I like how for the last part of the battle the entire core of nights is basically just acting as Repanse's cheerleaders
Meanwhile henri is just chilling in the sky being like: "You go girl!!!".
ouh man, I was waiting for this, this is my disaster campaign, after this battle everything was smooth like butter, finished the campaign turn 326, now i see the difference, you can see multiple mini battles in the same time and adapt on the situation, i saw only one big battle, and when i got over run, i gave up, THX again for the save, cheers... and yea, I am a little obsessed with the game.
Some magic wouldve made this battle a lot easier

@@aaron9777 they are not trash, they actually do good enough mid to end game, with that standard army i manage to take out Dark elves and GreenSkins and with the support of the cav theyr range support, pretty usefull if you ask me.
@@aaron9777 Peasant stacks are cheap and effective against TKs and orcs. Lord, Magic User, Paladin, 4 melee, 4 artillery and 9 fire archers or 3melee/10 archers can take on a lot.
@@aaron9777 multiple capable armies or much less "good" armies. I prefer the former, more challenging rather than just autoing everything and allows lot faster progression. Like using skavenslaves, great unit for what you use them for

Ah, I was confused at why there was so much foliage in the desert until i realized that was not, in fact, some kind of ground cover but rather Repanse's victims

It wasn't, "I need to maneuver my armies to win this battle.". It was, "I need to maneuver my armies to help Repanse end this battle sooner."
This reminds me the time that in a karl franz campaign he soloed an army getting 800 kills

This is basically standard operating procedure for Leoncoeur too. Especially in siege battles.
@Berserking Bishop Too bad Franz is my main man. I love him but he just can't compete with The Lion.
It works though. Bretonnia otherwise is much harder to play than the Empire, so having one of the best beatsticks in the game is a good thing for them. Franz meanwhile can lead an army of actually useful troops while doing beatsticky things.
@Berserking Bishop I mean I will certainly admit they have an easier time with siege battles. Taking Marienburg with Louen and his Pegasus Knights is easy peasy.
Also here's me not having known about the vows until today. No wonder my eco is so garbage all the time.

Once I was fghting Skaven with Lord Kroak in my army, I think he got about 2600 kills. My jaw dropped when I saw the stats screen, they had suffered about 5000 casualties.
Kroak is an absolute monster for sure. Sieges are such a breeze with him decimating everyone before I even get to the damn walls XD
Lord Kroak is literally death, you put him with gor rok or kroqgar to protect kroak/goon enemy lords and you'll win every battle
Didn't know Gollum was a general leading armies.
You learn something new everyday
Kroak is op againsts skaven. Nothing else to say really...
Best thing is sieging a skaven settlement with 3-4 armies of early game trash around. If you approach it the right way you can wipe out 10k+ rats with 1-2 stacks with a good wizard getting thousands of kills.

The fact that 80 percent of this battle was fighting the first army and seeing how battered your army was having to put up with reinforcements left me in awe. Something you'd see in a movie I swear. Just not knowing what would happen next was really the suspenseful part considering I don't really know much about this game. I'ma get it as soon as I get my PC

Just loved the video... I'm interested in knowing if there's some other use to that moral penalty you inflicted with the cavalry... in this case they had no cavalry, no artillery and etc, is there any other realistic way of using that moral penalty in other types of battles? Thanks a lot Legend, you're excellent!
It's not like there's a specific morale penalty for 'Being surrounded by a boatload of charging cavalry' - instead it's a combination of:
- "Faster and stronger enemies nearby" happens whenever there are a lot of troops. It's not neccessarily better troops, or even actually faster ones, just tend to being surrounded.
- "Flanks insecure" - happens when there aren't units nearby
- "Attacked in flank" - surrounding includes rear and flank charges so that helps
- "In melee combat" & "losing melee combat"
- "Damage sustained" - they were at half health already. This is probably the biggest one tbh
- I can't remember anything specific, but I think 'being charged' also inflicts some kind of morale penalty
It's not anything specific about the cav or about the spearmen, more just a result of smacking then from all sides, which cavalry does easily and effectively. You can send in a boatload of dinos to do this, carefully manouver infantry, or anything.
It also helps that Skeleton Spearmen have absolutely awful morale and tend to start crumbling even when getting charged, so lowering their leadership so they crumble and immediately die isn't very difficult, when trying to do this to something like a full HP unit of Phoenix Guard would be much harder.
A tip : watch movies at Flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.

