100% applaud your use of the eggshell color without any dark wax or distressing on the frame for the chicks. It's such a clear, uncomplicated, refreshing spring look!
My mom was watching the news the other night while we talked on the phone. She was telling me about tornadoes in Wisconsin. I was like Lord take care of Sonnet. ❤❤❤ I try to watch the lives, but I'm at work. It's tax season so we are covered up. I don't hardly ever get to comment but I try to participate. It was really sweet your nephew got to help out. That was sweet. B
The chicks are perfect! Glad you didn't put wax on it. It looks so springy. The basket was great too. Actually, all of the projects were great. I can't believe it has been almost three years. I started following you from the very beginning. You had just done a couple of videos. And look how far you have come. You just keep getting better and better, Sonnet! You deserve all of your followers and more. I know you will just keep growing. Your creativity and your personality are both so inviting. They just draw us in. Thank you for bringing such joy and inspiration to us all! You are the best, Sonnet!
I loved all these projects today! I especially loved the sheet music and eggs! I have a ton of old newspapers and vintage music sheets. I can't wait to start something today!
That basket was DEFINITELY far too beautiful to lose its handles!! 😊 And the charcoal colored paint with a little distressing looked like it was made that way! A+, as usual.
For the chicks in the frame... I personally would have added white or dark wax (or possibly both which I tend to be doing a lot lately - I just really love the look of both together) to the frame & wiped it back. I also would have gotten out my crafting toothbrush & and added "fly specks" to the music sheet that you decoupaged the chicks on to tie the two together 😊 I may have even possibly used my water brush (that's what I use when organically cutting an image out of paper - it basically does exactly what you did by dipping your paint brush into water to cut out the chicks but the brushes I use actually hold that water in them) & cut the white area between the chicks legs out. However, I honestly think it turned out absolutely beautiful the way you have it 😍❤️
I would have gotten the badminton rackets and taped the grip area rather than painting them. Like others I would stage them with a couple of birdies. OMG, those egg transfers look 3D on that sheet music....very cool. Nice work!
I think the basket came out great! I actually liked all the projects. I don’t think the egg picture needed anything else and the color you painted the chick frame looked great to me. It is always fun to see what you come up with.
Hi Sonnet! I loved all of them! The badminton rackets are too cool! I don't know if I would have bought them, but your ability to spot a diamond in the rough is better than mine! They turned out great! Everything did! You did a good job fixing the basket handle also! I love your trash to treasure videos! :-)
I loved everything today! The frame with the chicks looked great! I thought if you wanted to do more with it that a white wax would have been pretty. The other ones with the boaters and the eggs were both awesome too. Also thanks for the tutorial on fixing the basket handle.
for the chicks: yes the frame needs some kind of accent color, it's too matte. my thoughts: a strip of color on one of the grooves, your idea of the dark wax, distressed or a touch of gold gilding wax
Hey girl … I love the “chitty chats”😁 and love watching you! I’m learning SO much. I’ll admit, some channels I have to turn off the sound for various reasons😬 but yours? Not a chance!😃🤩👍❤
They look great, Sonett! I love the chicks, but I do think you should wax it, I think white would look good since the colors are pastel. You fixed that break really well, it's pretty camouflaged. See ya this afternoon if your internet is willing.❤
Hello Sonnet! Wow, these are beautiful! Since you asked, yes, I think some dark wax on the chick frame would give it some dimension. Good luck with your new internet. Take care😊
OMG, I opened the video and the first thing I see is the Eakins painting of the rowers! I had that in my sons room when he was growing up and in the same brown frame with white border! LOL! Love what you did with it!
I just wanted to try something a little different with that frame. I distress most of my projects, so getting out of my comfort zone is good I think! 😊
Your basket looks fabulous! Such a great find and upcycle! I always pick up rackets when I find them. They are super cute hung as frames with cabinet cards clipped to them.
Yes, I would totally have bought the raquets! Eye catching! With the chick picture I would be obsessing about the white between the legs and wonder if leaving that area unpainted would take care of it. The background would show through some and make it less obvious?
A little white wax or dark wax or gold accent would pop the frame on the chicks picture. The tag really completed it. Was thinking a little distress on the racket handles would look good as the rest of it is chippy.
Sonnet, so many questions. I don’t like flat finish what can I put on as a top coat with the slightest sheen to it? Do you carry a sample pack of testers? Or do you have to buy them separately? And is there a product you can put on the baskets (like the one you did in this video) that nourishes the basket fibers so they don’t fall apart? Love your ideas. I have several tennis rackets and badminton rackets. Wondering what else you will stage with them? I’m buying a new (1920) house with lots of rooms. Would like to make one welcoming to my grandsons.
Hi Debra, you can use DIY Big Top for a sealer with a slight sheen to it. At this time, I do not have a sample pack of testers. I use a clear furniture wax to nourish any kind of wood product. I have some from the DIY and Fusion product lines on my website. 😊 Here is the link if you’re interested: www.sonnetsgardenblooms.com
I was just thinking of you Sonnet but don’t think you’re live? It’s 9am here in SC🤭I was just thinking of you after seeing the tornado in Wisconsin last night🫢💓
I like what you have done to the rowing picture, except I now can’t see the description at the bottom of the picture. As the wife of a rower, that’s the bit that interests me first, and then the picture that is just a personal thing. Prince around is so much better than the white one. I think the little chicks with the happy Easter is perfect as is. What do you think it would look like if you had painted wood around the top and the bottom of the basket and then heavily distressed as you did the handles? Would that have brought cohesion to the peace or do you think it would’ve been too much? I really enjoyedthis video as I do all of your videos.
Love the rackets, eggs, and basket!!!❤
100% applaud your use of the eggshell color without any dark wax or distressing on the frame for the chicks. It's such a clear, uncomplicated, refreshing spring look!
I agree Gina! Sometimes you just gotta leave things without distressing or making them look older! 😊
My mom was watching the news the other night while we talked on the phone. She was telling me about tornadoes in Wisconsin. I was like Lord take care of Sonnet. ❤❤❤
I try to watch the lives, but I'm at work. It's tax season so we are covered up. I don't hardly ever get to comment but I try to participate. It was really sweet your nephew got to help out. That was sweet. B
Awe Charlotte I appreciate that so much! Thank you for looking out for me. ❤😊

