I think Behringer is about ready to design their own unique semi-modular synthesizer in the $1000 to $1500 range and make it a unique beast from the ground up. The Neutron, the Proton, the Deep Mind are wonderful originals. Even if it's just an exercise for your designers and engineers and only one is made. I wonder what Behringer could pack into such an original and still make a justifiable profit. @UilBehringer Let's see the swan-song synth.
Before they consider that they need to extend their digital synths. They have done a great job with chips. But digital wavetable, harmonic, samplers, granular - it is lacking. I think they do a braids type module, so they could do a microfreak style synth and add some chip based synths ( 1 poly & 1 mono then drums. Make a nice groovebox with some MPE.
Man, sounds awesome. Only thing I would change is instead of having bypass, 1/2 and 1 by pushing a button, I would prefer a knob to be able to slowly ramp from 0 to full, then put the amplitude modulation on it's own
Maybe it's just a feeling. I get a feeling this is another great doll which can say'i love you' or "hello". Just because it can't tell another comprehensive sentence it doesn't mean it can't express emotion.
@@al.cavalu No, the doepfer does that, but I got similar sounds with the modamp to some of them in this video. Without the modamp, I get similar results with my neutron and the A-137-1 only with more cvs and pots. I do like this proton, but I wanted it 3 or 4 years ago. Built my eurorack system up to complete now, and have no more space or funds for the proton.
After using the Bifold with my Neutron this sounds like a very mild wavefolder. Anyways, I'll test it tomorrow if my Proton arrives on time. Btw, It could be interesting to know the normalised routing not provided in the manual.
i got mine from a shop this week , if you go in and speak to the manager ask to see what stock is in the storeroom , if you offer half price he will give one to you , they are not on sale but you have to go into the shop , only go into the small shops
Its kinda like pulse width modulation! But for other waveforms it seems right? Looks like it gets into fm territory as well….. 😮 Also rip Dan 🙏🏻 nice to hear his voice

Sounds inspiring but I have 3 (good) questions : - Does any schema routing exist ? (Can't find it anywhere .....) - Is it possible to have true duophony VC1 in VCF 1 in VCA 1 / VCO 2 in VCF 2 in VCA 2 & all in the mixer ? - Can't see any clock input in the patchbay ; Clocking LFO is only through MIDI ?! Thanks a lot guys, and I can't wait for the VCS3 (like many).
Yes nice! Apart or an old Russian lamp sound what else did you like? LoL sounds great. Like switching presets in my VST. The only bummer you can't save it. It's playable! Not only as a lam but more !!!
Good point. Thank God there are some musicians here. The answer is not really according to manual its 2-3 MIDI CCS .I believe this will not be sufficient to control such extensive and complicated synth. You could make effects for sure with badass sound quality!!!
I did hoped that it has the same schematic of Wavefolder like in 0-coast. Seems that Volca Modular has a deeper wavefolder, right? 😅 I've got it from second hands for about 100$ in mint condition and the owner gifted me a beefy PSU for it.
Nope, only CVnear as i can tell If it is anything like the Neutron, it isnt very responsive to MIDI at all. You only get pitch , gate on/off, and LFO rates respond to MIDI CC/MIDI Clock by default, and you get one extra assignable "modulation" parameter in the patch bay, to say send a few possible parameters like mod wheel or velocity out to various patch bay mod destinations. Mine was set to mod wheel depth out of the box, which i am fine with so i never explored it deeper. These Behringer synths are designed like oldschool analog synths, so their MIDI implementation is VERY basic
No. Phase distortion is quite different from wave folding. I'm not sure you could do analog phase distortion since it is all about changing the rate at which you read a digital waveform.
We already have a ton of good, vintage inspired gear from you without patch memory. Please stop doing this! One thing I dislike about this approach is when I come up with a sound Iike, it will get lost. I could snap a picture of the panel but with your modern original gear there should be no good reason today to continue this trend in my opinion.

If you hook them up to midi and speakers instead of just sitting on them you might enjoy them more
