I was expecting a more typical trans-red for the windows and weapons, but the bright pink really pops against the black and teal.
Yeah that’s a change that honestly helps to improve the look
it's actually Black Convoy true color. THe hasbro color is just a variant of it.
The translucent pink/magenta is actually the original Japanese deco of RID Scourge

Was not going to get the G2 prime because I was not a fan of the color design, but this Scourge repaint makes every detail of the mold pop. This is a must-have.
With this multiversal toyline there’s so much we can get. If Legacy Menasor sells well we can get the other combiners. And if we get the Combaticons in this new line then Hasbro can repaint them to make the Commandos. And RID Optimus and Ultra Magnus would be a great Haslab project: Optimus would come with all his fire engine parts so he can combine into his super mode and he can combine with Magnus to become Omega Prime. So much we can get, keep it coming Hasbro you’re doing great! 👍🏻👍🏻
with them making a new Menasor, I hope we'll be getting a new Defensor too.
@@da_master_of_foxes8512 and Superion, and Victorion, and Liokaiser. Basically if they can update the entire Combiner Wars line that would be great. Titan Class Devastator looked good but there’s room for improvement

I did use Siege Ultra Magnus and Siege Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime to make a fan-made version of Omega Prime, and it kinda works.

It does make me wonder if we might at some point get updated versions of other characters from that RID cartoon? The Fire Convoy Optimus Prime and Angsty Magnus would be great, especially if they combine. Not to mention a new mold for that show's Megatron
Maybe a remold of Legacy Motormaster into RID Prime?
@@BushidoBrownSama It would be a kind of heavy remold, going from a cabover semi trailer to a firetruck cab; but possible. Basically be a new mold at that point, but with shared engineering. And the trailer would be replaced with the back of the firetruck, breaking down into the armor pieces for super mode.
I would love a modern RID build team to have a newer landfill since he's one of my favorite combiner. Especially since I'm always scared to mess with mine in fear that something will break

With all due respect for G2 fans, Scourge absolutely slays!
G2 Laser Prime, being red and black, always struck me as someone who didn't know what did he want to be: Optimus or Nemesis while Scourge... Scourge really wears the "Nemesis Prime" tag and elevates it to a form of art!
Honestly, I view Laser Optimus as being because of what happens when he becomes Nemesis Prime.
I think that after he has been touched by that darkness of the Matrix of Chaos/Dark Spark/etc that the Matrix of Leadership will not enter his body again. Thus, Optimus is left in an in-between state. He has the leadership ability and wisdom of his normal self, but the brutality and fighting strength of his Nemesis self.

True, even though both G2 Laser Prime and Scourge to me look alot cooler than G1 Optimus after all XD

Same, I couldn't stand G1 Bruticus since to me their accents in the G1 cartoon are so annoying.
Especially since this series was affected by the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001

Scourge was my favorite of the decepitcons in the Robots in Disguise series growing up, so it's awesome to see a reimagining of his old model which i still have somewhere.
I like this a lot better than normal nemesis prime. Gonna need this in my life.

His purpose, to serve Megatron. His desire, to destroy Megatron's enemies,. His mission, to lead the Decepticons to victory. There is no denying on who this is. Returning after so long for the Legacy Velocitron subline, gaze upon... Black Convoy aka RID 2001 Scourge! Love how this looks. The black/grays/blue teal and metallic transparent pink colors really pops. He also has the G2 Autobot insignia flipped upside down. And the comparison with G2 Optimus Prime, it's like he's looking into a evil mirror of himself that has a life of its own. Black Convoy is on my get list.
-I swear, I can hear the Mad Max Fury Road theme song while he's in truck mode. That's how badass he looks. Hope we get a third use of this G2 Optimus Prime mold, repainted as Toxitron.
I'm really loving how this turned out though I would prefer if they had gone with the gray and black on the chest and shoulders like the original scourge and Black Convoy. That's really my only complaint I love the pinstriping on the hood of the truck and on the rear fenders.
I just really hope that we can get a toxatron now based on the old canceled universe 2003 one. Would really be cool to get a Japanese G2 Ultra Magnus from this as well.

