One of my favorite things about being single and living alone is I can make a pot full of mashed potatoes with an embarrassing amount of butter and I don't have to share a single spoonful with another person.
ohh men that is soo pathetic, i bet you would trade all mashed potatoes of you life past and future for some one to share you life whit.
I'm doing this right now! Nigella gives us all the blessing to make mashed potatoes and nothing but mashed potatoes for dinner. Protection from life indeed.
Lol you just need someone who hates mash. I vomit if I put mash in my mouth. My husband has to make it for him and the kids because I hate it so much

It is so comforting just watching her even when some dishes don’t look like something I’d like to eat. I used to watch her when I was a kid and I remember it making me feel so comforted

Nigella Lawson is a goddess! I love how she makes comfort food and “trashy” food seem normal and okay to eat sometimes. Love her!

@@221b-Maker-Street It's not only about how someone looks or how fit they are etc. For example, if I constantly buy stuff made in sweat shops, that doesn't affect me but it affects others negatively. That's my point. How does her actions affect the world around her? Badly. The comments "she looks great" etc etc. only focuses on the person whereas this lifestyle affects the entire planet (and not moderately).

@andragonous Good point but consider that "trashy food" and "comfort food" always comprise animal products and by-products. When someone makes comfort food consisting of some potato dish, are they boiling and eating potatoes as is or do they use butter/milk etc. with it? Comfort food always involves animal products and by-products.
I just adore Nigella’s unabashed love of eating food. Good food… made with lovely rich ingredients. Flavour is what it’s all about. A love of great flavourful foods. A kindred spirit. 🇨🇦💕
I could watch her all day. She makes cooking seem so much fun. She enjoys it and gives me hope that I could too.

@@kconrad5893 I had to liaise with her for a PR interview a few years back. She refused to show up last minute because we wouldn’t send a specific car to pick her up and pay for her hair and make up. She was okay but she can be a diva.

Salmon cakes with green peas! My Mom would make them every so often as I was growing up. I think I will whip up a batch this week.
I think that was in the first video I just watched of hers. Fried salmon, w/ an odd glaze, and mushy peas. She literally blenderized them. I guess mushy peas is a thing in England.

Idk how this woman isn’t 300 pounds but that lemon risotto is my comfort food on dreary days since I read it in her book. I also love pairing it in fancy dinner with green asparagus and wild red salmon.
My beloved grandmother made salmon cakes all the time; and she’s no longer with us and I remember making them I’m watching this and I like the idea of adding leftover mashed potatoes in it I’ll have to try it
I love that Nigella likes tinned salmon 😍 I love tinned salmon on buttered toast with salt n pepper and lemon. Ahhhh. So delicious and so cheap.

my family classifies kneidlach as either sinkers or floaters. I prefer floaters. If you add a bit of seltzer to your kneidlach, they will puff up when they hit the hot soup. Very light and delicious!
