Human Head Modeling : Slow Reproduction Version

    This is the slow version? Where is the fast version! I am sure it's faster than light!:)
    P.S.: The video is awesome!
    P.P.S.: The head looks amazing!

      Funny you should ask, UA-cam will recommend the "fast" version to hundreds of people 5 years after your time: ua-cam.com/video/ac4qV2uIF3Q/v-deo.html
      (Actually got here from there.)

    Hey! this is what my teacher told me about, "start with a sphere to start modelling a head. Modelling is like drawing a person's face on a paper! Remember, Creative is better than knowledge"
    This video is a very good example! THANKS! i now have solved the riddle

    • @wrechy
      @wrechy 10 років тому +6

      This is why all the 3D artists should know how to draw a basic concept for characters,also with a little of knowledge about how the edge loops affect the model and creative the artist can do fantastic things,this is what i think. (Sorry for my bad english :D)

    Oh and of course, polygons. Knowing how to edit polys effectively is the very first lesson of the 3D modeling beginners. Yes, I myself am also a beginner; but for me, it is possible to figure something out from this clip.

  • @mcarsenal103
    @mcarsenal103 12 років тому +1

    This surely IS a tutorial. True, people might think that this clip was too short to explain in all details. But this is because it is suggested, and also required, that the audiences should have some basic operating experiences and knowledges of 3D programming functions.
    For example, if you know nothing about connecting and cutting, then you would wonder how he could magically makes the polygons spread away precisely.

    errr this one is maya but i used blender to make the head, obviously it doesn't look as pro as his but its a 1st try thats pretty good... uhh i advise you learn the program's shortcuts and try to model easier structures b4 attempting this if you have no experience in blender...

    this isn't that hard its just SOOO LONG AND ANNOYING to do. I attempted to do this before i knew that one needs edge flow to animate sooo i just have this very pretty 3d head that does nothing... :D

      but you must learn for this and can do this. its not the software its the person.

    It amazes me how many people think this IS a tutorial. Tutorials explain how things are done, so that you may learn from it. This merely shows the process without any explanation to it. This is the equivalent to a "speed paint" when it comes to drawing (versus a "drawing tutorial"). Something can be learned, perhaps. But only if you already have a good grasp on what's being done here. A tutorial would take you through steps, so if you weren't too sure you could (hopefully) learn.

    Just five times? lol, don't give up, modeling takes a lot of time and practice. As for the technique, it's pretty common. Using a technique is not an issue. Copying someone else's character design is a totally different thing. Only time using a technique is bad is if it's supposed to be secret which the artist wouldn't show anyway.

I'm planing to make a game, thought I'd use 3ds max for the character models/animation and those environments will be done using maya cause imo Maya does better with explosions and stuff. Is it possible to merge? and fyi I'm using the havok engine + udk unreal
