Out of every video showing the Early 2000s, this one gives off the most Early 2000’s vibes. The song on the radio, the PS2 billboard, the towers, you just don’t see that anymore.
You’re completly right 👍
@@futuretraveldroneyes 😢 good times
The two most iconic and beautiful grey rectangles in the world
before it was burned down by Islamist terrorists, and... well it was a long time ago...
I miss them 😿🔫💗
My parents and my uncle told me that 1980-2001 were the best years to live in everything was cheap from gas prices to food and even paying for apartments and home was very cheap. But the 9/11 changed everything and whole world😭😭😥😥
yes, you're right!!!
@Ukranian Driver Sergii Everything didn't just immediately change after 9/11, the event mainly started a war and heightened security. In *my* opinion, the real change we see today began after Obama was elected. 2008 was the start of the Great Recession, the beginning of the SJW crap and identity politics, etc... America was arguably still normal and a lot less divided in the Bush era compared to the Obama era & onwards.
@@Galidorquest After 2008, things just got weird. Nothing has been the same since Obama and the sjws took over.
@@godzilla9268 Especially after Trayvon Martin's death and the legalization of S.S. marriage.
I remember 2001, fun year for me. I miss them days!
The entire time it felt like I was in the car with you, when I noticed the towers I had to suspend my disbelief for a moment and slump in my seat. Thanks for uploading this.
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching.
Music makes that time feel just like yesterday, too bad 9/11 happened =(
I find myself coming back to this video time and time again because it is the purest of time capsules. The music, the traffic, the sound of the highway and cars, and of course the skyline.
Unlike so many videos you find of driving down the highway with the Twin Towers in the background, the fact that the raw sound from that day so long ago is still intact just adds to a wonderful sense of nostalgia, where you can imagine yourself in gridlock on the bridge just admiring the view as you wait for the cars ahead to start moving again.
Truly this is one of my favourite little videos on UA-cam, one probably shot as just a little bit of fun at the time, but now perhaps the perfect encapsulation of a world that died nearly a quarter of a century ago. 🙂
I'm loving the songs, man I wish I went to New York or even lived during that time.
The music was so good then.
We need a time machine..
Exactly
Ha, "Miss Jackson", remember hearing that song on the radio a lot back in '01. Good times.
Or the song "Hey Ya" by outkast, beautiful times
@@MyLife_in_aNutshellreally? Didn't know 9/11 happened in 2003 (when Hey Ya was released...)
I love that ps2 billboard
1:57 looks like a plane hit the building
just one of the daily planes aproaching newark airport
Prediction
Bro, no it did not, stop that, you literally gave me a scare.
@@thetimeisnowtaine84you were "scared" of something you did not even see with your own eyes? And why would you be "scared"? The video is clearly not about 9/11... Genius
@@thetimeisnowtaine84You want to be scared? Wait until you see the Illuminati foreshadowing antecedent to September 11ᵗʰ?
I miss this view from my childhood. That's the NYC I grew up. THAT WAS THE REAL NYC. THE REAL NY. 1:49 - 1:55 former water towers in Jersey that were demolished that July or Aug (summer) of 2001. Eerie.
These towers were at Brooklyn on Vandervoort Avenue
@@futuretraveldrone yes, thank you for the correction and I live in Brooklyn 😂 also the song being played on the radio I remember that song and listening to it on my uncle's old car radio. Radio music back in the 90's and early 2000's
That song "Baby look at us"...as if the towers were speaking to you 😢
Oh yes 😢
The tunes were so on point! But ur really telling me that europop is playing on a radio in mid 2001?
None of that songs are europop 🤷
@@futuretraveldrone At 1:12 is Look At Us which is considered Europop
At least, they lived peacefully. (Edit: my grandparents went up the WTC in 2001. 5 months before the attack. Unsure switch tower.)
Probably the South Tower if they went to the observation deck. If they went to the restaurant at the top it was the North Tower.
Beautiful footage. Wish I had seen the towers, I was only 4 when they were destroyed. Thank you for posting this. Quick question, do you remember what month was this footage taken?
Ryan Touhey thank you. Probably January 2001
@@futuretraveldrone Cool, thanks
Same here. Went to the top of the Empire State building in 97. I was 9. Looked south and saw the towers and said then to my parent i want to go to the top of the towers next trip. Never got to do it
@@sandman4115 Aw man, I’m sorry that you didn’t get the chance to do so.
9/11 really ruined everything. If the terrorist plot ended up getting foiled or never is cooked up, and those wonderful towers were still here today, things would’ve been so much better. Sure, another terrorist plot would’ve happened in 9/11’s place had it ended up being a foiled plot (probably on the night of the 2004 presidential elections) but still, we would’ve been better off.
Even my birth generation (Gen Z), would’ve had a better appreciation for the Twin Towers if they still existed. Sadly, 9/11 has caused Gen Z to remember them as buildings that were brought down by cowardly mass murders that had a vendetta against America, and have a better appreciation for the new World Trade Center complex.
I mean, I do think the new WTC is nice and beautiful, but I do wish the original World Trade Center was still here today. Sure they wouldn’t be the tallest buildings in the city as taller ones would be constructed sometime around the mid-to-late 2010’s, but they would still be the tallest in Lower Manhattan, and continue to be a popular American icon today.
You’re Completly right !!! There is still chance they gonna build another glass tower next to it.
Wow I haven't heard that look at us now song since then. I sat in traffic on the BQE looking at those towers many times growing up, especially the part south of this by the promenade. The trees are all bare so I;m guessing this is probably January or February. Love the PS2 billboard
Yes It's probably January 2001
So much nostalgia. The music, the billboard, the skyline. Miss them days.
i hope if i was there it was just better than now
What month and date was it? Was it August 2001? I believe it was one month before 9/11 attacks.
January/February 2001

Great memories gonna stay with you forever 👍
The twins towers but l will go back to 2001 9/11 and save the NORTH TOWER!!!!!
Wow a Joker here.
Being on the manhattan bridge you would’ve had a crazy ass view of the first plane.
I'm sorry ms Jackson
Little did they know....
Amazing! Do you have more clips?
I'm gonna check my library, If I find anything I'm gonna post it.
I’ve posted some videos from year 1990 with WTC.
rock! no traffic
It brings back a lot of memories.
David C sure does my friend
@@xlranger4258 I traveled on the BQE, southbound, for the first time since 1999 a few years ago. Looking at the Lower Manhattan skyline, I immediately thought of the Twin Towers, and eulogized them in my head.

@@futuretraveldrone Dude, how was the life in that years???, The new millennium.. the new technology.. you know, and seen the Original World Trade Center??, I miss them
