It may not have come across in the edit but it was a heartfelt apology - the last thing we wanted was for him to feel offended. The meal was absolutely incredible and we had a nice long chat with Fabio after the meal off-camera, and I got to say sorry again for being a bit of a doofus🤦♂️ He was very gracious. A huge thanks to Fabio and the team for looking after us 🙌 Hope you guys enjoying the series.
@@jolly I'm Italian and worked in the catering field here for some time. I wouldn't have liked that conduct in that kind of setting and I'm not only talking about the whistling. The childish and loud behavior was just too much for me...but maybe you were seated in a separate location than regular customers then it would be okay

I love that this series is filmed almost as in a prestigious cooking documentaries’ quality but the amusement level is 100000 times higher because of the chaos in between 😂

You don't need to be pretentious or fancy to enjoy the finer things.
The fact that Mr. Z, a world renowned Chef of celebrities not only enable him, but also join in instead of being pretentious and fancy is an added bonus.
I will never understand the need to be that obnoxious tho. You can be down to earth and funny within certain limits and without being annoying. Just out of respect
I’m dying from laughter because of Mr Z and Ollie’s antics together, and to think my day before this wasn’t great because I was filled with anxiety the whole day. Jolly never fails to lift my mood.
Every single day I have to watch one of their episodes to lift my mood. I'm addicted.

It's like you are whistling to your dog to come, or in less ancient time your slave to come and do your bidding. We don't like it, the same as catcalling with whistling, is not seen with good intent.
Whistling is extremely rude, if you want your waiter's attention just discretely put up your hand and say "scusi"

How Josh managed to not lose his cool repeatedly is awesome. As a former food service employee indeed apologizing whole heartedly can clear 99% of any misunderstanding up. Though there were times watching this I wanted to pinch Ollie for his behavior but that's the mom in me lol. Loved this entire series
I love this channel, and of course Josh and Ollie, however Ollie can be ignorant and arrogant on occasion. I don’t think he fully realises that his sense of humour isn’t to everyone’s taste and should not be delivered in environments such as this. I suspect Ollie has a mild form of Asperger’s. I still appreciate and love him, though don’t get me wrong. Just an honest, heartfelt and constructive comment. 100% the best buddy and foodie channel on UA-cam.

Is it actually rude to whistle in Italy?
@@jolandadejong9050 Yes, expecially in a restaurant where a waiter can mistake your whistling like you're calling them at your table. It's extremely rude.
Whistling can mean lots of things depending how you use it, if it's followed by uncontrolled laughters like in this video then people may mistake your intentions like you're making fun of somebody. It is used also to indicate when a girl is "hot" or maybe in a normal conversation for example:
A: did you see that elephant? it's gigantic!
B: *whistle* (it indicates disbelief, surprise or astonishment).
In a normal conversation with your friends it's okay and it's normal to whistle, but if you're doing anything formal like a job interview or anything else, it's not really well seen.
Also, normally in a restaurant in italy like in every other countries, it's best if you're as quiet as possible and avoid any kind of yelling, loud laughters or noises. It of course depends on where you go dining but usually people wants a calm mood and atmosphere.
It's okay to have fun, laugh, act silly and joke with a waiter or restaurant manager but it's best if it's done discreetly and quietly!

Mr Z seems stiff at first glance, but the way he interacts with Ollie makes me want to skip my flight to Greece and go straight to Italy.
The stiff persona is what makes it really surprising for me when the chaos brewing inside him came out to play. I really enjoy the duality
I remember googling him after their video about "the most expensive sandwich" first came out and I was floored by his resume and his rank in the culinary field. And to think that someone his caliber is this friendly and down-to-earth is honestly so heartwarming. He just really loves food and cooking, and you can feel his excitement about being able to show these two (lovable) noobs about his culture's food and cuisine

These guys are amazing and this is both informative in a truly classic Italian way. The brothers are classic English with the most medievally pedestrian understanding of food. Mr Z is a saint and watching these kids get there minds and palates blown is really fun. Good entertainment!
By the way, it's so refreshing to watch foreigners experience a different side of Italy, cause it's always the same regions and cities but you went for Emilia Romagna, the central area of Italy. It's not that common to see.. As a Tuscan, I'd say I'm so in love with our neighbour Emilia Romagna, I'm so happy to see it well represented in this series 😍🥰

I bring aged 30 year old balsamic vinegar as souvenir gifts to friends and family when I go "home" from Italy. And we do eat one drop at a time proving that a little goes a long way with this delicious condiment! Italian food doesn't have to be flashy to be good, the taste will always speak for itself no matter how humble and simple looking it is.
