@@GabrielTravelerVideos That's right you were.. Yes so sad what's occurring over there. My wife was concerned for your safety praying your OK. We enjoy your work so very much.
This video should be called 'how expensive is the tourist area of London'. If you stay in the outskirts and eat there you'll save a lot of money. Also, if you're on a budget there's loads of free things to do - museums, art galleries, walking around (London is totally walkable and there are free walking tours), markets etc
For me, being near the center of a city or at least in a particularly interesting neighborhood is preferable, though sometimes I'll stay somewhere that's cheaper and a little out of the way. But ideally I want to walk out of wherever I'm staying and find good restaurants, pubs, the main square, etc. within a fairly short walk, rather than being a long ways from the sights and having to take buses or metros a ways to get there and then again to go back to the hotel. So it's worth paying more for a central location. There are lots of ways to save money traveling and yes, location is a factor.
We had the pleasure of visiting London for 2 weeks . We stayed with a friend and we had a wonderful time. I think London is one of my favourite Cities. Our friend visited us in Canada for 2 weeks and we showed him wonderful British Colombia .
I watch a lot of English You Tubers eating Full English Breakfasts at various restaurants and pubs and that breakfast Gabe had was too expensive, even for London. I guess the price was that high because it was in a tourist area. You should have had two sausages not one for that price.
Glad you finally made it from the depths of the north Essex countryside to the bustling metropolis of London. Felt kind of exhausted for you just watching this one!
We were there earlier last month for our TV show and I'm loving it! It's a place where you can wander from historic castles to modern skyscrapers in the blink of an eye, and the locals will give you directions with so much politeness that you'll forget you were even lost. I am now in Ireland. I guess, I would see you there, too!
Hi Gabe, just thought I’d mention, because you were walking past it, I stayed right there in Sept. /23 at the London School of Economics and Political Science, (brick building to the right at the beginning of your video). In the summer, when the school is not being used for students, they rent dorm rooms that include a fabulous breakfast for about $75 Canadian ( In GBP the price would be 60% less). In the breakfast room there is bread, fruit, yogurts and cold cuts & cheese etc. that they allow you to take with you either for a snack for later in your room or a picnic lunch through the day. The residence has great security at night and the front desk is so helpful. The location is fabulous for sight seeing (right in the heart of London and safe area. I had a view of the shard from my window). You can’t beat that price for very expensive Central London for the budget traveller. Love traveling with you Gabe, your videos are so well done.
My tip as a Brit - stay away from central London if you are on a budget! But I get if you are only passing through it makes more sense to be located there. Makes my heart cry spending that much money though 💰🤑 There are some amazing cities around the Uk - Cardiff where I am based, has loads of parks and nature spaces, but also has all the great city vibes. I came here 4 years ago during the pandemic and loved it so much I stayed. @GabrielTravelerVideos Yes, just tap and go, it's a very cost effective way of travelling around London with a daily cap on the charge too. So you always know its not going to cost more than £6.60 I think it is now. As long as you use the same card throughout. Lee

Hi Gabriel, Nice city walking tour a change of pace from staying in those rooms in other countries London has that expensive factor that has you staying back in hostels which hasn't happened in a long while. Being that London isn't part of the EU, the Schengen Zone allows you to stay around Europe until you plan out where you want to travel next. A strange traveling dilemma where to go next and enjoy the time there.
St. Pancras Station is where the Eurostar trains from London to Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels depart from. I'm confused as to why you walked all the way from Victoria Station to London Bridge and then took a tube to St. Pancras? A direct walk from Victoria to St. Pancras would have been shorter and quicker. If you arrive in Stansted airport next time, Stratford would be the best place to stay or arrive in London. I remembered my Enhlish Breakfast at one corner of Heathrow Airport after checking in, it was so good because the bangers was vegetarian rolled sausage, with the usuals besns, tomato, scrambled eggs, toasts. Oyster card only works in the vicinity of London. St. Pancras Station is just near Tower of London. Airport's rate is very low, to withdraw by ATM is also a rip-off, even in exchange bureaus. So I just bring the local currency cash so I don't need to withdraw.

Thanks to your persistent warnings regarding the currency conversion scam at ATMs, during our recent trip to Italy whenever we withdrew cash at an ATM, we thought about you! 🙂 Thanks for the tip Gabe!
In CENTRAL LONDON to keep the cost down eat at places like the Pizza Hut in the Strand or any Weatherspoon branded pub as these places trend to give you large portions & charge a normal non tourist type price. Other districts in central London have many close together cafes, serving food at reasonable prices as they compete with each other for your custom, one has to route them out. Always sleep outside CENTRAL London in one of the surrounding towns that makes up GREATER London such as Tolworth etc. Don't breakfast at the hotel you sleep at, eat in one of the town's local cafes. Use the red buses or the tube to journey to LONDON city centre when you have satisfied your hunger with a filling meal.
Jesus christ never eat at pizza hut or Weatherspoon's! Just go to a market, get some simple stuff or a small independent place. Of which there are many in central London.
Never been on the Tube despite working in London many times in the mid 90's. However, I did walk many miles of the Jubilee Line Extension as I was working on it (walking along it lol) , predominently at the Millenium Dome (O2 Arena) site before the dome was even built but also at Canary Wharf amongst other areas. Not many people have only walked the tube, not ridden in it, is my guess 🤣 I've never been back since as I didn't like London at all, the parts I stopped at anyway. Probably my fault for picking the "cheap" areas.
Okay what? I live in the uk and have visited london a couple of times but not the center. I never knew a pint of beer in central London is as much as £7, down in Devon where i live pints of beer can be as cheap as £2.50. That hostel was also a rip off as it was extremely basic and looker like somewhere you'd store a coffin ⚰️
Belfast has been getting a load of international tourists for the last 7 years and the establishments in the town centre are now chargining prices that are even more expensive than london.

