Last week and away from Motorhoming, My company sent me to Alloa in Scotland. Sophie was allowed to come too for the ride in a nice Jaguar car. We stayed overnight in Sterling, but couldn't resist calling into Moffat on our way home on Thursday. A lovely little town inspired by you where we stayed for two nights on route for our last Scottish Highland tour. A walk up and down the high street brought back many memories. Happy Christmas to you, Jenny and Poppy. Dave and Sophie xx

We stayed there on a serviced pitch with our old caravan a few years ago. It had an unusual water connection for which we had to buy both an adaptor and a second length of pipe from their handy shop (where else!) They seemed surprised that we considered it unusual and were very quick to say that it was all C&MC equivalent standard. Never needed that connector once since (or the second length of pipe!)

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo

Fortunately I have an in line hoselok connector, I use it to connect both ends of my hose pipe so it doesn't drip.

Hi Bob and Jenny, I'm Shrewsbury born and bred originally so it's like going back home for a visit for me. We were on pitch 9 at the end of September but for some reason we found the TV reception was not so good. Have you found it ok? We are there again next Thursday for three nights , 3 for 2 very good deal. Its a great site and the park and ride into town is cheap as chips! Talking about chips....I can highly recommend the chip shop at the end of the road. Enjoy your stay.

Your campgrounds are 1000 x's better than here in the US! The shops, laundry facilities, toilets and showers WOW!! Also we can't go here in the winter in Illinois because of the weather. Campgrounds are closed October to April and we have to drain and winterize our campers/motorhomes to prevent freezing. Did I hear you mention tank heaters? We have what we call 'snowbirds' over here. The people who go to the southern states, Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi etc to avoid the northern winters.

Hi Bob and Jenny, that looks a really nice site, for some reason I wasn’t expecting it to be as nice (no rationale as to why either!) - thanks for showing us around - one for the to-do list.
The dog walk looked handy (and looked like it was enclosed so if no one else in you could let your dog off the lead knowing it’s enclosed?) don’t mind paying for the dog at £1.50 when they have facilities either. Not too bad overall price either and always nice to get an offer or discount.

What a coincidence, we left the pitch you are on Friday morning. Be careful with your fresh water, we have the same insulated Swift dump valve, although the valve opened ok there was ice in the pipe which took time getting it to drain, miight be worth saving some hot water in case you have the same problem. If you go to the prison wear some very very warm clothes, it's freezing inside.
    Paul

    • @paulboam8569
      @paulboam8569 2 роки тому

@@BobEarnshawMoHo The problem was with the fresh water, the blockage (ice) was outside just before the valve. The fresh tank is under a seat so doesn't need a heater. No problem with the waste, that's outside but I did leave it to fill so the tank heater would come on. Paul

Yes, been filming facilities for around 5 years. Only if there is no one in there though.

15 minutes of driving footage? I only mean this to be constructive, but is that not a little excessive? We're travelling the Pan American highway, which is often stunning and I don't think I could post that much footage. As I said, I only mean to be constructive. Clearly people enjoying watching clips of motorway driving 😬

I LOVE it and the MAIN REASON why I started WATCHING! Greetings from Arabia! ☺

I spend hours putting in chapters so people can skip the driving part. I don't film a lot of motorways, but the junctions and interesting bits like the the Mersey Gateway. I like to show how I got there! If I was driving across America I'd still film how I got there, not as many roundabouts though!

@@BobEarnshawMoHo As I said, I only wanted it to be construstive feedback. Chapters are useful, but it's a shame to encourage people to skip. Could you not add a split screen of you in the cab more, or a live screen shot of google maps showing where you are? Only wanted to give some feedback to help.

@@vanlifetipstech I understand your feedback BUT I am not interested in looking at a split screen BUT living, here, in Arabia I LOVE the greenery and white frost and how Bob slows down the filming and zooms in on important signs etc. ☺ I REALLY love EVERYTHING that he and Jenny (including their two dogs!), do to spend the EXTRA time in editing. It takes LONG hours: I know of choosing the RIGHT music etc etc!
-THANK YOU Bob from all of us who appreciate your videos and the EXTRA time in your production of them! ☺

I did used to do a picture in picture, at the beginning of our Arriving at videos. I might start doing that again. I do usually put a route map on the screen.
