Freddie was an absolute vocal monster. Amazing range. Stupendous control. The ability to switch the grit on and off at virtually any point, at will. And that's before we even get to his stage presence, and creativity. He was one of a kind. Truly unique, and the world became a less interesting place the day he left it.
I'm genuinely not sure you can exist and not have heard this song....like it's no longer "I think, therefore I am", now it's "Oh wait...I know this song, therefore I am"
For someone that was not around when these songs were first out, you are a very sensitive soul to understand what the artist was trying achieve with its audience. Bravo to you and I love your talent to understand at such a young age.
Freddie was and still is adored. You said the song wins the battle against time…. Very very insightful… their music continues to sound relevant today …. I think you will be astounded at how much Queen you already know…,, that cross bubble influence is much greater than you realise 👑❤️👑❤️👑
True fact - Queen are the only band in history where all 4 members wrote number 1 hits. They are true excellence of music and for me top the Beatles for greatest band of all time
In regards to bubbles, it's no surprise that you're somewhat aware of this song. Bohemian Rhapsody is considered by many to be one of the greatest songs of all time.
What I can tell you is that before the internet in the early 70s pop music was massive. This song was always voted in the top 5 songs of all time back then. The other 4 ? Maybe Bridge over troubled water. Stairway to heaven. Without you. And maybe Bat outta hell. That may have come a bit later.
👏👏👏 Great reaction, dear Bisscute! Freddie Mercury had 3 unfinished songs and he put them together into this masterpiece. Why is it so famous? It was absolutely uniqe in that era, they played never listened harmonies, they multilayered the vocals , they created an operatic section and who else started a song like this: "Mama, just killed a man". Freddie never took singing lessons, but he was full of passion and emotions and he could deliver to the audience by a unique way. Pls, check out Somebody To Love from the same Montreal 81. concert.

Man, I still remember hearing this when it first released in late 1975. I was 13 and just getting into serious rock music and I was listening to an NYC FM radio station. I was in my room and this came on and I was totally transfixed. Just astoundingly mesmerized by this song. I had never heard anything even remotely like it. I listened for it to play again that week and I didn't hear it. It was 6 minutes long, almost twice the length of other popular pop songs, so initially, it didn't get a lot of airplay. I was frustrated because I didn't remember the name of the song, so I kept waiting for it to be played again. Midway through the second week, it came on and I got the name of the band and the song. No one I knew at the time listened to Queen yet. They hadn't hit it big. Until this song. Bohemian Rhapsody. Ahhh, good memories. I'm so glad you like the song, Bisscute!
This performance is pretty near perfect. But to truly appreciate the genius of this song you have to watch the official video. You should show this one to your mom! Great reaction.
I've never heard Freddie's voice described as "soul-shaking", but that nails it solid! You totally get what he was about, and considering you've recently found him, he will dive into your heart and shake your soul forever. Roger once described all four members singing together as a "panorama of voices", that is now how I look at them all. A vista of sound and voice. Great reaction!
Oh boy, you have some catching up to do Bisscute, Queen is not just a big name, it is one of THE big names, big difference ;) The movie is named after this song, and the movie centers around a legendary performance that Queen gave the world during "Live Aid" the largest ever benefit concert ever held in aide of African nations suffering drought and starvation. If you are going to watch the movie, you MUST watch the Live Aid performance first, without it the movie will still be good but you'd be missing out on how well the movie recreated the events. Thnx for the react, and keep exploring some Queen, Freddie was a unique talent but the band was/is equally talented and right up there with Freddie in Rock culture and history.
This performance is superb Queen live NEVER lets you down. Time next for you to react to arguably the greatest live performance in history by any band Somebody to Love Montreal 1981.
Freddie Mercury- Lead Singer is one of the greatest singers and the greatest performers ever.By the way.Floor Jansen is called female version of Freddie, she loves him very much.
The movie Bohemian Rhapsody is not a musical but a biopic about the group Queen focusing on Freddie Mercury, their lead singer. Yes, the movie has a lot of Queen songs in it but it is not a musical. FYI - Queen is a British rock group formed in 1970 consisting of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocalist and piano John Deacon - Bass guitarist Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocalist Brian May - Lead guitarist and vocalist You may not think that you know Queen but I bet you know Queen songs like "Another One Bites The Dust", "We Will Rock You", & "We Are The Champions". Queen produced 15 studio albums, many that became gold and platinum hits, released multiple single recordings that became worldwide hits, and played concerts to huge crowds all over the world (in Rio they played to 250,000). They were one of the most influential bands in the 20th century and their influence is still prevalent today (Lady Gaga got her name from the Queen song "Radio Gaga", Vanilla Ice's iconic bass riff in "Ice, Ice Baby was stolen from the Queen/David Bowie hit, "Under Pressure". Unlike the musicians of today, Queen relied only on their talent, no autotune or electronic enhancements. This is why their performances of the songs live in concert are often better than the studio recording. i.e. Compare the studio version of "Someone to Love", which is amazing, ( ua-cam.com/video/kijpcUv-b8M/v-deo.html ) to the live performance of "Someone to Love" at Montreal (ua-cam.com/video/aA2IRoPFIn0/v-deo.html ). Welcome to world of Queen!
