  • Academy Award winning actress, Glenda Jackson (former firebrand Labour MP for Hampstead & Highgate [Kilburn] ) having gone through the wars with Iain Duncan Smith's disgraceful Tory grandstanding, delivers a speech on the shortcomings of Universal Credit to those lowliest on the income scale. She touches on the fantasy of the 2014 cuts put forth that only served to be, in light of what we now know, the tip of the piercing iceberg of austerity measures.

The man had a heart attack and was still sanctioned at a work based interview! This is the state of our country people. Please wake up and stop this from happening and people suffering because of this!

I read the book 'Elizabeth Is Missing' and then watched Glenda Jackson in the film last year, they are both great, I recommend them.
Glenda Jackson was amazing, she fell asleep today.
The DWP are run by Satan, in 2013 after bankrupting myself caring for someone I needed help from my nation, they Satanically confused me as when I should sign on while I was weak in deep mourning and then sanctioned me leaving me penniless, it has had profound consequences on my life but to them it means nothing.
Thank you Glenda for standing up for us against this dark cloud of the DWP as you put it.

I work for a charity helping people claim benefits and sorting issues with their claims and I can assure you nothing has changed. If anything it has gotten worse. It’s disgusting how they treat people.
