel the sense of impact, moves are super linear, there is no anticipation and no big release... Just linear boring motions. Also, they have some of the most ridiculous keyposes ever... Take a look at most of down 3 moves... Comical. To be honest, as far as realistic and les comic book animations go, I feel that the UFC game have way better animations than any NRS game.

I just checked some tier lists based online and supposedly brawler cassie cage is 4th under Nimble Reptile, Ninjutsu Scorpion, and Inferno Scorpion. Which may or may not be true but I main her so I feel like that's true.
***** this is bullshit brawler is her weakest variation by far. reptile also is pretty bad in this game no matter what variation you use. hollywood and spec ops are definitely going to be in the higher tiers (not top since they patched f34 in hollywood but still pretty high).

Yes Cassie is amazing she doesn't have as high of a damage output then most characters but her mix ups are really deadly
