If I could hit the thumbs up button a thousand times I would. Perfect dude, you played that solo PERFECT. So fricking jealous it's sick. I will pay anything, you hear me, ANYTHING to teach that to me!!
When they re-released them last year, they released the original version without the edits and also released them at the real speeed as it was slowed down for the original release.
that sounds great! i love the doors and am trying to learn to play all my favorites. im only 15, so i don't have really have a chance of getting any vintage organs, but while im posting, i might as well ask, where did you get them?
Vsts bro! I have a 25 midi keyboard right on top of my 49 controller. Run them through a vst and add reverb to taste. It brings you right there tone wise.
What a wonderful thing to see, this guy coving The Doors once again, a job well done sir. You keep this music alive, by showing the people out there that the doors are still in important music group out there I just want to say thank you so much for showing people these days, I’m a huge DOORS Fan I’ve been one since I was a teenager and I never stopped until this day. I still play music of his group and my job at home no matter where I go in life I’m always displaying the doors, so thank you so much for showing it still to people also for keeping Jim Morrison spirit alive, and the rest of the band mates. The doors will live on forever.
Wow-Great playing --and also the original version of Break on Through-With the verse that says "Shes gets High" which of course was edit out during the original recording for radio play
that was fucking amazing! your fluidity and coordination on the keys is simply awesome! i wanna learn to play but my left hand is very uncoordinated so its kind of tough. lol..lookin like ray ftw. really really great performance!
he's so spot on that i'd say he was channeling the original doors keyboardist, except as far as i know he's still alive and touring. hell he even dresses and looks like him. i cant even come up with a proper compliment. if you were playing in my area i would attent every show. this is from someone whos very picky and serious as to the doors catalogue. get you some mates and we will come
You CAN'T Play that song without that bass line it sounds horrid . That was one of the most amazing bass lines of all time and still to this day very little matches up with it. Amazing Job done on this. You gotta chill with Manzarek and play the shit outta some doors jams.
@xHoboMcGeex Indeed... I believe on this record, he recorded with a Fender Twin Reverb, and ran both the Vox and Rhodes through it, I also know he used a Fender Bassman amp, although I think the Twin Reverb is what it probably is. If you plan on getting one, make sure you get a 60's model, to get his sound!
genious Ray would want you to play with him some time if he say this and serenities keep doing these it makes it easier for me to hear the organ out so i can do it by ear
Your quite good. Also you keyboard collection is impressive, A vox Continental, A Fender Piano Bass and in the background what looks like a farfisa classic combo
What show did you see? Ray uses an Alesis in a Faux Vox Contiental shell. He's been using an Alesis since 2002. Maybe he used something diff in the show you saw?
@purdy1986 He needs to get the guy from Strange Days playing with him, that guy is amazing, or the guy from The Doors Alive, and he needs Fishenlemar, the guitar player on here, he plays just like Robbie.
I recently saw the new doors in a show I love em but the vintage sound of the fender bass organ and the vox continental haven't comprassion.. ray actualy uses a korg keyboard I don't like it you sound awesome!!!
@EDGARFIEDTV Hey man, you can find them on Ebay for around 1400 dollars (About average price for any good keyboard or synth). OR on Craigslist for a little bit less, if you're lucky, you'll find one at a garage sale or in an old music store.
Ebay and craigslist are about the only way unless you luck into one at a shop which isn't likely. They are going over the $2000 mark lately if they are in good condition and with the stand.
it would be cool if you sang to this, you would have the full ray manzarek package! I think he was able to sing as well as play, but don't get me wrong this is awesome, I think I could use one of these VOX machines, but for now I'm content with learning doors songs on my Yamaha keyboard :P
of the times robbie k. on guitar did a lot of the bass on this record--piled on top of the fender bass. also in the book it was noted he sang "she gives head,, she gives head--" etc. not she give-- (whatever it was here)
Jim from The Office US playing Break On Through
You've even got the Manzarak sideburns, I like it
Thank you all for the nice comments! I really enjoyed playing this piece.
Man! That organ is rocking throughout the entire song. It is literally moving back and forth!
Man, you even look like Ray sitting there! I envy your coordination. Getting my left hand synchronized is soo hard.
If I could hit the thumbs up button a thousand times I would. Perfect dude, you played that solo PERFECT. So fricking jealous it's sick. I will pay anything, you hear me, ANYTHING to teach that to me!!
First, you would have to acquire these rare instruments or resort to keyboard samples which won't ssd's sound as good as this.
You can tell guy loves this song. Excellent playing my friend :)
When they re-released them last year, they released the original version without the edits and also released them at the real speeed as it was slowed down for the original release.

