Think back for a second Remember how Takt’s dad died to D2s, and that traumatized him so much he didn’t even attend his funeral? How he just kept angrily playing the piano, and just kept playing for the next 10 years? Takt probably had been using the piano more as a coping mechanism than entertainment. Him playing with Cosette at this festival was probably the first time he’d actually _enjoyed_ playing it in ten years. Finally cracked a smile, finally let someone else in. And then that someone else that help dissolve some of that trauma died moments later.

This anime was an unexpected and delightfully original journey…..and way, way, way too short. First off, can I say Road Trip?! A road trip across the United States, not in Japan or some made up country, but in protagonist Anna’s beat up but beloved V-8, captured the carefree adventure across the US interstate, through homegrown cities and towns, dining at roadside cafes, buying snacks at pit stops, and crashing in motels. Second, the premise of a silenced world, where music was one day outright banned, was also original; as was the underlying theme of the love of music, ranging for example from classical to jazz, as a part of what it means to be human. Third, the synergistic magical relationship between the Conductors, and their female muses, the Musicarts, born specifically and named after famous musical scores, was intriguing. I found myself rooting for protagonists Takt, the young prodigy, and his Musciart Destiny at every turn, as their experiences caused them to grow closer as a team and stronger as individuals. Unfortunately, this brings me back to my first statement. At only 12 episodes, the story was way way way too short, and left out major explanations: On the enemy D2s, how exactly are Musicarts created. And how the ending was a tad bit… rushed. But being a prequel for a Bandai game set to release next year in 2023… well, budgetary restraints. But this shouldn’t take away that Takt Destiny is fun, yet also intimate and touching; original, not based on lazy writing cliches. Maybe not a Symphony, like Jujusts Kaisen or Chainsawman, more like a lightly refreshing Aria from Mappa. And me applauding from a darkened hall, calling for an encore…

My only question to this anime for now: do they have any headphones? Everyone could like... listen to music, without disturbing these aliens or whatnot... Would be cool am I right? Other than that, I really hope that this anime will turn out good though. We only got 2 episodes and I already have some questions. Which is definitely good. And I literally have no complains about art for now.
Well yeah that is a kind of weak point, but what I think what the anime forces on is not the joy of listening to music itself, but the passion that comes from it and desire to share it with others. Think about it, even in real life the best time you have when listening to music is not when you are in headphones, but surrounded by others. Should it be a concert with thousands of people on some stadium or just a random party in your friends pace that happens to have a guitar. Those moments happen not often, but bring quite good memories.
@@seldogrif9732 You have to give it some time to explain things. But You can't give a live performance off a real instrument over headphones so you don't actually even have a point. The only thing head phones could do is let people listen to music but it does nothing for making it. I would guess the D2 can still pick up headphone vibrations as well.
My theory is that after the meteor showers any sound related to music is being amplified. For example at the start of the first episode you will notice that the sound of the piano reaches quite far as both the woman with the girl hear it somewhat clearly as well as the D2 which was kilometers away.
The conductor was supposed to protect the people, I assume with their Musicart, but it showed them leaving during Takt’s performance. Idk, I think it was a set up, lol.
My main question here is why all of a sudden is there one day in the year where you can play music outside when you generally shouldn't overall? Like what made them think that they could safely all of a sudden play music outside again? I'm not hating, just genuinely confused because the D2's coming seemed like a surprise when it was explained in the beginning of the show that they are attracted to music hence why no one plays music anymore.
To my knowledge judging off the opening and the episode, the Conductors were there to keep watch. If any D2 attacked, they would fight them off with their Musicart, like that blue haired girl. Oddly though, the grand maestro dude ended up leaving during Takt’s performance, so I honestly think it was a set up
Supposedly, there were fewer sightings of D2 and with the Grand Maestro giving his approval everyone thought it was safe. It is like in Jaws where the official says it is safe to go to the beach again, but the shark is still out there.