Awe thank you so much Sandi! I appreciate you staying with me from the beginning! That means a lot! 😊
for the badminton rackets: perfect for someone decorating a boy's room in a sport theme. you need to add a birdie or two

I for 1 enjoy the chit chat on your lives. Lol
So glad you rescued the basket ❤❤❤

I’d buy the rackets for a mountain home decor ….. everything is sports there😊
Love the mat on the picture! ❤
Great fix on the basket 🧺 ❤
Thank you Darlene!😊
Loved all your projects today!!! I love ❤️ your creativity!!!
Thank you Dawn!😊
Oh yes I would have picked up the rackets, they bring back good memories! I like your ideas because they get me motivated. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you Patty!😊
I loved everything today! The frame with the chicks looked great! I thought if you wanted to do more with it that a white wax would have been pretty. The other ones with the boaters and the eggs were both awesome too. Also thanks for the tutorial on fixing the basket handle.
Thank you Diane!😊
I'd add white wax on the chuck frame but dark wax would look good too!!
You did a great repair on the basket handles. I liked the way you did the aging effect. Very attractive!
Thank you Atarah!😊
That is SO cool. I never knew how to make a mat🤓
for the chicks: yes the frame needs some kind of accent color, it's too matte. my thoughts: a strip of color on one of the grooves, your idea of the dark wax, distressed or a touch of gold gilding wax
Thank you for the ideas! 😊
The basket is absolutely gorgeous.. wonderful repair 😊
Thank you Andrea!😊
Loved all of these. My favorites were all the frame flips. Have a great weekend Sonnet.
Thank you Lisa! 😊
Hey girl … I love the “chitty chats”😁 and love watching you! I’m learning SO much. I’ll admit, some channels I have to turn off the sound for various reasons😬 but yours?

