Non surfers often ask the question, Why do you surf? This video is probably the best answer to that question but it is also the exception to the rule. All of us who surf dream of getting a wave like this, but the truth of the matter is we probably never will. The joy is in the hunt. Its kinda like that creepy guy with the metal detector you see on the beach. Every day he wakes up hoping today is the day he finds that treasure chest but actually only comes home with a couple pennies and some aluminum foil.

Koa just got video of himself coming out of one of the longest barrels caught on video and the only thing you have to say is negative. Kooks!
When I start to feel down I watch surf vids. My body may be debilitated with RA, BUT my spirit inside soars with you'll as you ride that wall wanting to push you off, and at same time rolls beneath to pull you down. I also applaud those brave ones who enter danger zone with you, tow outs, rescues, etc.

In case you're wondering what happens at 1:24 - a guy tries to drop in and Koa screams so loud the sonic boom blasts the guy off the wave.
