Then to make a bigger impact (JJ tries to validate her actions) he says to her if I became addicted to dilaudid again, would you have told me she was alive? Good point. However, it has come full circle and the three of them are tight and now he's the one in trouble. I hope they don't end the show this year.
Morgan basically had to watch her die and dealt with survivor's guilt on top of grief. Reid had grief and struggled with depression and thoughts of drug abuse and had his trust in those he believed in most ripped away from him. It was a toss-up for sure
I wouldn't able to imagine how it would feel to break down and cry over someones death, bury them, and then the next day have them walk into the office like "It was just a prank bruh!"

I just watched the episode, and the following one; very surprised Penelope didn't slap somebody after the shock settled; Emily, Hotch, maybe not JJ due to Henry, but she certainly took this news better and was more forgiving than Reed was.
IMHO, one of the heaviest scene's done by the actors in the show, maybe only comparable to Hotch's grief at the sight of his murdered wife. Their shock was palpable, and Emily looked like she felt guilty for being alive.
Seriously I have seen that episode many times, and every single time I always cry! And I'm not a "Crier" at all. But him talking to Jack and telling him to hug his mommy for me, it s just awful. As a mom I couldn't imagine knowing my child and his mother were in the hands of such a sick psychopath and knowing that although you're on your way but just can't get there in time. Ugh Such an emotional scene and he did it perfectly!
I would say this scene is second to Haley's execution. Maeve being murdered in front of them is real close to this one. I wouldn't argue anyone putting that one up.

You could feel everything they felt. The betrayel from the lies, the relief knowing she's alive. Confusion, anger, sadness, the whole scene is just flooded with emotions.
He was Hurt because he blamed himself for Emily's "Death". He felt guilty because he didn't get to her sooner. The 7 months between Emily's death and this episode, Morgan carried around that guilt. So finding out she was alive and his Supervisor and friend JJ was lying to him, could only be felt with Anger and co confusion

honestly i think reid and morgan both took it the hardest. morgan watched her ‘die’ and for months lived in guilt of not being able to save her. they were friends/partners and he felt as if he had failed her. reid on the other hand thought about going back to his drug addiction and he most likely has abandonment issues from his dad leaving when he was a kid. plus him and emily connected on a lot of things as well since they had more in common. but i think they both took it equally as hard

When she died I was literally bawling, like legit tears pouring down my face, and then when she was revealed to be alive I literally started hitting my mattress and screaming I was so mad. Never in my life have I been that happy/furious that my emotions totally got played. This twist was so good though great job on their part

Can you imagine how Emily felt. She had to create a new life and all throughout that just wishing she could go tell them she was still alive. Can you imagine all your friends thinking your dead and knowing their grieving over you. Not to mention always living in fear that Doile might figure out she is alive like the first time.
After the Ian Doyle arc and the post arc episodes in 6, this episode made me happy. Emily returning, Ian getting captured, and in the end put him and another international criminal down. :) Emily is my favorite character and I’m glad she came back this season.
Emily and David are my favorite characters. I was so happy that they brought her back for the rest of the series, and that she became the new unit chief. And David, how he starts out so closed off then becomes like a father figure to all of them. And his witty remarks. I love this show and I will miss it! T_T

Anyone else notice that in Lauren (the episode where Emily "died") she had bangs yet in the flashback sequences no bangs in sight. It is just a small continuity error that bugs me for some reason. I speculate this is because Paget grew her bangs out after she was effectivly fired hence the no bangs during the flashbacks. But they do know there is a such a thing as wig right? Paget starting wearing one in season 14 and in season 9 when emily made a breif appearence to save JJ she wore one with bangs for a flashback scene to 2011.

Loved Penelope's line of "She's alive"? That line made me get up the water works with her.I love love love Criminal Minds!!!!!!🙂
This makes me think about the many times while grieving the loss of someone I would hope I could get to see them again as if they weren’t actually dead but never thought about how I would feel or react if that actually happened
