My parents had to run away from Uzbekistan cuz people were burning down all the houses of the Jews and stealing there money and killing children my parents didnt have that good if an experience everything they loved or had was gone

Perhaps it's Bekruz who is doing a swell job (wish he could partner with you for other series even outside Uzbekistan), the amazing food, the hospitality and quiet warmth of the Uzbek people, the wild countryside--or all those factors (plus more not-so-obvious ones) converging and contributing to make this series incomparable! @@sarm9790 I've noticed in general middle-eastern food is healthier than South Asian food, largely due to items being baked rather than fried. Even South Asian vegetarian food can be very unhealthy. No shortage of oils or ghee in curries and breads. It's part of reason I dislike visiting family in Tamil Nadu. I eat everything, but my fam is almost entirely vegetarian. The food is good, but you can get sick of it really quickly eating it every day, and there's never enough protein or iron. I dislike lentils and chick peas, which are the main source of protein in most dishes. On top of all of that, it's fatty.
@@nahor88 that's because, growing up in the West, you've become accustomed much to minimal Western cuisine and feel overwhelmed by traditional Indian cuisine which is what locals can eat daily. So I don't blame you..

Turkmenistan has the least tourists with 20K only BUT you have to visit the capital Ashgarbet, it's beyond your wildest imagination, just watch UA-cam on it

Went to Uzbekistan last week and travelled to Tashkent and Samarkand and must say the place is amazing. The fruit season was on and I had the best tasting pomegranates, figs, peaches, plums and melons ever I tried samsa, shashlik, pilav, bread, few types of soups. Coming from India I found the taste very different from what we have at home although the name and looks of dishes are similar but the similarity stops there, the dominant flavour is salt in most of the dishes The places I loved were karimbek in Samarkand and sim-sim in Tashkent along with a small corner joint near my hotel where they served some minced meat shashlik. Dumba is actually the tastiest part despite me disliking fat in any meat Must visit place, the people are amazing Thanks a ton