I appreciate that Irene! Thank you so much!☺️

Perfect fix for the basket handles 🙌🩷
Thank you Angela! 😊
Awesome fix on the basket😎👍
Thank you! 😊
Hello Sonnet! Wow, these are beautiful! Since you asked, yes, I think some dark wax on the chick frame would give it some dimension. Good luck with your new internet. Take care😊
Thank you Terri!😊
The basket was a great save.❤
Thank you Joni!😊
Great flips!
Thank you! 😊
I love the format you are doing for your live episodes!
Thank you Linda!😊
OMG, I opened the video and the first thing I see is the Eakins painting of the rowers! I had that in my sons room when he was growing up and in the same brown frame with white border! LOL! Love what you did with it!
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing that. 😊
Yes dark wax would enhance the frame a lot.
I just wanted to try something a little different with that frame. I distress most of my projects, so getting out of my comfort zone is good I think! 😊
Love all the projects!!! ❤
Your basket looks fabulous! Such a great find and upcycle! I always pick up rackets when I find them. They are super cute hung as frames with cabinet cards clipped to them.
Thank you! Great idea for the rackets! 😊
The vintage basket looks great with the weathered wood color. They do mak wood strips that you can use to reinforce the handles.
Thank you Katie!😊
The badminton racquets would look nice in a kids room or a mud room, etc.
Those are perfect places for those. Maybe even a game room!😊
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Repaired Basket... Adorable.
Thank you Elaine!😊
Great fix!
I have hundreds of sheets of music from the turn of the century (early 1900’s) from my grandfather and never knew what to do with them🧐🤗
That’s amazing! 🤩
Would like to see more decorative "functional" craft products versus decorative crafts.
What is a functional craft? I can't visualize what that would be.
I’ll take that into consideration. Thank you. 😊
I think a dark wax would bring out the dark of the notes of the music paper! Love it though!
Thank you Karen!😊
Yes, I would totally have bought the raquets! Eye catching! With the chick picture I would be obsessing about the white between the legs and wonder if leaving that area unpainted would take care of it. The background would show through some and make it less obvious?
I guess that might work, or I could have used water to tear out that part. I wasn’t really thinking about that at the time I was making it. 😊
Inspiring!
Thank you! 😊
I love how you made the mat for the picture. I like more muted colors so I probably would have painted the frame differently.
Thank you Tina! 😊
I love the picture of the chicks the blue frame is really bright for my taste but if that sells in your area you would know better than me.
That’s the beauty of paint, if it doesn’t sell, repaint and try again! 😂
Excellent
Thank you Christie! 😊
A little white wax or dark wax or gold accent would pop the frame on the chicks picture. The tag really completed it. Was thinking a little distress on the racket handles would look good as the rest of it is chippy.
Thanks Joy! I appreciate the ideas! 😊
I like your tutorial videos
Thank you so much!😊
Yes i would have picked up the rackets

Good morning!! We are okay in our area…no tornadoes here. Thank goodness!! That was down south. Thank you for thinking of me!! ❤️
❤❤❤
Cute chicks but I think a dark wax would have made it more “vintage”.😊
It definitely would have made it more vintage. I wanted to leave it as is, since most of my projects are distressed. 😊
I like what you have done to the rowing picture, except I now can’t see the description at the bottom of the picture. Thank you Deborah. 😊 I could have painted the basket, but I was trying to do something a little different since I paint a lot
of baskets. 😊
The Rowers by Winslow Homer, isn’t it?
😮❤
I would have wrapped the handles
QUESTION: where can i get the paper with the animals?? ❤
On my website: www.sonnetsgardenblooms.com/product/baby_animals_decoupage_paper_-_roycycled_spring_2023_release/
Nix on the blue frame though😏😬
That’s ok, it’s not for everyone. 😊
Great projects ❤. My fav is the Easter 🐣 picture. Your work is always beautifully transformed! Thanks for sharing your talents!!
Thank you Margaret!😊
I like the mat on that picture, but not the bright blue frame.
That’s ok Lorraine! That color blue isn’t for everyone! 😊
Not sure why my name (Irene LaPointe) doesn’t always show up🤷♀️
I’m not sure why. 🤷♀️
Sorry, hate the blue frame.
No need to be sorry! Everyone has their own opinion and style! 😊
❤❤❤