Hey so now that you're 27 and likely have a stable job I'd try either Facebook marketplace or eBay
AnarKie you're a literal god
Any updates?
Vsts bro! I have a 25 midi keyboard right on top of my 49 controller. Run them through a vst and add reverb to taste. It brings you right there tone wise.
There is no better version of this on the net. This is awesome. By far!

Oh great playing again
This is really excellent - fantastic, captured the original bass perfectly. Well done.
Wow-Great playing --and also the original version of Break on Through-With the verse that says "Shes gets High" which of course was edit out during the original recording for radio play

Great instruments, great player!
Great. Loved it.
Hi Perlpower, it's an Gibson G101 organ but indeed, it looks like an Farfisa. Actually the Farfisa has a rectangular lid.
Fantastic. Thought it was all cone on a Connie. Thanks for showing how it should be done.
this was crazy. Awesome playing
hooray for the fender rhodes bass piano! I play the song on bass guitar now i wish i had a rhodes bass piano!
that was fucking amazing! your fluidity and coordination on the keys is simply awesome! i wanna learn to play but my left hand is very uncoordinated so its kind of tough. lol..lookin like ray ftw. really really great performance!

You CAN'T Play that song without that bass line it sounds horrid .
That was one of the most amazing bass lines of all time and still to this day very little matches up with it.
Amazing Job done on this. You gotta chill with Manzarek and play the shit outta some doors jams.
Sounds amazing! You should make a tutorial....but if not, would you mind sharing the drawbar settings?
another amazing video
Great key work Man!!
IT was taken out for the studio version as well, but was re-released last year with the original "high" left in.
Outstanding!

Nicely done !
What show did you see? Ray uses an Alesis in a Faux Vox Contiental shell. He's been using an Alesis since 2002. Maybe he used something diff in the show you saw?
Brilliant!
@xHoboMcGeex No problem! took me forever to find it out.
@purdy1986 He needs to get the guy from Strange Days playing with him, that guy is amazing, or the guy from The Doors Alive, and he needs Fishenlemar, the guitar player on here, he plays just like Robbie.
Amazing 🔥
Terrific ❤
nice playin voxie, good tutorial to learn off of.. !
@DoctorSess Yeah bassline though, it was played on the little silver keyboard by Manzarek.
Grandissimo!!!
your brilliant man
I agree. Only a hater would rate this lower. This is great and his playing is so natural and fluid. And a great guy to boot.
do you ever play the rhodes bass through a fuzz face pedal.. if so i need to see that video.. such an awsome sound!
I recently saw the new doors in a show I love em but the vintage sound of the fender bass organ and the vox continental haven't comprassion.. ray actualy uses a korg keyboard I don't like it you sound awesome!!!

i love the inverted color of the keys
Why would anyone vote this a thumbs down for fuck's sake?
Put up some more of your videos. Thanks
manzarek would be proud =] im certainly jealous of your set up there those continentals are mighty 'spensive
I've always thought it would be cool if he sang in where Manzarek sung background.
@juliexxoo wait im confused the Doors didnt have a bass player...i thought it was the organ player Ray something who played the bass parts?
@xHoboMcGeex He plugged it into a tube amp and turned up the drive to give it a little bit of natural overdrive.
Clean!
great cover..i like it very much..
wait- I thought The Doors took out "She get High."
Sind das Play-Along-Versionen ? VG

The Doors for eternity ✨
one question are you ray manzarek?!?!?!?!? ^ _ ^ (sorry if i spelled his last name wrong)
Does anyone know how Ray got that barking tone on the bass on the original recording?
His band is The Doors In Concert
01:43, Best moment, scream of jim!!
exept the rhodes bass do you own a fender rhodes piano?
@RayManzarekGod Thanks so much! It's so hard to find this information.
@RayManzarekGod Do you happen to know what kind Ray used?