This is also a good demonstration of the skele spear stack for the Vampire Counts as it demonstrates how sheer weight of numbers can bring down large units or single entities. Sure they take a load of casualties but they're free....
Just looking at this tells me a heavens damsel could of solved all the problems. A Tempest of a Wind Blast would've been orgasmic.
I'm still convinced that Repanse is the best Bretonnian LL, probably even 10/10:
10/10 fighter, Tyrion-level duelist, nuff said. Can't join your doomstack in sieges, but doesn't need to considering how good of a commander she is.
10/10 commander, army-wide Frenzy, attack bonus aura, recovery rate for the army, peasant buffs for earlygame.
Faction ability can be rated between 7/10 and 10/10 depending on how early you get Repanse, because her unique building/recruiting abilities can consistently get you into lategame before turn 50 while the majority of armies you oppose still consist mostly of mid-tier chaff infantry. Extra points for giving you access to Henri, an amazing single entity fighter that also buffs knights in an army he's attached to.

Ehmm dude sorry to say it but i debuke your arguement, King Louen Leoncoeur is way more powerful lategame especially with a life mage, and you can confederate so you get Henry in your army with King Louen for the extra weapon strength from the Bannerlord trait for cavalry anyways. King Louen Leoncoeur is basicly unkillable lategame and he can fly which is a huge benefit all around in battles, sieges or not.

@@JarpanPL Up to lightning strike and unique recruitment bonus in blue, everything for hippos and final skill in red, everything but leadership in Frenzy branch, fleur de lys and basic training. For combat stats - HP, damage, attack and defense bonuses plus deadly onslaught. That should be all 39 points spent if you did it right.

When you ran out of ammo and the next waves was closing in, I was like "oh no, no no no".
Then I saw Repanse, having a party, without a care.
I believe you could have won with a less powerfull lady, but I am not sure my nerves could have survived it.
Love this battle map. That waterfall/river is excellent terrain to work around.
Always feel like Repanse is severely underrated by most people. I found to be one of the very best lords when I did her campaign, she herself just absolutely wrecks whole armies and the buffs she gives to her army are great too

I don't think I've ever seen Legend using the wedge formation for bretonnian cavalry, even when charging. Too much micro, or is the gain just not worth writing home about?
Also perfect vigor is one hell of an ability
He explained it at lest once. All the stat buffs are mitigated by the fact that less models actually hit the enemy and the squad pierces their formation so much that bacomes hard to pull out.
Reminds me of the time that my Kroq-gar and Lord Kroak got almost 6 thousand kills between the two of them. I almost felt bad for the 5 skaven armies in that one.
People poop on trebuchets but I've never had a battle where they didn't rack up the kills. Blessed trebuchets are like heat seeking holy missiles.
Repanse
Had one of the most fun campaigns with repanse. The it's just so much fun to clear the tomb king's infantry with some of the best cavalry in the game.
Faith, Steel, Filthy Peasants, and Big Rocks.

one mistake for me: not keep one infantry unit in reserve for protect the trebuchet, IA always spam invoc on your artillery if you have; and thanks for your idea of change all infanterie unit in early game to 4 generals, and let the archers get the damage, it really works for beginning, and i have 4 immortal generals with the grail after this

This is actually awe-inspiring to watch. In my life I hope to be a tenth as good at Total war as LoTW is.
You should have had 1-2 cavalry units at the ready near trebuchets. The AI quite often summons there.
Repanse is an absolute chad who can slay with the best of the boys.

Yesterday I had a battle where i got 980kills with Repanse. It was siege of Wizard Caliph Palace. There was 4400 undead. But they had chance against CHESEE. I abused the shit out of her abilities. It was glorious. But it took about 90 minutes. :D
If you would ask Gimli she probably has only 0 kills, bc killing something that is already dead doesn't count.
America could have won the Vietnam war if they'd corner camped.
I mean... the viet cong were corner camping, and we were the assisting army vietnam happily let take the hits for them whenever possible.

Really could have used a Maiden in one of those armies.
I don´t know if it could be done in this battle, I have however managed similar battles with retreating right after using all ammo to have the ammo replenished at the enemies next attack. Kind of cheesy, I know.
I think he has done that before, but he has 2 armies here so if he retreats he might only have one for the second battle, which may be very unhappy days, plus they lose strategic position on the main map.
It isn't actually cheesy, it is called defence in depth, essentially you are skirmishing their melee heavy army with your ranged units.
It is the whole point of the retreat system really.
I would not call it cheesy. Legit tactic to harass the enemy, happened in all over history :). If there is historical precedent then no cheesy. Historically accuracy in a fantasy game.