Gabe, I hope you start a new series going through Africa…. so much to explore… most vloggers are stuck for months and years in Aisa, India, pakistan… Desi Chris, Luke D, Harald B… its all been seen… cheap but not new any more…the Dark Continent is waiting… Kenya, Madagaskar, Namibia, Congo… you are a very skilled traveler….. Go four it… it will change your life….
I somewhat agree but I think there's always more to see of those places and many different travel styles that give many different perspectives. Re. Africa, Harald B did an amazing series in Tanzania, but at the moment Kino Yves is my favourite vlogger in Africa. Well worth checking out! ✌
Zanzibar❤🎉
@@rudolphteperberry3888 thanks for the Tip… yes I loved watching Harald… the turn off was he disappeared for a year and never spoke about it… which still doesn’t sit with me well…
@@stillesorrow I respected how he disappeared after that. It seemed kinda like he had a spiritual awakening of some sort after his time in Africa and needed time away from social media to contemplate life 😅 Maybe I'm reading too much into it.
You would have been able to get an all day breakfast from the Anchor, similar to a fry up but not as good.
Random fact, the original London Bridge is currently in Lake Havasu City Arizona.
London Bridge was last rebuilt in 1968, the old one that had been standing since 1831 was sold to an American, dismantled & rebuilt in…Arizona.
Thanks for Silent Partner, Rock On!!😎
Wow! £19.50 for a brunch breakfast. Thank goodness I live in the North where the same meal costs £8 including a mug of tea. Always look out for tourist and office worker-free areas when looking for a full English breakfast café. Office workers eat foreign muck such as avocado for breakfast 😢
Since part 1 I was 100% sure that it was the ship you where looking for!
you can get Airbnb private rooms in London for less than the cost of that hostel bed
Gabriel I see you are now in the UK. Come to Jersey. Its a short flight from London or a ferry from Poole.
Thanks to your persistent warnings regarding the currency conversion scam at ATMs, during our recent trip to Italy whenever we withdrew cash at an ATM, we thought about you! 🙂
Thanks for the tip Gabe!
Great, glad to help.
Hi Gabe, thank you for sharing. Chaos
I like that Gabe rocks Indian, Southeast Asian and even Muslim gear and doesn't dress like a typical American.
Baseball cap?
doing your Homework ahead of trips is essential
Café Nero soo good. I avoid Starbucks at all cost lol
Cafe Nero is proper rubbish. Cafe Venitizi is bomb
@@gerry9306 Im gonna have to check
It out. Where is it located ?
Seattle’s weather also changes on a dime like Britain’s does.
Thanks for sharing this tidbit.
First comment from London, UK.😂
Second. But you're probably the first comment from London. ✌️
This same breakfeast on the seafront in the Greece for 8 euros, what has happened to London.
if you went to any outskirt cafes in London your pay a lot less for breakfast £14 is taking the piss
Hi Gabriel, after 90 days travel, England is under my expectations. It so depressing but you are positive.
Perhaps you need to visit before you make silly comments.
Luv these excursions… (no scripts)
Never been on the Tube despite working in London many times in the mid 90's. However, I did walk many miles of the Jubilee Line Extension as I was working on it (walking along it lol) , predominently at the Millenium Dome (O2 Arena) site before the dome was even built but also at Canary Wharf amongst other areas. Not many people have only walked the tube, not ridden in it, is my guess 🤣
I've never been back since as I didn't like London at all, the parts I stopped at anyway. Probably my fault for picking the "cheap" areas.
London Bridge station was behind.
Gabe .Glad you made out of Israel in time. Imagine you were there a month or so ago. Dangerous world we live in.
@24:08 ....Cheers !!!
Thanks a lot. ✌️🍺
You need to discover Wetherspoons for an all day breakfast, and much cheaper beer and food.
Been there lots of times, a good choice: ua-cam.com/video/_JtHx-S2hxU/v-deo.html
Cash advance on your Visa or Mastercard is a decent conversion rate.
Better to use your debit card, then you aren't paying interest on the money you withdraw.
you should jump on a train and go to cambridge, i think youd rally like it
Yep, touristy areas are more expensive all around the world.
i see the british weather is out in full force i could not live there!
No one is asking you to
I was in the London at the weekend and it was 25c
Hey princess I'm sure most of us don't care where you decide to live. Perhaps NK would suit you.
Actually the weather in London has been great the last week 20 plus degrees and sunny
@@jacksoncornbreadmcbride6763 and no one asked you either
Belfast has been getting a load of international tourists for the last 7 years and the establishments in the town centre are now chargining prices that are even more expensive than london.
Wow! You really are today’s Shakespeare That’s the exact first thing. I thought before you pointed it out. Great video.