G2 Magnus may not happen, considering that they're using the Kingdom mold as Delta Magnus with a lame head swap for Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus (when SG Magnus is supposed to be a repaint of G2 Laser Optimus/RiD01 Scourge with a different head).
@@DragoonMS SG Magnus has two heads included. A Diaclone recolor of the G1 head (same colors as SG) and the Skeletor face.

Same! It's the one thing I think looks a bit draft! Saying that though, having looked at my G2 Legacy Prime, it would be pretty easy to paint those bits black if you wanted 👍👍
Sadly passing on this one for one reason only, I don't have the space but if I did, I'd get him in a heart beat!
And I know this is unlikely, but a new Big Convoy would be the nuts!
Been seeing some wild and varied reactions to this one. I guess it ultimately depends on whether or not you saw RiD Scourge as his own entitiy or just as another Nemesis Prime.
I know nothing about robots in Disguise but personally I prefer this guy to the other Nemesis Prime that came out in Kingdom due to the simple fact that he looks significantly different compared to earthrise Prime.
I think he looks better next to Galvatron in contrast to Optimus and Megatron.
Even though I never seen it and have no plans to the Netflix show does have my favorite origin for Nemesis Prime I like it when the evil version of the main character is just the main character but evil and robot Satan is the perfect way to make Optimus Prime Evil

Finally realizing RID Scourage was made and that I never got him but I really wanted him... This mold was definitely designed for him, perfectly at that!
The paint is very interesting ngl! I like how theres a bit more red than the other versions!
Had the chance to buy laser optimus but just couldn't do it like the fact that they painted the tanker metallic makes it look less boring

Well.... I saw this coming. Leave it to Hasbro to release a pretty awesome Prime figure, then give it a sexy black repaint! Also, I love how they included his signature upside-down G2 Autobot symbols! That awesome!

Picked this guys up at Ross earlier today for $16.99. Happy hunting!
Original RiD Scourge also had awesome lightpiping that lit up in pretty much any lighting conditions.
Rally added to the sinister looks.
Though it is funny that while this figure adds much needed wrist and foot articulation to the joints original one had, shoulders are quite a downgrade.
I still have mine i love it
Not that much of a downgrade considering the shoulders were limited to protect the (non-existent) wires. (Laser Prime had a light up feature to light the sword and gun, but the electronics were gutted for Scourge)
@@DetectiveBarricade true, they were limited to a similar degree. But stationary shoulder pilons are much more of a hindrance for the sword, especially with wrists now jointed, compared to ones that move d with the arm and got out of the way.
I've never been a fan of Nemesis Prime or Scourge or whatever, but you've sold me on this figure. I love your videos; you are thorough and enthusiastic but also clear-eyed about a given figure's faults without being tiresomely, theatrically cynical. Keep up the great work!
Ok being that I have an original Black Convoy, now I have real decision to make. To me Scourge has always OWNED this mold. I like to keep him as my Nemesis Prime because he different from Optimus rather being a straight repaint.
Held off on G2 Prime because Velocitron Scourge listings leaked about a year in advance, and it looks like my patience has been rewarded! Hoping to see the rest of the Velocitron lineup soon!
Tick off Cybertron Override and RID (2001) Scourge off the list! Next up Cosmo, Blurr (hopefully Armada), Clampdown, Roadrocket, Burnout and Hauler!

