Did you know that 'kuwabara kuwabara' is an expression used to ward off evil or bad luck? Or that 賽の河原 (Sai no Kawara) refers to a mythical place in Japanese folklore where the souls of deceased children build stone towers? andd 4 shaku, 4 sun, 4 bu are old Japanese units of length, hinting at the size of a spirit! “Senaka ni ima hane ga haeta narabaaa” The way you emphasized and extended your holding of the note at the end of naraba is such a small difference from the original and other covers I’ve heard, barely even noticeable, but with your tone, coupled with the instrumentation in the back, it adds such a nice touch and a feeling of resonance/harmony that helps the lyrics flow so well into the next few lines, that I keep rewinding to hear chorus over and over again rather than the haireta part for the original and other covers! Just because of that one small difference, your cover holds so much more individuality and memorability that it just ranks at the top of my list alongside the original. Add on your aggressive, punk-like way of singing this song - chef’s kiss! Amazing job!
