- We’re at the 3rd Annual Cirrus Truck Camper Rally near the NuCamp factory in Sugar Creek, Ohio, where we met up with more than a dozen owners who let us tour their rigs and shared their favorite mods, features, tips and tricks for truck camper life. Every model of Cirrus was represented: 800, 820, 920, 720 and the new 620, and we toured them all. Wonder why people choose truck campers and why these owners love their Cirrus? Be sure to check out this video. You'll find fantastic ideas for storage, organization, and mods, both big and small. Meet the owners who kindly let us inside their campers. Thanks to Jack Reall for organizing the rally, Timbercrest Camp and RV Park for hosting us and to NuCamp for bringing out their team with wine, coffee, doughnuts, merch and their expertise. We could not have asked for more. We made so many new friends and hope to see you all down the road!
Welcome to Outer Limits Open Road. We are Bill and Kelli. We downsized from a big house to a 470 square foot condo. Not satisfied, we jettisoned even more stuff and took off in a 100 square foot tiny truck camper named Lucidity Base. We’re off to see the country in our RV, one quirky roadside attraction at a time. There may be treats. Please join us by subscribing to follow our journey.

So helpful, thank you for sharing this video! I'm excited to visit a dealer and learn more.
Lots of good mods.
Thanks for sharing these mods.
I’m waiting for the redesigned 920 to come out ! Then I’ll buy !!
Super inspirational! Great Video!
Nice job Kelli!
Glad you liked it :)
I enjoyed watching this very much! I have been looking at the "B" vans, but the expense does not justify getting one. I really think the truck campers are perfect! Gotta love a company (Cirrus) that values input from their customers. I hope those in charge have seen the mods people have made and use them in future campers! Thanks for one of the very best videos I have seen in a great while!
We can tell you that NuCamp does in fact mod campers based on customer feedback. This is our 3rd NuCamp and we wouldn't have anything else. Thanks for watching!
Agree
My wife and I have looked at "B" vans, but like you, the expense is out of my range. I've not considered a truck camper until this morning when I happened upon a review video of 2022 820...I may go look at one this week. What truck do you use?
@@frankt7521 A truck and a slide combined are the same price as a B van .
Thanks so much for making this video. You did an excellent job! So glad you edited my goof ups out of it!! Hope to see y’all next time!!!
I don't remember any goofs. Just you being charismatic!
Best rally video I’ve seen. Very informative and a great variety of mods. Been thinking about a Cirrus and how it could work for me in very practical terms, and your video offered me a lot. Thanks so much.
Thanks for your kind words Joan. It was impromptu. We were at the rally and I realized how valuable it would be because I would have wanted that same thing when we were choosing our camper. I ran around and tried to convince everyone to let me in. They were so gracious! Not a single turn down. That's the kind of people they are.
@@OuterLimitsOpenRoad Well thanks for running around to make it happen. The editing was tight and provided just the right mix of owners stories, mini-tours and modifications. Many rally and rv show videos are meandering and just walking around. So impromptu one, thanks again for the quality production and editing.
Great video!
This is such an informative video! Thank you so much for sharing!!
Wish everyone could have been there! Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks. Really love to see all the ideas. Could have watched for 2 hrs.
See, now that's just an invitation to make another, lol.
We just bought a 620 and receive it in a few days. I was hopeful to see some mods people did to their 620. From our 620 walkthrough I knew we would have to really be inventive to get the most out of the smaller space.
Some of the other great mods I would have loved the owner to say where their sourced the products. Great ideas.
The mods I liked are
The truck bed rail laundry rack.
Fold out trash container.
Hi Karen. Most of the owners are part of the Facebook group for Cirrus owners and I'm sure can hook you up with links there. I know that the folding shelf is linked in the comments here. Congrats on your purchase!
Nice video Kelli!
Thanks Cheri. All such lovely people.
Love the bathroom design on the 720, wish Nucamp would have kept it.
We were entranced when we first saw it too. The owner is redesigning the 720 so it will be back!
Thanks! We have a 2020 720 but didn't make it to the rally. We really like our camper!
We have always loved the 720. Look forward to meeting you!
Nice campers for sure
I love this, MORE! lol
Really like most of the 820 rigs here, but don't understand why they don't complain about the small dinette table?
Who is the unit for a F150 4x4?
A 620 is the only one.
Seems like you would need a f-250 or 2500 truck to get around with these things? All I have is a Ford F-150 v-8 engine Stx model with a standard cap . Oh well I can still dream though.
The exception is the Cirrus 650. You can put that on an F150.
I am very finicky on what and how things are made, am a mechanical prodigy ,like how they craft there campers, but am sad they didn't continue with the 670 model, if they had I would have bought it in a heart beat, I drive what I call a heavy half ton, it is modified to haul heavy objects ,it has ability like a 3/4 ton.
There are a lot of us with a hybrid version in our heads. Our perfect camper. We also would love a lighter camper but with a wet bath. The 720 was intriguing. The owner is personally playing around with the 720 to see if he can find a more viable middle path. In my 800 right now and last night stayed up too late photographing stars from the stargazer window!
@@OuterLimitsOpenRoad forgot to mention my 1/2 ton is a oversized 4x4 ,and I can go places most wouldn't dare, so that 720 would have fit the bill, and besides I normally hate new things, my truck is over 30 yrs old ,and still runs great.
I know, a viable 1/2 ton would be awesome. As most trucks are 1/2 ton, that's a lot of potential sales!
who makes that folding shelf? cant find it on Amazon
I am told it's this one :
