It’s so confusing to see the remake has such a low scare. Particularly because I remember when it came out it had so many great reviews. Personally I enjoyed Leatherface and thought it was quite interesting. Easily my worst of the series is part 3

Because it wasn't that great as a "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" Film...
It's no way a Low budgeted 1970's film with barely any blood and no where near the technology
should be rated the Highest in the franchise lol, that's just sad...It's as if the Directors and producers
are not true fans and lack the ability to understand what made TCM so great,
the 2003 Remake was a typical over the top action slasher, nothing about it was original,
the cinematography was great but the Film just didn't have that creepy backwoods of Texas feel to it,
Leatherface is a mentally challenged child like creepy killer with awkward gestures and behavior,
not some big roid raging body builder cliché with the same personality as every other slasher horror villain
and the family was boring and forgettable, people thought Shariff Hoyt was good but he pretty much took
the shine from Leatherface, I'd say this movie is great as a standalone, basically if it wasn't called "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"
I just can't understand why they can't stick to the roots when making these films, I just don't get it...
I'd say a 37% rating is more than fair...I would have given it a 15%...This is all my opinion of course lol.

For me, Leatherface (2017) was actually decent. I enjoy the different take, the acting, the cinematography, and direction. Leatherface (2017), TCM 2, the remake and it’s sequel/prequel deserves at least a 50%. I personally enjoy Next Generation too but I have to agree with its RT score. I can see TCM (2022) getting between a 27% - 40% on RT
I agree 100%. The 2003 remake was my favorite as well. The pacing was better, it was more scary and disturbing, and it didn’t kill all the characters in the first half of the film. Frankly, I’d say second place for me also fluctuates between the ‘74 version and “The Beginning.” It explained a lot and had a ballsy ending.
As far as the original series goes, I thought part 2 didn’t balance the humor well enough with the genuinely disturbing shit. Part 3 was a good movie on its own, but I found it confusing in continuity. Part 4, like you said, is batshit (and I’d add it has a terrible ending), but it’s worth the price of admission for Mathew McConaughey’s campy performance.
Texas Chainsaw 3D was microwaved garbage.

as a fan of the series & a person who now lives in Texas (which I actually got to visit both the Sawyer House "aka the Kingsland Grand Central Cafe" & The Gas Station last summer on August 18th, which is the same exact date that the original film took place), I don't agree with the majority of the scores on this list. here is my ranking of the series from Best to Worst:

Critics are insane. The remake and Beginning are the perfect pair! 14% my arse! What a shocking list. I assume, as usual, most of these critics aren’t horror fans.

People take The Next Generation wayyyyy too seriously. It’s intended to be silly, and it’s vastly entertaining. People always complain how bad it is and it’s too cheesy. And I always say....well ya no sh*t! Just gotta have fun with it
The fact the films review embargo doesn’t lift until the day of release is a VERY bad sign
I would say the OG, the 2003 remake, and the Next Generation are the best of the franchise. The original is pure horror, the remake is intense, and the Next Generation is colorfully bizarre!

The Remake is my favourite and I can’t believe it only got 37%, The critics must have been smoking on crack when they reviewed it and The Beginning should have been a lot higher as well.

What I enjoy about the TCM franchise is they always try different things. I always get excited about a new TCM movie because you never know what you are going to get. I think the critics are overly harsh on these movie because what they stand for and what they started. Any movie with the word Chainsaw is not going to get positive reviews. LOL. Great video! Cheers.

i like the 2003 remake there is no way its a bad horror movie, you can see Friday the 13th 2009 tried to copy it , and failed, i always thought that was a really decent remake among the horror genre compared to the big 3.
I will give my thoughts/opinions on the new TCM movie on Friday, but almost immediately, I'm not looking forward to it. however, as far as the scores is concerned, I would strongly advise people to not take Rotten Tomatoes scores serious since the site and it's scores are not reliable. critics can be full of shit & biased as I've seen with Halloween Kills, many of them are paid off to give scores a good or bad ranking, the site has been known to have review bombing on both sides, and the score ranking itself is very inconsistent. take my word for it: Rotton Tomatoes scores don't mean anything.

Absolutely bat shit that's their ranking but I guess if you're not into that type of film and you see one of them, they're getting a shit score regardless and you're not watching the rest.
Keeping my expectations rock bottom for Friday....hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised but that's probably me being too optimistic just saying that!

I think the original deserves 100%. I genuinely find it perfect. The flaws don’t really bother me at all, I find them to be part of the charm. The 2003 remake I think deserves higher, but not much higher I do find it to be far inferior to the original and redundant right out of the gate. The Beginning I think is better than Next Generation, but tbh 20% would be more accurate. It’s a dull watch for me. Leatherface TCM 3 is so bland I think that deserves a 0%, it’s such a nothing film. 3D and Leatherface 2017 aren’t as bad I think, 3D is stupid and tedious but the opening flashbacks to 74 are so well done it’s hard to hate. Leatherface 2017 is refreshingly different, but it also suffers from lack of tension. It doesn’t really go anywhere, but it was nice to have a change of pace in the series. TCM 2 is bad, and I hate it

@@WolfmansGotNards I really do think the only one worth a damn is the 74 original, the rest are middling to awful. Yeah they all have redeeming qualities, but none of them have ever hit the highs of 74 for me. The 2003 remake is the closest to that, and I do like it but I just don’t see why it needed to exist in the first place
@7:00 Noooo lol, For a 1970's horror film with a laughable low budget, this film was flawless,
the actors all had far less acting experience and out performed all of the actors in the newer TCM films,
it wouldn't be fair to hold a 70's film to the same standard as today's modern versions with far more resources
and technologies, funny thing is, TCM 1974 is actually more scary and creepier than all of them.

none of this are great movies even the ones i like are three star at best but next generation a better score over the beginning .
the beginning i would compare to a big mac its not great food but tasty stuff the next generartion i imagine is like what it would be like to eat dog crap off your shoe.
i know next generation has its fans and i can defend bad slashers but the next generation is probably still the worst horror movie i have ever seen.
