You will love it , we had a slice like cake , warmed up like Xmas pud with brandy sauce, both ways yummy , we in our caravan and cooking it here for family members lol 🤗🤗🤣🤣stay safe miss Ireland xx
Holy slow cooker, Penny and Arthur. Sounds amazing. We make an old fashioned fruit cake from an old Scottish family recipe and douse it with whiskey after. And yes, family demands some every year. Even have one friend who calls from Texas (we're in Virginia) who wants to know where his cake is. (He and his wife are diabetic with complications, so we have not sent cake for a while. Doesn't stop him asking. lol.) TFS!
Hi Janice glad you liked our vid , Art from Scotland ,Livingstone not far from Edingbourgh, he's mum made fantastic cakes as does Arts sister and her son it must be in their genes, lol , hope you try it , stay safe xx🤗🤗
Lovely. Just the recipe I've been looking for. It can be made vegan by using vegan baileys and vegan chocolate milk or vegan cold brew coffee milk. I can't wait to try this. Thanks! 😊
Hi Sherry , tfw, it's so simple and yet so good you could brag how long and hard work stirring ECT it was to produce this beutiful cake , we won't even put marzipan or icing on ,just maybe a small glass of Bailey's at the side ,lol stay safe 🤗🤗
Well our first one was eaten and shared within the week lol but noticed much deeper flavour as the days went on lol , had it warm with cream too , and will have it Christmas day warm with brandy cream , and later a wee slice with a Brandy maybe , Honestly don't know , but I would say a week , at least , only thing that I think may not make it keep as long as other recipes is the choc milk , but that's me guessing Glad you like happy safe Christmas 🤗🤗xx
Hi yes have done very similar recipes in oven but I think this way it improves the depth of flavour and no chance of drying up it really is a lovely moist cake you can decorate top as you want but we prefer it plain The Bailys does all the talking lol 😆 x hope you try it stay safe 😻
04:41 She mentions after it comes out of the fridge after 24hrs, add 2 cups of self raising flour. At the end of the video she gets confused and say no flour, but she means no butter, eggs or sugar (3:33)
You two are so lovely. I just soaked my fruit, will bake tomorrow. Thank you for sharing this recipe, looks delicious 😊

Can you lift the lid while it's cooking? Or will that ruin it?
Don't think it would spoil , the cloth is to trap condensation so you don't have a soggy cake , but sure a peek would be fine 🤗🤗
Ooooh my fruit n baileys part has just gone in the fridge Miss B. Hope I don’t screw this up 😖
I'd assume you could do this in the oven too, just less time...