Got this for Christmas. I really decided that I wanted to get the scourge before the laser Optimus. I’ve had my eye on this for a while. Finally got it. It’s really good. I just like comparing it to my Earthtise Optimus prime. Thnx for these vids primevsprime

You can actually fix the eyes on G2 Prime. The back panel of his head is cast in translucent blue. You can use rubbing alcohol, or nail polish remover and give him his light piping back.
This scourge figure made me collect again due that I’m 15 and I stopped collecting when the last knight came when I was 9 and due that line was so bad except nitro Zeus and I cambie back due the scourge deco that my uncle gave me from his trip of the United States

NGL, Legacy is really putting out some amazing character renditions. With the original RID mold, and that deluxe variation of Laser Prime minus the trailer in my collection from years back this is probably the best take on this entire design. As good as the mold is for Optimus here, it is absolutely stunning in every respect as Scourge. Love that not only did he get the proper teal highlights, but also has impressive light piping. Miss the chrome on the original trailer, however the scaled away weapons, and removal of the original air blast weapons make for a less convoluted mess of a battle station Which for the most part remained in trailer mode anyway. Sword looks fantastic and about as accurate as the original, though the combined shield attached is subjectively a miss for me as it looks like one of those piecemeal Energon weapons that usually came with the smaller scouts. Guess I'll see if I can hunt this one down as well, and keep the original in truck mode, as the articulation/stability/design is so much better/dynamic than any before it.
So are we not gonna talk about how fukin awesome it is that the grill just up and pulls a TF2 (oh wow that’s a confusing abbreviation) Sideways and splits

I was on the fence of getting the Legacy Optimus, because I was content with the Earthrise Optimus, but seeing they’ve done a Scourge sold me on picking up this piece. Scourge really rocks that design.
I literally know nothing about robots in Disguise but I think this figure is better then the kingdom Nemesis Prime due to the simple fact that it looks different enough from earthrise Optimus Prime.
Say what you want about Netflix but I do think they have the best origin for a Nemesis Prime character

Didn't want Laser Prime but I did get Scourge. He was one of my faves from the RID series and I even still have the original. I liked what they did with him on the show and this is a great figure for him with all the bells and whistles to add articulation to him

Scourge looks 10x better. It makes me kind of upset I bought laser prime. If I had known, I would have waited and only gotten scourge. I just feel laser prime needed a little more coloring

I bought this as my son first transformer I got it out of a whim saw it thought it was Optimus prime later figured out it wasn’t checked this video out and I’m so glad I got him. My son was very happy

I finally found one the box was damaged and it was the last one so I took it and I am really satisfied with the figure and the day before I got this. I had a dream that I got one but I woke up and I got sad but my dream came true today.
Damn you Hasbro, I was thinking of avoiding this mold but this Scourge is a must-buy for me.

This is finally shipping to me now and I am really excited. The figure is damn near perfect. I absolutely love the colors on it.
I've been going crazy for sourge since i saw it on tiktok. As for laser prime, i'm getting sentinal prime vibes from it. I'll be on the hunt for both figures
I haven't even seen Robots in Disguise, but damn, I think I'm going to need this Scourge. What a wonderful use of the mold.
Nothing beats lightpiping when it comes to really bringing a figure to life.
For me it's the best cartoon right after G1.... the entire show is available to watch here on UA-cam for free as well

To be honest I prefer the repaint version of optimus prime which I bought yesterday the colour scheme is truly amazing lots of detail and the head sculpt is truly amazing knocking the original release out of the water 💦 and I always watch your reviews as u go into great depth into the character and transformation sequence truly love your reviews
I would definitely get this scourge this was my favourite character growing up with RID the only thing I’m not keen on the clear pink plastic in the shoulders

To be honest, a lot of folks probably knew that was coming when word of the Velocitron series releases got leaked. (Black Convoy, G2 Road Rocket, etc.)
The legacy line started slow but now its OP. It would be awesome if the did RID Gigatron/Megatron.

oh that light piping is delicious.
I also really like how the teal is all metallic, it really pops and contrasts with the mostly black body (I think the blue on Laser prime should've been metallic too, especially the hood flames)
I'm 100% gonna pick this guy up, if my walmarts even get him, we missed a bunch of the netflix exclusives for WFC so I'm not optimistic.
Also I can’t wait for the transformers legacy 2001 robots in disguise scourge/ nemesis prime to come out in stores January 2023

This mould was built for him every inch of him including his back cable makes him look like he jumped straight out of robots in Disguise