You said it perfectly... this song wins the battle of time ... absolutely beautiful way of describing it ....... I'm a fan of yours and I love your queen reactions ❤
Queen are, were remarkable. Freddie was one of a kind and sadly very much missed. There will never be another freddie. God rest his soul. Still very much loved.
5:51 it is indeed raw talent Freddie never took lessons for singing. In Queen everyone sings except for the bass player John Deacon, but he dances a lot lol. Check out Somebody To Love live at Montreal 1981, good camera work and I always love to hear Roger Taylor (the Drummer) sing in the back. Roger Taylor's Vocal range is also pretty high so he often sings really high in the background which always blends in together with Freddie's and Brian's voice so well, very impressive. You probably have heard songs like We Will Rock You and We are the Champions, those are Queen songs. Great reaction.
Freddie had a voice that could sing anything and do it brilliantly. The musicianship of the whole band is exceptional - to the point that they are one of the biggest selling music acts of all time
If you react to another Queen song - and I definitely hope you do - I think you would really enjoy Queen's performance of "Somebody To Love" from the same show in Montreal. It's one of those performances that is so spectacular that it's just on another level. One of the great performances, for sure. I absolutely agree with you that it's interesting to see how certain songs and musicians from the past "win the battle against time." Not only do certain songs survive into the future but, similarly, all musicians are influenced by the musicians who came before them, the ones they grew up listening to. As a result of this never ending chain of influence, there are new bands playing today who might not even realize they're influenced by bands like Queen. Even if they've never listened to Queen directly, they might have been influenced by musicians who were influenced by Queen. That's another way that music and great musicians live on into the future even after their active era has passed. The ripples they create on the surface of the pond of life continue far into the future and their art forms the base of the art that comes after it. Anyway, great reaction! Looking forward to whatever you do next. Please consider putting that "Somebody To Love" performance from Montreal into your rotation though. I truly think you'll love it.
Re the conversation with your parents. Note that Queen made most of their most memorable music in the 70s. Their light dimmed towards the end of the 70s and to a large extent it was Live Aid that relit it and introduced them to a new generation. By then they had become a fabulous live act.
Queen was great live, sometimes even better than the recorded version, but for this song you should really check out the original video. It might even be worth a second post: ua-cam.com/video/fJ9rUzIMcZQ/v-deo.html
I was born a month before he died in 1991…my father would always listen to queens cassette tapes in the car when we would go out…instantly fell in love with Bohemian Rhapsody…We are the champions is a great shout too
💟 Q U E E N 💟 Only one of the best selling artists on the planet! All members inducted into the Song Writer’s Hall of Fame & Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!! Btw, it’s never too late for Queen 👑 Freddie Mercury Magic 🪄🌙 🌟⭐️💫✨☀️
It’s a well known fact. Any car with a cassette player and one cassette tucked down behind the seat or pinched in the cushions. No matter what that tape was originally, it will have transformed into Queen “A Night at the Opera” when you find it.
Every rock singer has been compared to Freddie Mercury. None has come close to matching his vocal ability, stage presence, and bravado. From a technical standpoint, the Queen singer was blessed with fantastic range, allowing him to go from deep baritone to soaring tenor with ease. With power and vibrato, Mercury's style was closer to an opera singer than his fellow rock stars. His voice was so impactful that scientists have actually studied what made it special. All of this alone would be enough to secure the highest place on our list, but Mercury's presence pushes him to the top. It's said that when great singers are on, they "own the stage." Prime Freddie Mercury looked like he owned the whole world. Strength, swagger, charisma - he had it all in droves. Even in a collection of musical powerhouses such as this, Mercury stands above them all.
I saw them on this tour in 1980, it was an amazing show. The middle section of this song is hard to recreate live, due to the various over dubs and effects, so they use the studio version from the album, that's why the stage went dark so the band could leave the stage for a bit. I would also recommend "Save Me" from this same concert. It was a new song off the Game album and the first time people got to hear it done live.
Ill say you've got good taste in your picks of first reaction I love journey have whole slew of hits don't stop believing ,open arms, just to name a few❤❤❤ you totally rock Mrs. Biss all of biss say heck yeah.
