Hopefully there are plans to put an aftermarket exhaust on. I know its cliche but Flowmasters sound really good on those old 2v 4.6s. Fog lamps on these are a simple pull of the headlight switch btw. The LEDs in the center look pretty sharp.
@@dadasaurusrex5461 Hey man, thanks for watching. Yep, I’ve talked about the exhaust in several videos since this one. It’s not going to be a 2V for much longer. Looking at LTH, catless mid pipe, and Borla Stingers or similar. Good info on the fog lights, will be looking to add them when I do the Cobra front end conversion. Haha I have no idea what those were, the previous owner had a funky lights setup before. Decided to keep those front ones though.
My favorite engine the beautiful sounding modular 4.6L V8, who cares about speed when you can hear that V8 screaming all the time! Maaan if I wasn’t so invested in getting a Benz right now I’d definitely go buy one in a heart beat! But these 4.6’s will be my second car for fun & to learn manual
They've quickly become a classic screamin' American V8, I'm 100% with you but it will be fast one day. Bro go get that Benz, you won't regret it just stick to your plans and get the 4.6 as a second car to learn stickshift, exactly what I did. Having the comfy German daily (it's Stage 2 now) and the obnoxious project car is a great combo.
True shit, I'm looking to swap a 4v next spring/summer and get a nice exhaust setup and a blower. Cammed 2v's are nice too, I have too many miles on my stock motor tho
@@RawdawgSpeedStunts dig the content, I have a 2010 GT 5 speed, with a roush exhaust with cats still installed. I like the way mine sounds I could recommend getting a roush one since that’s the only exhaust I have put on it. Or you could do ORX pipe with a popcorn tune and be that guy lol still sounds badass.
@NudaMan Sweet, you’ll love the car. Be very very careful, that price would lead me to believe something’s wrong. Is it a personal seller or dealer? I got insanely lucky with my 200k miles, it was a Florida car it’s whole life, spent only 1 year in Milwaukee but was kept in a garage. Previous owner has proof of every oil change and service since the car was built, which is all why I bought it instead of one with 100k or less. Look under the whole car check for frame and body rust, look closely at the control arms and struts, particularly the ball joints they get dry-rotted out. Listen for any weird timing while the engine’s running and inspect everything, I’m not an expert I would highly recommend doing thorough research on high mileage new edges. When I was looking for one, every single car under 5k had either: crazy rust, horrible paint or even damaged body panels, or modified. I chose to spend a little bit more at 6k for the 200k miles, but most of the engine besides the long block had been refurbished, body and paint in excellent condition, and spent most of its life being driven by an old guy in Florida or in someone’s garage as a project car they never got started on. (Owner before me was going to coyote swap but got a C5 corvette and started modding that instead) Hope this helps, reach out if you need any more advice. Either way you’ll love it, just want to make sure you don’t end up having to invest that same $4400 (or more) just fixing shit you didn’t know about.
Why are you cutting the rubber exhaust hangers?? the metal hangers slide out with a little muscle… That’s a beautiful car in a nice color.. Atlantic Blue I believe..
Judging by the fact we resorted to an angle grinder, I think we tried that 😂. Done plenty of tough exhaust hangers before, these were stuck stuck. Maybe you could've got em but I'll tell ya we could not... Thanks man I appreciate it, much respect!
Thanks dude, appreciate the recommendations. I'm going to save the money on the exhaust as It's going to be put away for the winter in about 2-3 months and when it comes back out next spring I'm swapping in a Cobra motor and trans. For that I'm getting LTH, Catted X-Pipe, and Borla Stingers I'm thinking.
Oh yeah that will be the cheapest. Run some pipe out to the rear an get some tips. The rear O2 sensor isn't a necessity for these engines. They just monitor the catalytic converters ability to lower emissions. An have no input on how the motor runs. So even if you keep the rear O2 sensors an have no cats on the car it will still throw a check engine code but won't change performance or reliability
I had a 2000 gt auto. Yes these cars are slow stock lol get a xpipe and catback, gears amd lower it and youll have a funish mustang. what part of illinois are you from?
Hey friend, thanks for watching and for the recommendations. I happen to have much larger plans for this car as I bought it as a project. This year Engine and Trans swap, I really want to find a 4.6 4V from a Mach 1 or Cobra but if I can’t then Gen 3 Coyote is the move. Tremec T-56 if 4.6, MT-82 if 5.0. It’s already on coilovers, you can go catch up on those videos if you want. Exhaust post/swap: Catless LTH, Catless X-Pipe, and some sports mufflers maybe the Borla Stingers. Still have much research to do, and it depends on the engine I go with. Thinking of swapping the rear end too if I can find a good donor car and a cheap-enough shop. I’m in Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs, Schaumburg area.

Put some gear in the rear end will help it out a lot
Straight pipe it out to the bumper an it will dull some of the cab feedback but still have a ripping sound under throttle 👍
Good idea, looking at cheap options for now cause I wanna cobra swap next spring!
