Really enjoyed seeing NYC. The last time was 25 years ago when I ran the marathon. Like seeing all the watch stores and getting updates on the market. Your videos are excellent, congratulations.
Good video as usual. Forget AP at retail. Get the model you want on the grey market and avoid the games. Concentrate on Patek at retail. There are far greater trophies along that route and not just the watches (AD and Patek events). The catalogue is more wide ranging and special than AP. I think you're two watches (including one grand complication) away from a Nautilus.
Correct, AP RO is not worth the effort to get at retail. (But I won't buy on Grey Market either) AP only has the Royal Oak, Patek has much more variety in their lines. I don't think I can afford a grand complication. I am very happy with my current Patek.
@@KeepingWatchUK that's definitely not the case. They are the 3rd largest swiss brand in terms of revenue, market share. And hypothetically even if they struggle to sell, at least you get treated with respect. Not everyone can sacrifice their self respect and dignity just to buy a mere watch like you do.
@@exploretheinternet2334 like I do!? 😆 Most Rolex ADs if that’s what you’re inferring are nice & polite. The difficulty they have is that supply doesn’t meet demand. With Omega it’s the reverse so when they see a potential customer they of course are super tentative to them as they’ve a lot of stock to shift so are desperate for them to buy.
@@KeepingWatchUK That's a load of bs 😂. They don't have any problem with supplies. When they say, "we have nothing in stock, but you can be on the waiting list." They are lying. They just want to have a background check to see whether you are worthy enough to buy their watches or not. Keep lying to yourself.
Cool video, I really like the white speedy. What are your thoughts on the llc chronograph? To me that is the nicest watch, even though I only saw it online
Don’t buy AP from the dealer, you’re lucky to have small wrists and size for watches. Audemars Piguet 26715ST Royal Oak Chronograph with Grey Dial 38mm is going for under $40k in the gray market, only Patek and Rolex are worth having a relationship with because any “lower level piece” they offer ate actually on demand.
This is a big turn-off towards AP. Very difficult to establish as a new customer. Now it seems not worth the effort. They are probably losing many promising new clients with their current policy.
True, but the Royal Oak is the only watch from AP (in my own opinion) that is worth getting. They are almost a 1-watch company. It would be like if Rolex only makes Daytonas and Cellini, or if Patek makes only Aquanauts and Gondolas. No, they have many more attractive model lines than AP, and much easier to get established with them and build a collection.
Nice video! The Vacheron boutique on 57th is a nice space with friendly staff, would recommend dropping by. I live in the city and would love to meet up and talk watches and cameras whenever you visit again!
Yes! I would enjoy that. I will be available anytime July 26, 27, or early 28 anywhere in the city for a meet-up. Coffee or a drink or whatever. Send me the details whenever you are available: sc1onytchannel@gmail.com
Enjoying the videos. The VC boutique is awesome. I have a salesperson there who you can see when back in NYC. And I have an Overseas you could try on. Let me know when you’re back in the area and we can meet up.

While you were in Meatpacking you should have stopped by the new Leica boutique! They have one of the only 35 APOs in the US that you can try (as of last Friday).
I did go to that Leica store when I was there. They just opened a few months ago. I’m saving it for my next video. They let me try out a 50 Noctilux 1.2 on my own camera.
Pretty sure I will be back in NYC July 26, 27, and early 28. I’d like to meet. Send me the details whenever you are available, and if you prefer a group meet-up: sc1onytchannel@gmail.com

Hi SC, really appreciating your videos! I find it so good to see you building up your collection of modern watches, little by little. Every time, I remind myself that only brand new watches bought from ADs are supporting the brands. Curious to know if you had an instagram account? Thanks in advance
I’m not on instagram but I will keep posting watch videos on UA-cam. With my next video, I just need to finish up the NYC trip with the photographs I took.

It is always a treat to return to NYC.
Nice! love to see more of these videos!!
More to come! in July/ August
Those Starbucks Reserve are pretty cool. Blew me away when I first went inside. Nice tour of NYC!
Thanks, I love coming back to NYC.

Manhattan is a treat for a photographer. Perfect order on that bagel :)
Yes, can’t wait to get my film back from the developer.
I also had a good experience at the NYC Omega boutique. Very friendly and let me try on any watch I asked to see. Cheers.
Sure you did. They struggle to sell most of em!

Great video thanks 👍🏻 that 5212A. 👌🏻
No doubt I am turning the corner towards Patek.
AP boutique in the Middle East told me the same thing. They didn't have any on display and basically said that it's impossible to get a RO .

Great video. Is that a fitness ring stacked in your wedding ring? If so, what kind and do you like it? The combo goes great with your Patek.
The Oura ring is great. I use it to track my sleep quality/duration, resting HR, HRV, steps and calories.
Great video! When will you be back in the summer?
Dates are not final, but sometime in the first part of August. I will know more later.

What do you think of the round date window on the Aqua Terra? I'm not a fan of it...
That's a negative on the round date window. It seems like a design decision to favor the ladies market. I prefer the square date window.
Any interest in the Rolex 1908 to go along with your other dress watches?
Not yet. I still envision Rolex as a sports watch, and Patek as a dress watch.
Which 37 mm royal oak version did you put your name for ?dark blue or sky blue ..
The plain 37mm Royal Oak Selfwinding Dark Blue Dial Ref. 15550ST.OO.1356ST.06
and the 38mm RO Chrono Dark Blue Dial.
Curious... What code did they offer you?
Pink Gold with a pale strap.