Thanks Bisscute for a great reaction to Freddy & Co. (Queen) I remember when this 1st came. It was like WOW. I remember Freddy once said, "He doesn't care what they do to his music when he's gone, just don't make it boring". To me it seems like everyone goes the same way the song goes so it's more or less to similar. It funny it wasn't until a young girl from Norway took this song & did as Freddy says & really made it her own & on AGT-C of all places, (It was pre-recorded in Oct-Nov of 2019 for the 2020 season. (Her & her family were not ever going to sign with Simone & group). In fact The living members of Queen were so blown away with it that they posted it and gave her the rights to it. Queen never has done that, for there are some good versions out there, but I really don't think they truly can compare to what this 13, yes you hear me 13 yr.o. girl did. I'll give you the link please react to her. Angie On AGT Champions season 2 at 13 singing her rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. Even Queen was so blown away with it that they posted it & gave her the rights to it. ua-cam.com/video/7gQljxeaNuM/v-deo.html (She has already by this age, mastered 10 genres) She's the real deal, a prodigy.
Sorry I missed your 'live' reaction earlier but glad you have now experienced Queen. Now you see why I suggested you do their Live Aid 1985 set that time when I caught you react to a video 'live' :P. Just to let you the band members: Freddie Mercury- Lead Singer (sadly died from AIDS related Pneumonia in 1991), Brian May- Lead Guitarist, John Deacon- Bass Guitar and Roger Taylor- Drums. They are one of few bands where every member has wrote a Top 10 song. You will be surprised how many songs you will know of theirs that you won't know is theirs. For instance, two for definite you will know are We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions, which are played at sports events worldwide. I do hope that their Live Aid set is on your list eventually, even though it is over 20 mins for the full set and 6 songs (7 if you count the one where Freddie and Brian came back on later in the night). Great reaction and look forward to your next one :). x
Are you ready for Freddie..lol.. well to me Freddie is the greates singer ever, and also the best stage performer ever, if we talk music bands, Freddie was just born to be this Rock performer, and this song os also one of the most iconic songs ever in music history.. this is a top pick in music history..
FANTASTIC REACTION!💕 SUGGESTIONS: "UNDER PRESSURE" LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM, 1986 "WHITE QUEEN" LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH ODEON, 1975 QUEEN'S ENTIRE 20-MINUTE LIVE AID SET
Congratulations on finally discovering Queen!! You should probably react to Queen at Live Aid. The greatest 20 minutes in Rock and roll history!! Thank you for the video and I look forward to more Queen
Bisscute , you've reached the Zenith of music by playing Queen and yes they're forever the King and Queen combine of all bands !!! ( and yes ask your Mamma why you were not born in our time )
The start of this concert was bad ass they come out and do a very fast heavy rock version of we will rock you it was amazing ...hats off to the film crew if you guys hadn't passed the band off we wouldn't have seen this master performance from a very angry freddy mercury
You'll also know, We Will Rock You. And, We are The Champions. If you hear them. You will have heard them I'm sure. Just wouldn't know they are also Queen.
Yes, as you said, the artists back then demonstrated true natural talent. Unlike today, tbere was no utilization of synthetic autotune and pitch correction.
Hello Bisscute, this was a very nice and honest reaction, liked it :) To your defence, there are far too many young people having lived under a rock, not knowing about even the greatest names from the past, so you are not the only one, and I was not too surprised that you did not know about them. And I was utterly unsurprised that you liked them this much ;-) Actually, in my humble, and possibly taste-biased opinion, Queen was basically pioneering a music genre of their own back in the 1970s and 1980s, very much like Nightwish is in a genre of their own for the last two decades. Queen had many great, innovative and outright breakthrough ideas in music, and one of the fundamental ones was to create some kind of a marriage between contemporary music and classical/opera/symphonic music - again a similar thing to what Nightwish does. This idea goes well into the 1960s, with Beatles being (one of?) the first to use string instruments in a "pop" song. Then, Queen's almost contemporaries, Jeff Lynne's band Electric Light Orchestra (which is another rabbit hole I very much encourage you to dive into) began experimenting with using classical instruments on a wider scale and even crossing and molding the genres. And then, Queen came and gave it the punchy rocky "icing", taking it even further, creating pretty much timeless pieces of music along the way, which still sound fresh even after decades. If you decide to look further into their catalogue, which I definitely recommend, there is a ton of great music lying ahead of you ;-) As for the film (Bohemian Rhapsody, 2018, just look it up) - it is not a musical, but basically a biographic film taking you on a journey through the history of Queen, and serving you little pieces of many of their most famous songs along the way. A great film, IMHO, and I definitely recommend you to watch it, to learn more about the band and even some of their background. Rami Malek did a wonderful job portraying Freddie. But, as was suggested, it makes more sense to watch it only after you watch their full 1985 Live Aid performance and get to know some of their songs (a few of which you probably already know, just didn't know they came from Queen). So, have a wonderful time exploring this great band, one of the greatest, ever. :-)
When the family gets together for birthdays or holidays we always sing Bohemian Rhapsody. There is always one person who can reach that high note (not me though 😊). Another song we do is Angels by Robbie Williams.
