Kinda like the Zack test, over at Jerry Rig Everything. Abuse it beyond normal use and see what happens. I would like to see you demonstrating better habits at the range with glasses in place, though. The centerfire semiautos aren't your normal bolt-action 22. And maybe a little more attention to muzzle discipline, even when we know it isn't loaded (which they always are...). You are an ambassador in the gun community and what you do it seen as good practice.
I typically wear eye pro but in the rush of getting out there and all the equipment they got left behind. If I had been shooting steel I'd been more concerned but since it was paper only I was ok with the risk. Totally get it though, protect your eyesight.
life isnt always gentle. ive had a dot come off a pistol while shooting, bounce off my hat brim, and land on concrete a few feet away, so it dropped a good 6'. in my case the dots housing was scarred up pretty good, but it still works. nothing wrong with a torture test.
I can't get passed waiting for a charge. Red dots work for a long time. Buying a $2 battery every 6 months is better. Spare battery in my wallet beats having my dot off for hour especially if it's a duty gun. Solution for a made up problem
The nature of the sight you never run out of battery so waiting for a charge because it’s completely dead is unrealistic. Won’t run out until the hood runs out in like 5-8 years lol
@BigClaunch I get that, but I'm not storing my pistol with a hood over the sight. When I need it, I am not going to add another step of taking the hood off before I fire. Just my point of view, hate on it I don't care. I just don't think this innovative

I can think of several different potential issues of you having to swap out your battery that could cost you your life in a pivotal moment just as easily as you claiming removing the hood off this for charging could. I think your stance is more predicated on that you’re stuck in your ways.
@MajrGingervitus agree to disagree. There's a reason the name brand tactical light brands are dual fuel. Charge when you can but put fresh ones in when you need it now. Not to mention OLight schills for good reviews, lights catch on fire, and it's made in China. You do you and buy this gimmicky red dot
