My first car was a Visa club. Just loved that littke aircooled boxer engine. Top speed was 140 km/h flat out on the highway. Really had some fun with that little car.
quite a futuristic design like the BX. i remember the visa a bit in the UK. it was citroen that have always been good at small cars. they can never beat the earlier cars they made.
Actually the reason we bought it. It was dirt cheap and it sounded so, so good! We did sell it by now. It was slightly too rusty to be a manageable project. We had nice drives in it and it cost us virtually nothing :)
You're very welcome. As of now, the visa is stored in a shed. We'll start working on it coming spring. The brake system is in need of revision and there's some rust problems to take care of. Apart from that, it purs like a kitten.
Nice vid !! Had the pleasure to drive a Citroën Visa (Club?) in Spain from Zamora to Barcelona. I bought it with the intention to use its motor for my 2CV Charleston '1981 Finally due to too much oil leaking of that Visa's engine during that trip (even for a motor of that age), and to the fact that the 2CV's 602cc. with conventional ignition was still working pretty well, I ended up selling that Visa. Had it been the one with the modern dashboard (like yours) and not the "post-modern galactic" dashboard (which I don't like at all) that my Visa had, I would have considered keeping it, since it reminds me the Citroën C-15 that my grandfather had :) PS: Nowadays I drive a red Citroën 2CV which I bought already restored with the Visa engine properly installed with its electronic ignition + a Dyane gearbox ;) Just came last week from a 2,500 Km. trip across northern Spain :-D No oil leaking, but some oil consumption over the Kms. :-P
Welcome! The Visa has by now been traded for a Citroën Axel, even more rare here, only three driving in this country, and there's a Volvo 480 now too. Epic cars, all of them.
Nah I think it's slightly bigger at 652cc or something The 2CV topped out at 602 Though I'd imagine it's basically the same motor just slightly enlarged Could be wrong but if I am somebody more knowledgeable will prob correct me
Hij moest even op gang komen maar bleek daarna goed te werken. Wisser blijft niet altijd op de goeie plek stil staan, maar bij de volgende beweging haalt 'ie dat dan weer in.
It was pretty rough, loads of rust and dents. Cost us virtually nothing but it drove like a new one. When we bought it we were sceptical but the guy said "start it up, that's when you want it". We did and it was the best running 2 cylinder Citroën engine I'd ever heard. It sounded so smooth and idled so evenly. We eventually sold it (for 150 euro's or something, dirt cheap) to a dad and his son working on old Citroëns. There was too much work to be done for us. We can't weld ourselves and all of the brakes needed an overhaul. Right now we're driving a BX. I purposefully reply to you from my other account. You may want to check it out :)

Quite quick enough! Loads faster than the Renault 4 I also had.
The 2 cyl visa is actually faster than a mnodern Citroën Saxo 1.0 538. Not too shabby.
140?
35cv 125 kmh.
That's 2 cylinder boxer power you're listening to. Beautiful sound indeed.

Nice and very rare car, the sound engine it's sublime music for the entusiast citroenist!

Note that the washer-interval is working as it should, most visa`s don't have working intervals...

What a beautiful little car! Is that the same engine as a 2cv?

@@Samspianopage Yeah absolutely right.
@ssosemann Thanks :). I'm sure in chile you've got a lot less problems with rust!
Hi PatoStereo,
The Visa I has what they call a 'varkensneus' overhere, meaning 'pignose'. That's the main difference :)
i love your visa
french old school all the way
whats the differences between visa I and visa II ??
the dash is different but what else?

Thanks :). It will do about 7 litres on 100km when properly adjusted. It'll average 6 on 100 if you don't accellerate too hard ;).
