the plants in the water look like gunnera. If that laurel shrub had some flaky red bark, it probably was a madrone. looks like it might have been a little warm for a long hike but you got some great landscape photography .
how were the bugs
They were insatiable lol. I may have been bit well over a 100 times 😂
