I first saw TPIR in August 1993. I was 8.
The next time Golden Road was played in Season 18, 1/23/90, is when I was born.
8:09 - YES!!! Laura nailed that legendary Cadillac Allante convertible! The biggest win in TPIR history, and on the first show of the beginning of the 1990s decade. Way to go, Laura!!!

Pretty much often. As long as the 4-digit prize is won. Most fans consider that a "partial win" (winning the 3-digit prize alone does not count, as it is most often a gimme).
yeah right sir my brother had a cadillac car in 2010 or 2011 but it was wasting too much gas. he had one when he was 16 or 17.
There was an edit there lol. I think there was a problem with who was supposed to go up.
...and to think that the first times they played Golden Road in 1975, the top prize "had FIVE digits!" ($10,000-12,000), the SECOND prize was only $1,000.
Here, the SECOND prize was $9,780! Fifteen years.
millenniumman75 It’s definitely rare for the second prize to be $9,000+, but also consider that at this point, they were still offering CARS that weren’t that expensive! 😮

I would have been in second grade on this day, and probably still out of school on Christmas break... chances are I got up and watched Feud, Wheel, and then this... and then turned on the Nintendo and played Super Mario Bros. 3 about the time the Young and the Restless came on.
In fact... I almost guarantee it.
I was going to turn 3 yrs old in march of 1990 and went to school the following year.