*Do you like to know somethiing curious???? the first guitar is Brian May... and he wasn't just the founding member of Queen, he Actualy is also a Doctor of Astrophysics!*
pleased to see you reacting on this oldies ;) ! If you want to discover some more, take a look to the teenager band "Liliac". They are great ! And they did amazing covers of some old songs of Dio, Iron Maiden, ....
Aahhh yes....Queen and Freddie Mercury, one of the greatest of all time, ck out these two special songs, ua-cam.com/video/hkskujG0UYc/v-deo.html this is Freddie singing with Montserrat Caballe(Opera singer), and second is what might have been if Freddie would have met Floor Jansen song is who wants to live forever ua-cam.com/video/pN3TVKjX_Mc/v-deo.html

Queen greatest rock pop band in the world period.
Good to see you've discovered them.😉
The greatest frontman to have ever lived, fronting one of the greatest rock bands to ever exist.
More Queen please! Try "Somebody to Love" either live at Montreal or the official video. Or Under Pressure live at Wembley in 1986 (I was there)

Bohemian Rhapsody is almost our second National Anthem (in the UK) even the Queen knew it.

I am from Montréal, in 1981 i was 11y old ,
Lucky bastards that were there....
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😂
Ill say you've got good taste in your picks of first reaction I love journey have whole slew of hits don't stop believing ,open arms, just to name a few❤❤❤ you totally rock Mrs. Biss all of biss say heck yeah.
Thank you for sharing this.
" discutte !"
LOVE IT 😍
Your reactions are precious, and right on point. Thanks!
Even Queen was so blown away with it that they posted it & gave her the rights to it. ua-cam.com/video/7gQljxeaNuM/v-deo.html
(She has already by this age, mastered 10 genres) She's the real deal, a prodigy.
Great reaction and look forward to your next one :). x
Or if you have seen the Movie "Highlander" , the OST is all Queen.
Please watch my cover bohamian Rhapsody on my channel 👑
Its never too late become a Queen fan... more Queen please. Oh by the way, I'm a grandmother, and my grandchildren likes Queen too.
Beautiful reaction, I'll be back ❤️
Rest in peace Freddy thank you for the good music you've given us
You’re right girl, Raw Talent.
Caught them this tour this was a great show ....
Are you ready for Freddie..lol.. well to me Freddie is the greates singer ever, and also the best stage performer ever, if we talk music bands, Freddie was just born to be this Rock performer, and this song os also one of the most iconic songs ever in music history.. this is a top pick in music history..
FANTASTIC REACTION!💕
SUGGESTIONS:
"UNDER PRESSURE" LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM, 1986
"WHITE QUEEN" LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH ODEON, 1975
QUEEN'S ENTIRE 20-MINUTE LIVE AID SET
Don’t blame your mom. Queen were a 70s band. The 80s thing was a 😊Revival.
Nice to meet you Bisscute. I'm here for the same reason you are. Keep up the good work beautiful
Hello Bisscute, this was a very nice and honest reaction, liked it :)
To your defence, there are far too many young people having lived under a rock, not knowing about even the greatest names from the past, so you are not the only one, and I was not too surprised that you did not know about them. And I was utterly unsurprised that you liked them this much ;-)
Actually, in my humble, and possibly taste-biased opinion, Queen was basically pioneering a music genre of their own back in the 1970s and 1980s, very much like Nightwish is in a genre of their own for the last two decades. If you decide to look further into their catalogue, which I definitely recommend, there is a ton of great music lying ahead of you ;-)
As for the film (Bohemian Rhapsody, 2018, just look it up) - it is not a musical, but basically a biographic film taking you on a journey through the history of Queen, and serving you little pieces of many of their most famous songs along the way.
Another great song...Somebody to love. You should see it.
art is timeless and immortal
It is ❤️
DID YOU KNOW THAT with this song Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody the very first video clip appeared on television!!!
no auto tune going on here just hart..this is truly a rock opera
When the family gets together for birthdays or holidays we always sing Bohemian Rhapsody. There is always one person who can reach that high note (not me though 😊).
Another song we do is Angels by Robbie Williams.
It doesn’t matter when you got to know them. It only matters that you got to know them.
This song is a masterpiece! You noticed how it changed, up, down. I have an idea maybe why. It was a brilliant song! For sure.
Right?❤️
Welcome to the world of Queen 👑!!
*Do you like to know somethiing curious???? the first guitar is Brian May... and he wasn't just the founding member of Queen, he Actualy is also a Doctor of Astrophysics!*
